1115.02.2024carterpuch This show was the 2nd WrestleMania I watched as a kid. At the time, this show did not hit like WM28 and still doesnt for me. A fine opener, a pretty bad Henry/Ryback match although it was cool seeing Ryback lift Mark up for his finish. The tag title match wasnt much but I feel like all 4 guys really gave it their all in the 6.5 minutes they were given. Fandango vs Jericho was nothing, and seeing how Fandango would be booked going forward its insane that Jericho lost here. Del Rio vs Swagger was quite unfortunate viewing, but is followed by another one of my favorite matches of all time. End of an Era at WM28 might be THE favorite, but this match isnt far behind, if behind at all. Also along those same lines, if WM28 wasnt going to be the end of the streak, this absolutely shouldve been the one. In my opinion this is the last truly amazing match of the Undertakers career. This match for the most part is Punk out-wrestling Taker, barely escaping his signature offense and getting the advantage on him, which makes you think as a viewer that this might be the night Taker goes down. It almost reminds me of Taker vs HHH at WM27 not in the matches themselves but the psychology behind them. Theres so many moments in this match, from the diving elbow through the announce table, to Punks face when Taker sits up during the anaconda vice. Add this on top of all the Chokeslam, Tombstone, and GTS near falls, this match fucking rocks. As much as I know Punk wanted the Mania main event this year, I cant help but think it was a blessing in disguise because this is what we got instead (now just imagine if this was the main). The HHH vs Brock match was a bit disappointing to me, as the build to this match actually had me excited for it. I suppose HHH going over here made sense given the storyline, but did Triple H going over on Brock in the year 2013 help either of them? Rock vs Cena II was noticeably worse than the one the year prior, however I believe Rock did get injured early on in this match so that surely did not help. Fortunately they got the winner right as having super part-timer Rock endPunks 434 day title reign 3 months prior was preposterous to begin with. To me, this card is nothing for the most part, which is sad to say for a WM. I loved the look of the arena and stage for this show but it still just lacks the vibe/atmosphere that really really helped Mania 28. A very middling show with an instant classic streak match hidden in it.

2022.01.2024Akatsuki8.0A decent WrestleMania which isn't as bad as people make it out to be but definitely is not one of the best. It was a spectacle, great crowd, I loved the aesthetics including the entrances & stage design, the latter didn't feel like it was too much, it felt just right. The Shield defeat Orton, Sheamus & Big Show was a decent match & made sense to put the Shield over here. A series of either bad or mediocre matches followed though the individuals booked to win made sense except for Fandango (one of those big moments in WWE where you can see Jericho clearly being underused & horribly booked which provided more reasoning for him to leave the company years later). Undertaker's final streak match with a win over CM Punk was incredible & easily match of the night (crazy to think Undertaker could still perform at such a high level in his late 40s). The Triple H VS Lesnar match was entertaining to watch. Main event between The Rock & Cena was alright, clearly not better than their previous match at WrestleMania 28 but it is just frustrating from a storyline perspective because it defeats the whole purpose of the "Once in a Lifetime" marketing from their match in the previous WrestleMania & it was clearly obvious that they wanted to have Cena win this so both guys were 1-1. This rematch should've never happened but then again, it does make me wonder how else would they have booked the 2013 Road to Wrestlemania.

3304.09.2023lukerocker95.0Once again a midddling Mania. We start off with a fun six man tag to give the Shield a solid win and get things moving (7/10) Ryback's match sucked from bell to bell and Henry winning was the wrong choice (1/10) Team Hell No VS Ziggler/Big E is a watchable match with a fun callback to Bryan/Sheamus at the start but it doesn't get to be anything better than a random TV match (5/10) Jericho wrestles a perfectly decent match against Fandango but once again its nothing interesting and him doing the job didn't make much sense at the moment or in the long run (5/10) Del Rio/Swagger is one of the dullest world title matches at mania and no one cared Swagger didn't even get an entrance (4/10) Taker/Punk is MOTN with some memorable images, fun nearfalls and great heelwork (9/10) Triple H/Lesnar went on a bit long and dragged in certain places but it was a fun enough brawl with some good assists by HBK to make it easily the second best match of the show (7/10) Cena/Rock II didn't need to happen and much less for the title, its a little shorter than their first which is a plus but its once again an unintersting bout. Should've been Punk/Rock or at least a triple threat (5/10)

3826.04.2023YetiFaun5.0Puh.

4728.03.2023GMS184.0A show that commits the cardinal sin of being simply boring and empty. The opener and Team Hell No vs Ziggler and Big E are fine enough undercard matches. Ryback/Henry is bad and killed Ryback's momentum dead (not the worst thing I guess), and that's not even the weirdest result of the night as Jericho puts over Fandango in a forgettable match that ultimately accomplished nothing since Fandango's peak was about a day long before he went to jobber heaven. Del Rio defeats racism in an aggressively nothing WHC title match with that terrible story behind it. Undertaker/Punk is the obvious MOTN and is quite good, just not an all-time great match for me, and it had the angle using Paul Bearer's very recent death attached to it that's gross at worst or still just very lazy heat at best. Lesnar/HHH is a fine but uninspiring weapons brawl. Cena/Rock is a bit more egregiously "fine" in that it's a worse version of their match from the year before and all the hype and three separate video packages doesn't stop it from feeling dead. I really dislike that entire feud. This show isn't too awful a time but my god it could put you to sleep.
4827.03.2023AG324.0What sums this show up best is me sitting there during the best match of the night thinking "man, this show has so much missed potential". A Cena/Punk Mania match? Nope. The Rock vs someone new? Nope. Undertaker facing another legend from his past? Nope. It all just felt off. As for match quality, Punk/Undertaker was exceptional and I actually preferred Cena/Rock 2 but it didn't even need to happen. As a big Punk fan, it would've been soooooo good seeing him main event and hey, maybe it would've stopped him leaving for 7 years but at least what he did at this show was awesome. Fandango's debut was pretty meh, Ryback/Henry sucked, the world title match felt like a midcard title and had a horrific angle around it and HHH/Brock was too long and never peaked particularly high. The opener was solid, Hell No vs Ziggler and Big E was fine and...that's about all the positives.

