During a promo, Paul Heyman states 'everything I had planned for this show is now out the window' and that's truly what this feels like, it feels like a show that was put together at the last minute. Two boring squash matches, a dull battle royale match and a puerile strip tease - I'm no prude but it's just embarrassing to watch. But, was absolutely in keeping with the atmosphere of the era this show was created in so perhaps this serves as a stark reminder of how far wrestling has progressed"

Kurt Angle destroying Justin Credible makes sence but atleast built it for a week or somthing, I feel like they coulda done something more, I dont know. Ummm theres strippers so cool I guess(no not really.) Terrible first episode and imma save yall the effort(and myself) and simply tell everyone to not watch this."

[4.0] "This show is such a mixed bag, there are genuinely exciting things that happen, new characters like The Zombie and Kevin Thorn being introduced because this aired on Sci-Fi and several wrestlers from the original ECW. While The WWE Title Match at Vengeance was built well I wasn't a fan of the battle royal to decide who faced John Cena. The Zombie segment was weird along with vampire Kevin Thorn. Those gimmicks felt like a callback to early '90s WWF. Kurt Angle squashing Justin Credible was great. I'll be honest as a teenager Kelly Kelly's segment excited me but it doesn't hold up today. This show was a such a weird combination of things that really require you to take WWE's brand splits seriously."

[3.0] "For their first show as the third brand of WWE, it's an OK debut show. The focus of the show was not on the matches, but rather showcasing their top guys: double champion RVD (who not only held RAW's world title, the WWE Championship, hostage, but was awarded the ECW World Heavyweight Championship by Paul Heyman in the opening promo), "Wrestling Machine" Kurt Angle, "Exhibitionist" Kelly Kelly, the massive Big Show, and the daredevil Sabu, alongside guest stars John Cena and Edge from RAW. It's a good thing that the matches weren't the focus though because the matches sucked. Sandman vs. The Zombie would end up being one of WWECW's most notorious segments (for all the wrong reasons). Match of the Night was Kurt Angle squashing Justin Credible in a match that made Angle look just incredible. Kelly Kelly doing the striptease was awkward to watch. The main event, the "Extreme" Battle Royal, was also a mess in-ring wise, with Big Show eliminating all but Sabu (and needing help from Big Guido to be eliminated). Match concept was also silly, with all the weapons on the outside of the ring, meaning that Big Show had to look dumb by throwing wrestlers through the middle rope (or use his sheer mass to scare off guys away) for the guys to use weapons. I'm fine with the matches not being good right now, because they need to establish their characters, but hopefully they'll be able to put on some good matches sooner rather than later, especially since they won't have Cena and Edge appearing in every ECW event to bail them out."

[3.0] "The debut of ECW 2006 was a huge fail, everything that worked with ECW hype wasn't there. The zombie, a vampire, two squash matches and a generic battle royale in the main event... with Big Show. Maybe Kelly Kelly segment could work, it's what some people want, but it doesn't feel as a strong show, neither as a WWE or a ECW 2006 event."

Was soll den sowas? Also bitte, solche Matches braucht nun wirklich kein Mensch.

The Zombie?
