The referre's blatant ignoring of interference in two matches, and useless Hugh Morris going over Mike freakin' Awesome (who should have been feuding with Scott Steiner for the WCW Championship by this point). Other than that, I honestly really enjoyed this show. The main event is really fun, and the Cruiserweights are on point too. Seeing a young AJ Styles on here was surreal. You could definitely feel they were gearing up for big change, the entire tone is so much different than when Russo or Nash was in charge. But man, all those empty seats were depressing to see. I think they should have swallowed their pride and booked smaller venues around this time. A full venue ALWAYS looks better than a half empty one. Overall, good show. 2001 WCW was definitely heading towards better things, sad that it just ended up being absorbed by the WWF. |