5824.06.2022Skypellex5.0It's an overall mediocre WrestleMania with a lot of average matches and only one that stands out, who is the great CM Punk - Undertaker. With really bad booking for some matches (The defeats of Ryback and Jericho are total aberrations! ). A Rock who did not deserve to be champion and to deprive Punk of a WrestleMania Main Event. Worst post-2010 WrestleMania after 27.

7708.07.2021JeromySchoenfeldt6.0When i first watched Wrestlemania 29 live, it just didn't feel as good as Wrestlemania 28 but i'll put my bias aside for this one. Rewatching it i forgot a lot of these matches ever happened and i watched raw and smackdown for the 2 weeks prior to WM. The first match with Randy Orton, Sheamus & The Big Show vs. The Shield seemed hastily thrown together. It's the oddest pairing between Orton, Sheamus, and Wight. Thankfully the Shield beat the mismatched pairing after a pretty decent match. Next up, Mark Henry vs Ryback. Being a fan of Ryback (Both back then and sorta now) i expected something pretty good but again it was a decent match with an ending that made me feel kinda "Eh" because Ryback lost all of his steam after this match to a big man who has been wrestling for 5 extra years too long. Thankfully up next we would get a better match with Kane (a little past his prime) Daniel Bryan (1 year away from the greatest event of his life) vs Dolph Ziggler and Big E whose careers would both go upwards within the next few years. This match was pretty good, dare i say the 4th best of the night. Up next with Fandango vs Chris Jericho it was a great match, you could tell Fandango had the rocket strapped to his back (a little) and went up against Chris Jericho and when he won he had me stunned for several minutes. This was my 2nd favorite match of the night. Up next with Alberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger it was an okay match. It felt like something i've seen 100's of times before. Watching this is like the feeling of watching a randy orton vs john cena match, just painful and boring because you've seen the full extent of their characters already. After that, the Undertaker vs CM Punk match was amazing, as most Undertaker WM matches are. The story with CM Punk was excellently told and it made me a fan of the undertaker for once (When first watching this i really wasn't into him because i've only seen 3 of his matches) But with the many spots inside it, it felt amazing just watching it and the streak claimed another victim. Sadly Punks career would go downhill after this but that's not a fault of Undertaker. This match was my 3rd favorite. The next match between Brock Lesnar vs HHH was extremely predictable. Lets be real here, we all knew who was gonna come out on top. He should of stopped wrestling after End of An Era but instead continued poisoning WWE talent by stopping wrestlers momentum because "It's all about the game and how you play it" This match has a lot to groan about but the action really isn't that bad. It's not the worst match of the night but it's not the best either. Then finally we get to the main event between John Cena and The Rock in which Cena beats the rock which wasn't all that surprising but felt like a carbon copy of last year minus the new ending. The finish made me (a John Cena fan at the time) very very happy and still does today. Overall i give this a 6/10 or 3 stars as it isn't bad but a lot of it is pain

8615.12.2020Old ride long line10.0I? m 100 percent biased because I attended this wrestlemania so my comment is gonna reflect what it was like to be there in 2013 and not on its replay value. This was a wet dream come true in 2013 as far as a line up card goes. WWE had almost fully transitioned from attitude era and ruthless aggression to the pg 13 era. Me and my buddies always planned on going to wrestlemania 30 because every 10 years wrestlemania would come back to New York City and boy did we luck out and get wrestlemania 29 instead. We grew up watching taker, rock, cena, hhh, Brock, Jericho, Kane, mark henry, orton, and big show, hell even puff daddy and the family did a mini concert so it was basically reliving my childhood as a 20 something year old. Taker and punk was my motn followed by, cena vs rock, hhh vs Brock, shield vs orton Sheamus big show, del rio vs swagger, hell no vs big e and dolf, Henry vs ryback, and no disrespect for y2j but I forgot about fandango until I read his name on the card. Great trip down memory lane and none of the huge names disappointed.

Mediocre PPV and bad WrestleMania. No match really WM worthy apart from Punk/Undertaker. Lesnar/HHH is a bit boring but has some good moments and Cena/Rock is only decent.

9304.04.202020SaiDa196.0A largely average show with Taker vs Punk being the one standout match. The main event was essentially the same match that they had the previous year, minus any of the unpredictability that the first one had, whilst Lesnar vs HHH started well, but dragged on too long. As for the undercard, it was mediocre for the most part, although the tag title match and the opener were both decent.

9723.03.2020Marci124.0Opener **1/2, Henry/Ryback *1/4, Tag Titles **1/2, Jericho/Fandango ***, Del Rio/Swagger **3/4, Punk/Taker ****1/4, Lesnar/HHH **3/4, Cena/Rock **1/2.
