[4.0] "A typically poor episode of TV wrestling which equals an above-average Nitro, with a few cool things but also a lot of 'duds'. Hennig's interview delivery was a bit cheesy and didn't lead to anything in the rest of the show, so no clue why this was the opener. Flair's interruption was entertainingly unhinged as always, at least. Harlem Heat vs Public Enemy was a worthless messy-brawl with underwhelming selling and cheap interference. TS;NR (too short; no rating). The post-match segment of Harlem Heat and Sherri breaking up wasn't remotely interesting. Konnan vs Gomez was another worthless match with zero interest going in and zero excitement in the end product.. It was a squash for Konnan, but he gained nothing from it. TS;NR. Garza & Juventud vs Villanos was the first worthwhile thing on the show, as is usual for the WCW cruiserweights. It was just spot after spot, all of which showed nice athleticism despite the consistently obvious cooperation. **1/2. The nWo's promo segment was alright. Hall isn't exactly a compelling speaker, but Savage's iconic delivery was cool, and them antagonising Zbyszko was fun. The Luger and Giant tag-team hype video for Bash at the Beach was actually really good, especially with the realistically delivered interview segments they sliced in. Eddie & Chavo vs Bagwell & Norton was okay for its length, plus good with the angle of Eddie's heel turn. Bagwell's confident delivery made up for his over-the-top character work, while his partner Norton hit some decent monster powerhouse spots. There was good energy and athleticism from Chavo and Eddie, with Eddie's selling and bumping being especially strong, and the many slow teases of his heel turn all being really good. The resulting 2-v-1 of Bagwell and Norton destroying Chavo was pretty fun, with Chavo bumping and selling well. **1/2. Savage vs Parka was obviously nothing more than an angle. At least DDP's unmasking and celebration in the crowd was fun. TS;NR. Psychosis & King vs Glacier & Miller was mildly fun before "the booking" kicked in. They had very disconnected segment/spot transitions. but all 4 guys still did one of two cool things. TS;NR. Flair's segment mocking Piper with the mannequin was weird, though him cutting a straight promo was fun, and Piper's run-in for their brawl was actually pretty entertaining, especially with Flair getting embarrassed. The Raven and Richards interview segment was very bland. Raven's "too cool to care" character is very boring still, and Richards offered nothing. Benoit & Mungo vs The Steiners was another merely fine match underserved by "the booking. There was some quite explosive powerhouse stuff from the Steiners, and typically good intensity from Benoit, though Mungo was sloppy and did nothing of note. A shame the interference derailed it all. **1/2. Hogan's show-ending posing and promo were cheesy fun, as was Luger and The Giant clearing out his lackeys."

[10.0] "Public Enemy got the win over Harlem Heat getting so revenge. Konnan gets some heat back by beating Joe Gomez, he needed the win. Hector Garza and Juventud have a great filler match against Los Villanos. Heel Eddie continues as he teams Chavo. DDP dresses like La Parka to sneak attack Macho man is fantastic. Psychosis and Silver King defeats Ernest Miller in Glacier, the first time we see Glacier on the losing end of a match. The Steiners defeat the horseman with the best match in Mongo's career."

[9.0] "Richtig gute Go Home Show! Picke packe voll, Videopaket, gute Promos und mit all dem wurde echt Lust auf den Bash at the Beach gemacht. Das Wrestling an sich war auch brauchbar"

[10.0] "Phenomenal episode of Nitro! Great lucha tag and fantastic Steiners/Horsemen tag, maybe my favorite Mongo match ever? Three giant dudes throwing each other around and doing nutty stuff as Benoit just slaps the living daylights out of them, plus some chaos at the end with Sullivan and an exploding wooden chair, plus an excellent nWo/Guerreros tag with more character development for Eddie as he enters one of his best periods. Hennig is here, Raven is here, you get the AWESOME La Parka impersonation angle, plus the show ends with Luger Racking Bischoff to a massive pop as Giant fends off the nWo! What more could you ask for?"
