[8.0] "It was a really good enough event. The tag matches, Boltin vs Tsuji and Narita vs Goto was good.ELP vs Cobb was good enough to very good and Uemura vs Henare and Takeshita vs Finlay was very good."
[6.0] "Another good, but ultimately unimpressive night of G1 Action. Takeshita and Uemura continue to be the highlights for me. [MOTN: HENARE vs. Yuya Uemura]"
[6.0] "Gabe Kidd & Jake Lee vs Katsuya Murashima & Shoma Kato: A typical more experienced vs young lions match, nothing memorable happened here [*1/4]. Callum Newman & Great O-Khan vs Dick Togo & EVIL: Was not that keen on this match, the action was average at best [*1/4]. Shota Umino & Tomoaki Honma vs SANADA & TAKA Michinoku: Average tag match, nothing memorable, house show standard [**]. Shingo Takagi & Tetsuya Naito vs Kosei Fujita & Zack Sabre Jr: A decent showing from all four involved, they did what they needed to and what they could in the limited time [**1/4]. Yota Tsuji vs Boltin Oleg: Really good match to start the tournament matches on this card, both gave solid performances and may be one of the better singles matches of Oleg [***3/4]. HENARE vs Yuya Uemura: An enjoyable match, the styles of both meshed quite well and was a solid match [****]. Jeff Cobb vs El Phantasmo: Cobb's strength matches ELP's athleticsm perfectly, they had some decent reversals and some decent moments [***1/4]. Ren Narita vs Hirooki Goto: What a boring match, Narita used HoT tactics to get the win and did not like this one bit [DUD]. David Finlay vs Konosuke Takeshita: Had the makings of a 4-4.5* match, but with the interference and the underhanded tactics, this did let it down, both gave a decently solid showing [***1/2]"
[7.0] "A perfectly fine day of Climax without any banger but with some pretty bad stuff unfortunetely. Among the tournament bouts three or four turned to be good but not everything was perfect and the undercard was as bad as always. Overall good show with some flaws. ***1/2"
[6.0] "Three matches at seven, but I skipped the Narita match so it's ultamtely not that good. Henare, Cobb and ELP all did good work, while Finaly/Takeshita could've been MOTT but was instead just OK."
[5.0] "Looking at the whole card, this was a pretty average show. I think having Narita vs Goto before the main killed any chance of momentum and as such the main event feels like a fairly good match atop a mostly okay card. This was one of the smaller, non-Tokyo shows where you usually see the guys hold back a little and rest up. It did feel that way a bit outside of the main event and maybe Yuya vs Henare."
[7.0] "Really solid show once again. A lot of the same standouts as usual as Finlay vs Takeshita was great, and Yuya probably took my match of the night once again against Henare. The Narita match was a bit of a low but some few cool comeback spots for Goto made is passable."
[7.0] "While night 8 was a solid night of action in some ways it was a step backwards mostly due to the amount of ref bumps over the course of the final two matches alone. I ask Tanahashi again when are he and the committee going to THREATEN THE HOUSE OF TORTURES' JOB SECURITY? ! Gabe Kidd for as much of an ass that we was on commentary makes a valid point that the House of Torture is the worst faction in New Japan going today and needs to be torn down at any and all costs. At some point down the line Finlay needs to have a dog pound cage match between War Dogs and HOT and I would rather have the House crumble in a heap"
[6.0] "Another night of solid, enjoyable wrestling. If you are still coming to the G1 looking for state of the art, top tier wrestling, I'm afraid you are several years to late. What you will get here is a series of solidly worked 3 to 3.5 star matches that you will not remember by the end of the week. If you are looking for recommendations, I would say don't bother with anything on the show if you have anything better to do. If you are in the mood for wrestling, pick a match containing a performer you like. No one stood out here. No one shone. No one embarrassed themselves. Every match is fine, and none are more than that."
