Genau das Gegenteil von Blood and Guts also. We want fire Rufe.

2001.12.2023danzitorock9.0Great episode here for Blood and Guts, some great matches that we don't see very often on television. Really strong event with a different dynamic because of the stipulation.

2301.11.2023kingrokong116.0Outside of the titular match and the segments with MJF & Adam Cole, there wasn't a lot to love here. While the highs were quite high, it also felt like there was a decent bit of fluff. It's hard to stay interested in a two-hour show when there are obvious segments inserted simply to pad the show. That being said, I think this was possibly the strongest of the three Blood & Guts matches so far, and the opening title match between Hook & Jack Perry was solid.
2427.10.2023skyesversion6.0Is it bad that I only liked this episode because of the MJF and Adam Cole vs. Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia match? The HOOK vs Jack Perry match looked kinda rushed and the ending was mid. Like why did HOOK have to lose his winning streak on a random episode of Dynamite to Jack Perry of all people. Big eye roll. The Britt Baker jobber match was cute I guess. But my definite favorite part was the whole MJF and Adam Cole vs Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia segment. First, the Better Than You Bay Bay thing they did at the restaurant was hilarious. Then they did the music mash-up thing. MJF's reaction was priceless. Then, arguably the best thing that happened in all of wrestling this summer, the Dance-Off. It doesn't get better than this. Like this will never be topped. Ever. Plus the match was great. I like how they weren't trying to put on a five-star classic and instead just wanted us to be entertained. I was definitely sports entertained. Then the Blood and Guts match happened. I liked last years better idk. This years was missing something. Kinda overwhelming for me. But overall, pretty good episode of Dynamite. Memorable for sure.

3217.08.2023Sandmann9.0Im Grunde natürlich eine One Match Show. Hat niemanden was gebracht.

3901.08.2023arrancar5.0A pretty average show, with the namesake main-event being the clear highlight but still not nearly exciting enough to carry the weak 1st half. Hook vs Perry was fine enough for getting heel Perry over. Early on they had some decently intense brawling but also a few somewhat weak exchanges or awkward moments. Perry's aggressive side and cheap tricks were good, mostly because they didn't coincide with him becoming overly cowardly and running away like he was constantly doing in all his recent backstage segments, which technically didn't make sense but which I still appreciated. Hook's punches unfortunately didn't look very good, but his other, 'traditional' pro-wrestling strikes were all decent, and his various suplexes were all pretty good as usual. The ref distraction/bump and belt spot at the end were lame and fell flat, unfortunately. **3/4. MJF and Cole's ridiculous 'buddy' segments continue to be a bit over-acted but still pretty fun just because they're both such entertaining characters and have a nice dynamic. Marvez's coverage of the Callis and Jericho partnership throughout the show was pretty worthless. Britt's jobber match was pointless, since she didn't even impress with her dominance. She instead just ran through her big moves with mediocre technique to get the win. Too short; no rating. MJF & Cole vs Sammy & Garcia was alright. I honestly did think MJF and Cole's mash-up entrance music was pretty great, and the way they played up their reactions to it and to each other was pretty funny. The dance-off at the start was obviously ridiculous but I was still smiling at it the whole time, at least until Cole's intentionally cringeworthy dance attempts that made him look wayyyy too dorky, especially when he's meant to be the somewhat more sensible one in his and MJF's friendship. Sammy and Garcia's control work was okay but too 'weaselly' and 'cheap' for me to take seriously, especially with the much larger and more powerful MJF as the one being dominated by them. Cole's big hot tag was energetic but otherwise typically underwhelming in technique and impact, plus his massive over-reliance on super kicks got old quickly. Thankfully, Cole and MJF's goofy character dynamic was still quite entertaining and their resulting energy made the match somewhat enjoyable as they worked towards getting the win. ***. The Blood and Guts match was nothing special but still quite good. I've usually found these AEW 'multi-man skirmish' matches to overly messy, cheesy, and annoyingly cooperative and while this still had a certain amount of that, I thought it also had enough good in-ring action, entertaining character work, and some genuinely good hardcore/prop/structure spots. Yes, it was overly long and also became overkill with the Bucks' generic stuff plus the run-on multi-man spots, and the finish with Pac and Takeshita bailing was lame, but I still enjoyed the majority of the match, even if only to a minor level. ***1/4

4230.07.2023Cal16416.0An okay show, but I was admittedly disappointed with the main event. The show started off with Jack Perry doing his attempt to be villainous, but he really doesnt have the charisma to pull it off and just dressing in all black wont fix that. Britt Baker manged to look awful in a 1 minute squash match somehow. The MJF and Adam Cole segments were the saving grace of this show and the reason the score isnt lower.

