111.01.2024arrancar6.0Quite a good show, with half the matches being good and the other half being decent when accounting for their mostly short durations, though I actually thought the best matches here weren't actually the highest rated ones. Titan vs Douki was quite good. Titan impressed with his energetic and flashy offence, and Douki likewise impressed with his varied offence. They had very good chemistry and an excitingly quick pace, with Titan's comeback making for a fun finishing stretch. ***1/4. Kanemaru vs Connors was fine. Connors' beatdown work was decently aggressive, while, Kanemaru was endearing as the veteran babyface with solidly executed counters, leading to some decently entertaining run-on counters. **3/4. Kushida vs Sho was mixed but fun. I enjoyed all their skilful position- and submission-trades. We all knew Sho would eventually throw off that 'serious' facade, but it was good while it lasted. The interference obviously sucked, but Kushida overcoming it all was cathartic. **3/4. Bushi vs Wato was fine. Bushi was surprisingly exciting because of his physicality and fire, while Wato had some nicely athletic offence. Their chemistry was very slightly off at times but mostly pretty good. A shame it ended just as it was picking up. **3/4. Taguchi vs Bailey was really good and probably my MOTN, following the compelling story of Bailey's athleticism and energy vs Taguchi's intelligence and experience. I enjoyed Bailey's flashy attacks, but I even more enjoyed Taguchi's sudden evasions and big counters. Bailey also did well selling his targeted leg, with both doing well teasing that Taguchi might actually pull off the upset, especially with Taguchi's many exciting hope spots and near falls. ***1/2. Eagles vs Moloney was another really good match. It was straight-forward and hard-hitting focussed around the exciting clash of Moloney's aggression and power vs Eagles' speed, agility, high-flying, and technical work. Moloney's disrespectful character work really shined, and I enjoyed the variety in Eagle's leg-targeting work plus his fiery comebacks. The final 1/3rd's trades and counters had really strong intensity, urgency, and chemistry, and the finish was awesome. ***1/2. TJP vs Lio was pretty good, featuring some nice displays of speed and agility as both guys essentially went 50/50 the whole time. It was nothing exceptional, and had a very simplistic structure, but it was definitely still quite impressive and exciting, and featured a handful of very cool ideas. Their chemistry was also perfect about 98% of the time. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Yoh vs Knight was extremely forgettable but still fine. Yoh had nice basics but failed to make them more exciting, whereas Knight had some impressive athletic stunts but they never looked convincingly impactful. Fine story of Yoh targeting Knight's leg to limit his offence, though Knight's selling was never very compelling. **1/2. Ishimori vs Hiromu was unfortunately sabotaged by Ishimori injuring his shoulder, which brought the match to a sloppy and very awkward end. Before that, though, it was quite good, featured some pretty fun character work and some spots from both guys, and they'd only just started moving into their more exciting trades and sudden counters, which likely would've led to the match becoming more exciting. Great shame this ended how it did, but it was ultimately still a fine 10-min match in isolation. **3/4. Despy vs Akira was pretty good but honestly disappointing as a BOSJ Korakuen main-event. I thought everything they did was pretty good, from Despy's general aggression and varied leg-targeting to Akira's energetic comebacks and mostly really consistent leg-selling, but I sadly never felt they did anything of a higher level, at least never for very long, and their bigger spots never felt as significant as they should've. ***1/4 - ***1/2

415.12.2023Telecine8.0Diese Card enthielt einige wirklich gute Matches. Alles in allem also eine sehr starke Show mit zahlreichen guten Matches.
Of The Super Junior XXX. Lio Rush vs. TJP sehr stark. 8 Punkte.

708.06.2023Judestar8.0This was SO close to being one of my favourite BOSJ shows of all time but that Ishimori injury is just really unfortunate, still easily the best show of the tour though with Taguchi/Bailey, Lio/TJP being great and Desperado/Akira easily becoming the MOTT thus far.

1001.06.2023lilroro4.0Akira treated horribly. I don't like the way of New Japan's treatment of Akira . Preferential treatment for Desperado is a shit barrier for others development.

1725.05.2023SKeL8.0Good show with a loud crowd in korakuen hall and an amazing main event, but the first part of the show was kinda boring exept for the opener so I can't go higher than 8/10 ---- Sidenote : wtf is that comment below mine ? WM35 lasted 5 and a half hour while this show is less then 3 hours so the comparison is absolutely preposterous

2323.05.2023Visual Kei7.0What a good event day. 2 absolute awesome matches. 1st Match: ***1/2 (great submission phase) 2nd Match: ***1/4 3rd Match: *** 4th Match: *** 5th Match: ***1/2 6th Match: ***1/2 (sick finish) 7th Match: ****1/2 (It was how we could have had expected! ) 8th Match: ***1/2 9th Match: ***1/2 (good match although Taijis injury) 10th Match: ****1/4 (best performance as singles wrestler from Akira. I dont like him as a human, but as a performer, I respect him) 7/10
8/10 Brote

3522.05.2023ZooWee9.0Some great midcard matches like Rush vs. TJP and Bailey vs. Taguchi along with an absolute banger of a main event led to this being the best night so far. Only real downside is Ishimori's unfortunate injury.

3822.05.2023Jingu-Reo10.0As others have written this has been the show of the tournament. Even with the Hiromu/Ishimori stoppage this show was so good. Everyone brought their A game. Very true to form of what one expects from NJPW BOSJs. Lets go DESPY!
3922.05.2023Rossg1710.0Best show of the tournament so far with mostly great matches and one of if not the best main event match that NJPW has put on in Korakuen Hall in recent memory. Titan vs DOUKI (**3/4), Clark Connors vs Yoshinobu Kanemaru (**3/4), KUSHIDA vs SHO (**3/4), BUSHI vs Master Wato (***1/4), Mike Bailey vs Ryusuke Taguchi (***3/4), Dan Moloney vs Robbie Eagles (***3/4), Lio Rush vs TJP (****), Kevin Knight vs YOH (***), Hiromu Takahashi vs Taiji Ishimori (***3/4), El Desperado vs Francesco Akira (*****)

4621.05.2023Oswuold9.0Best or second best night of the tournament. A fantastic main event and some other good match. ****1/2
4721.05.2023Vito9.0The best tournament night so far. Best match of the tournament with the intrigue, pressure and great technique. Nice job from Bailey, Taguchi, TJP and Rush. Not bad Knight and YOH bout and cool start from Hiromu and Taiji with the accidental injury. 9/10
4821.05.2023Codebreaker8.0Trotz Ishimori Verletzung war es wieder eine gute Show. Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Mike Bailey, Robbie Eagles vs. Dan Moloney, Lio Rush vs. TJP und El Desperado vs. Francesco Akira waren alle empfehlenswert.
