At only an hour the show is very easy to watch, too. I'd consider this to be one of the better installments of SNME that I've seen. |

Demos/Rockers and Warrior/Rude were both pretty good too, and Kerry/Rose squash put the former over well in his debut. The jungle skit is not for everyone, but I personally thought it's silly fun. |

Demolition vs. Rockers was a good title match that got the heels' shtick over heading into SummerSlam, but Perfect vs. Santana is what stole the whole damn show. What a fantastic match the two legends had, legit one of the WWF's best in the whole year of 1990. |

Perfect/Tito was awesome and Demolition/Rockers was also good stuff, not to mention I always enjoy seeing Buddy Rose. The vignettes with Alfred Hayes and Gene "Jim" Okerlund were very amusing as well. I don't understand giving away the Summerslam title match so close to the PPV, but oh well! |

Mit Rude gegen Warrior bringt man den eigentlichen ME gleich im Opener. Match war in Ordnung, aber beide haben schon bessere Matches gezeigt. Das Match zw. Demolition & den Rockers ist auf den Papier spannend. An und für sich war das Match auf einen guten Weg. Nur das Finish ist ein wenig ärgerlich. Dafür ist das Aftermath mit den beiden Teams dazu den Harts & LoD interessant. Auch gut dass der Ref bei seiner Entscheidung blieb. Perfect gegen Santana war das MotN. (3 1/2*) Im ME gibt Kerry von Erich sein Debüt und darf Buddy Rose besiegen. Dazwischen markiert Hogan sein Revier und hegt Anspruch auf den World Title. Nur hat halt Earthquake mit Gefolgschaft was dagegen. Die Show konnte unterhalten. |

Wir hatten das (solide) debut von Kerry von Erich. Ein gut inszeniertes comeback von Hulk Hogan. Ein etwas enttäuschendes aber nicht schlechtes Tag Team Match mit schöner after-match Szene. Ein ansehnliches gutes Wrestling Match zwischen Mr. Perfect und Tito Santana und ein opener, den ich lieber als Main Event gesehen hätte. Kurzes ansähnliches Match mit sinvoller Story bezogen auf das kommende Cage Match. Die Safari Segmente hätte ich jetzt jedoch nicht gebraucht. |

Zu Beginn gibt es zum Heavyweight-Titelpicture eine passende Aufbauhilfe zum Slam, die DQ durch Outside-Interference schreit ja quasi nach einem Käfig. Es folgt das Comeback Hogan's, dessen Anspruch auf seinen Gürtel nicht lange auf sich warten lässt - blöderweise machen ihm da Eartquake und Gefolgschaft einen Strich durch die Rechnung. Im Tag-Titelmatch danach geht es laut und ab und an etwas unübersichtlich zur Sache - trotzdem sind die beteiligten Team gut gelaunte Klassiker ihrer Zeit, wie auch die sich später hinzugesellenden Road Warriors und die Hart Foundation. Das Intercontinental Championship Match ist allemal sehenswert - und wird ebenfalls extrem lautstark vom Publikum begleitet. Schwachpunkt einer ansonsten wirklich überzeugenden Aufbaushow für den Summerslam ist das finale Match zwischen dem Tornado und dem Playboy. Heisse Crowd, gutes Booking. |

Und hier noch Jesse Ventura als Kommentator und Interviewer, auch er eine Klasse für sich. |
