117.05.2020Paul Allain4.0The first half of the show is quite weak, with throwaway matches, bad results and a sketchy use of the CHIKARA guests. Things turned around at the midpoint, with both the 3-Way and 4-Way delivering good wrestling fights while also building up a future match in Montreal. Dasher/Dux and Rahim/Rhino were both good contest that helped the progression of the younger talents, but in both cases the result was less than ideal again. The tag team title match was rather boring, more of a proof of concept for the Steen & Bailey team than anything else, and hopefully their titrle reign will be better than this. Brodie/Elgin was a nice victory for Michael Elgin, but not close to touching their first encounter, much slower, less intense and crisp, with a long floor segment that killed their flow and made them feel like a lame duck main event. Ultimately, this is only a decent show, with sketchy booking and decisions, more geared toward building up future events than delivering a great one today.