5126.07.2023MaveDeltzer7.0This was actually a pretty-well structured card for AEW. That's been an issue they've had in the past but I think they did quite well with this. Even the Baker match helped slow things down a bit while adding to the variety before the main event. With such a long main event on the card, they had to avoid burnout with too much serious wrestling and I think they did. The main event might have been the best Blood and Guts match for me but there are still problems with the format itself as well as the production. The ending of the main event was a bit anticlimactic, which is a real shame considering the match took up half of the entire episode, but it did have its moments.

6922.07.2023exzachly8.0An exciting and entertaining show throughout, with the only real issue coming in the severe disparity between the mens and womens division in terms of screen time and booking. Match #1: HOOK v. Jack Perry (***) Chaotic brawl to start, and a massive loss for HOOK, with Perry being the first man to pin him in AEW. I actually really liked Perrys opening video package of him burying his former Jungle Boy persona and entering with Beethovens 5th, but I might be in the minority. Match #2: Baker v. Sparks (1/2*) Britt Baker returns to action which was a nice surprise but this made me remember how I thought that the women were getting their own Blood & Guts match this year and then I just got really disappointed with how little progress has been made toward elevating the womens division. With this being the only womens segment on the whole show, the point is further proven. Match #3: Cole & MJF v. Garcia & Guevara (***1/2) PULL THE TRIGGER ON BETTER THAN YOU BAYBAY AND GIVE EM THE BELTS IDC. These two are just so entertaining together and the tease of a break up at the end makes my heart hurt already. This should go on awhile I think. Just a fun and easy match to enjoy. Match #4: Blood & Guts IV (****1/4) There are two sides to this coin, and both arguments I feel are valid. Comparing this match to the most recent WarGames match in WWE, this was the completed opposite in terms of booking. Where that one was heavy in tactics and psychology to tell the story, this was more just a wild and brutal affair. I think AEW is attempting to really make the idea of Blood & Guts its own thing and for me, this match worked with that philosophy. There were several threads that weaved into one another, whether it be Omega & Ibushi, Hangman & Mox, Takeshita & The BCC, Hangman & Omega, PAC & Omega, or Omega & Mox, each little story had its time to shine, but really the match was based around destruction. I know some had issues that the pacing of the match, specifically the use of the bed of nails and others had issues with the redundant rules where PAC and Takeshita were just allowed to leave; I understand both of these arguments. However, I really do think these AEW Blood & Guts matches do not exist to be a dramatic story based in reality. Its a violent car crash of ten men getting battered and bruised. The closing scene of Yuta getting choked out while Claudio and Mox were handcuffed was also a brilliant way to end the feud that started with Hangman and Moxley and Moxley giving up on behalf of Yuta. Too bad the camera missed it. Nonetheless, just a war that lived up to expectations.

7822.07.2023Dune7.0[7.0] Great episode! While I despised MJF's dance-off and Dax's (worked? ) shoot into the camera, the Blood and Guts match itself was PPV-quality on weekly television. There were, of course, lowlights, like Ibushi's weak performance and the fizzling, confusing finish, the intensity of the match made an hour fly by and left me disappointed there weren't another 45 minutes left to develop things further. A very solid show, despite the typical Dynamite hiccups.

9321.07.2023flightaker3218.0Pretty good show thanks to a long B&G match that was pretty good and fun although it sure as hell wasn't Wargames 92 or even the B&G match from last year. The undercard was good with Perry/Hook, and Cole/MJF vs Sammy/Garcia was a really fun match. Nothing really negative other than the one women's match being a minute and somehow being bad in a way.
9421.07.2023August Maldonado7.0Excellent entry segment by Jack Perry, Hook Vs Perry for the FTW championship, I was expecting something more dynamic, crazier, the match seemed a bit boring and tiresome to watch; the tropical restaurant segment with MJF and Cole was very entertaining; fabulous and entertaining match from Guevara, Garcia, MJF and Adam Cole; The truth is that I would prefer that Adam Cole and MJF win the AEW tag team championships, FTR is already tiring and boring; magnificent Blood & Guts Match, it was fabulous, good sequences and good hardcore moments, one was more valuable than the other, I mainly highlighted Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley; This show only has two good matches, very good, and the rest is unremarkable.
9521.07.2023Le Main Event9.0One of the most entertaining Dynamite in recent months. We finally witnessed the full transformation of Jack Perry, who finally has a direction and can't wait to see what the future holds for him. MJF/Cole was absolutely madness. The crowd is so into it, it's definitely AEW's hottest act at the moment. The Blood and Guts match was absolutely chaotic, but I think it's the weakest one thus far. Not saying it was bad, au contraire, some spots made me absolutely uncomfortable in a good way. Kota Ibushi looked a tad lost, but it was so nice to see him back. The Britt Baker squash match could've been handled differently. Pretty much no progress in their storyline. Overall, an A- dynamite, and can't wait to see the next time they come to Boston.
