Dazu ein sehr geiler Auftritt von Tully Blanchard, er hier mal eben zeigt, wie man einen Impact hinterlässt und alles völlig legit aussehen lässt. Wie sehr sowas heutzutage fehlt. Benoit und TCS machen das wirklich gut. Bei Douglas und Simmons überwiegt natürlich der Story-Anteil und mit dem kann ich hier auch schon leben. |

We will start by addressing the video packages of Public Enemy and Raven; now although they were very uncoordinated and honestly downright silly, they are a sign of the times, and proved to be 90s and ECW-ish, so there is no reason to slander. We saw a few promos, highlights, and announcements, leading towards the February 4 show, which is looking pretty good. For the actual in-ring portion of the show, we saw two decent matches. Benoit and Scorpio started off strong with jazzy moves and full speed effort, the match felt uneventful and uncreative. There was never any story for the match, especially during the middle where the action had died down. Although the match seemed directionless, the moves performed were looking very good. They both proved the in-ring work rate is insanely prevalent between the two. The roll-up finish is used up at this point, but not everything can be a winner. Benoit vs. Scorpio (2. 75/5). The main event for the ECW title was one I liked slightly more than the first contest. This is due to the story of the match and the sense made from it. Simmons and Douglas didnt out-work any expectations, they told a good story of Simmons shoulder being too injured to compete. Douglas (playing a coward) was extremely smart during the match, turning the momentum to his side by ousting Simmons injury. Despite Simmons loosing the match, he still looks strong and remains a believable contender. After the match, Blanchard comes to the ring for a brawl. Douglas was assisted by Benoit and Malenko. Douglas (c) vs. Simmons (2. 75/5). |

Dann wieder das Video zu Raven und eine Promo von ihm auf dem Spielplatz, klasse. Der Main Event geht in Ordnung, das Finish ist aber in dieser Liga doch etwas komisch, da hat man schon härtere Sachen gesehen. Blanchard kommt dann noch und attackiert Douglas, der aber von Benoit und Malenko gerettet wird. |

Good wrestling in both of the matches and a nice swerve involving Tully Blanchard. The Raven video package with ~100 quick zooms on the dead end sign is still hilarious to me though. |

Erwähnenswert ist auf jeden Fall, dass zum ersten Mal seitdem ich Wrestling schaue in einem Match der Unterleib eines Gegners bearbeitet wurde :D. Der Main Event war kurz, aber akzeptabel, schade, dass über die gesamte Ausgabe jegliches Storytelling vernachlässigt wurde. So war das In-Ring Produkt wirklich ziemlich gut, aber die Show für eine Weekly-Show nicht "gut" oder "sehr gut". |
