| 1 | 20.03.2024 | Scott Bailey | 10.0 | Awesome episode of Raw and it just sets the tone perfectly for what the show was going to be all about going forward! The storytelling is great with Wrestlemania around the corner and it ends with a controversial Sid vs Bret cage match where both of their hated rivals run in to try and help them win. That match is a lot of chaotic fun, but even better was Bret completely losing his shit after the match and the swear filled promo with the cage being taken apart is an iconic Raw moment! The storylines are more prominent than the matches which makes sense on a go-home show, but this does still have solid stuff like HHH v Funk with Chyna's first match as a manager and Bulldog v Vader which had an awesome suplex from Bulldog. Even the mini match was far better than expected because Sagrada Jr. is awesome and does some absolutely insane moves like that dive off the stage! This also had Billy Gunn challenge Ken Shamrock and then regret it afterwards. It's a great show full of iconic and memorable moments where the crowd was just hot for everything! |

I'm glad I get a chance to see how things took form. The finish with the undertaker, Steve Austin, sid, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels was such a cool way to lead into WrestleMania. These five guys carried 97 and 98 with Sid to a lesser extent. It's amazing that Vince was so desperate to shed contracts given where he was a year later. |

Eine solide go home Show für Wrestlemania. Vor allem die beiden großen Main Events bekommen nochmal Zeit und enden in einem etwas zu langen Brawl am Ende. Gut war allerdings die Promo von Bret nach dem Match. Das Cage Match war erstaunlich kurz aber diente eher der Story. Ähnlich wie heute, hat die Stipulation nahezu keine Bedeutung. Die Matches waren soweit in Ordnung, lediglich das Match der Minis wirkte völlig deplatziert und kam auch total aus dem Nichts. |

Das Shawn Michaels Interview im Ring mit seiner damaligen selbstverliebten Art war furchtbar, also furchtbar dass er damals wirklich seinen eigenen "Hype" geglaubt hat und Vince McMahon guckte ihn an, als sei er verliebt in ihn gewesen, wirklich nicht schön anzuschauen. Richtig gut war Bret Harts verbaler Ausbruch am Ende der Show, zumindest eine richtig wütende Ansage konnte der Hitman halten, kam glaubwürdig rüber. Die Eingriffe am Ende wirkten mir, im starken Kontrast zu Harts Promos, viel zu inszeniert unf aufgesetzt. Notiz am Rande: In der ersten Reihe machte jemand Werbung für "RF Video". |

The opening match and segment did a fun job hyping up the Chicago Street Fight at Wrestlemania. Then Chyna helps Hunter get the unclean victory. Also, Mascarita Sagrada is the fucking man. I think the Sultan gimmick is embarrassing but anytime you get to watch The Iron Sheik wave around an Iranian flag it's a fun time. HBK is back from retirement and he says he has a lot of "face to spill" in his new home in San Antonio, which was one of the funniest spoonerisms I've heard in a promo. Davey and Vader had a good match which was hindered by its unclean finish. Austin cut's a good promo after Gunn's match. Afterwards, the champion of the whole company incoherently rambled about something, so that's... fun? The main event wasn't a bad match, but the real entertainment came from watching Austin and Taker trying to help their respective WM13 opponents get the win so they could have their own title shot. Bret cut a good promo after the match and then incited a brawl between Sid, Taker, Austin and himself, where we get to see the foundations of Bret's heel turn being built. Also, HBK somehow shoehorned his way into the last segment even though it made little sense, which is a true testament to his ego. |
| 22 | 13.02.2017 | HudE | 6.0 | Eine Show die mal wieder enorm von der Bret Hart vs. Austin Fehde profitierte, da sie ansonsten nicht sehr viel zu bieten hatte. Die LOD vs. NOD Fehde ist völlig unspektakulär aufgebaut worden, was auch für HHH vs. Goldust galt. Goldy und HHH hatten zwar etwas mehr Intensität in ihrer Fehde, jedoch war ein Match zwischen den beiden damals auch nicht gerade das Gelbe vom Ei. Das Mini's Match war ein schlechter Witz und damit waren auch schon die ersten 45 Minuten vorbei, ohne das etwas nennenswertes passierte. Danach wurde die Show aber mit einem jammernden Bret Hart und einem Shawn Michaels, der ziemlich schnell sein Lächeln wieder zurück gewonnen hatte, deutlich besser. Das European Title Match war ebenfalls gut gebookt und Austin war von Shamrock unterhaltsamerweise überhaupt nicht beeindruckt. Der ME und seine Nachwirkungen waren bärenstark gemacht und ohne Zweifel der Schlüsselmoment dieser Show. Einzig Michaels, der natürlich beim wichtigsten Segment der Show nicht fehlen durfte, weil das sein rießiges Ego verletzt hätte, passte überhaupt nicht ins Bild. |

Funk gegen Hunter ist auch keine Offenbarung, zudem unspannend, da Hunter 'up & rising' erscheint und das neue Gespann mit Chyna beworben sein will. Mini Goldust, Mini Mankind, Mini Vader, Mini Unterhaltung. Der Sultan fertigt einen Jobber ab und Tony Atlas unterbindet eine Attacke Rockys - diese Fehde wird relativ lahm aufgebaut, gänzlich ohne Motivation oder Brisanz. Es folgt eine Michaels Promo, der ankündigt, dass er bald wieder ins Geschehen eingreift - pünktlich nach WrestleMania, wo er sich eigentlich hätte für Bret Hart hinlegen müssen. Jaja, damals war HBK schon ein kleiner verlogener Lümmel. Der Bulldog siegt per DQ und er und Owen gewinnen weiterhin Stück für Stück den Respekt des Publkums zurück. Billy Gunn bekommt einen Jobber und einen kleinen Eindruck von Shamrocks Fähigkeiten, wobei sich Steve Austin sehr zu meinem Amusement gänzlich unbeeindruckt zeigt. Das Cagematch ist jetzt inhaltlich kein Kracher, das Ende und der tolle Hype als Konsequenz daraus wissen jedoch allemal zu überzeugen. Einzig das Einmischen des eigentlich unbeteiligten Michaels in den abschliessenden Brawl will nicht ins Bild passen. Die letzte halbe Stunde ist stark, der Rest der Show im Vergleich dazu jedoch mindestens zwei Klassen schlechter. |

Die Minis interessieren dann nicht wirklich. Bell ist für den Sultan kein Problem, der interessiert aber auch niemanden und bekommt dann aus dem Nichts den IC-Title Shot. Und dann ist HBK wieder da und er hat sein Lächeln wieder gefunden, toll, ich kauf ihm nichts ab. Bulldog gegen Vader war ordentlich, endet aber dann doch absehbar in einer DQ. Gunn hat keine Probleme mit seinem Gegner. Dann kommt es interessanterweise zu einer Konfrontation mit Shamrock. Dann noch ne klasse Promo von Austin. Der Main Event war ordentlich, am Ende gab es natürlich die Eingriffe der jeweiligen Wrestlemania-Gegner. Interessant war hier, dass Austin und der Taker für den jeweiligen Gegner eingegriffen haben, damit es bei WM im jeweiligen Match um den Titel gehen kann. Und dann kommt noch ein ganz starker Abschluss mit einer klasse Promo und einem starken Brawl. So lässt man eine Show vor Wrestlemania enden. Insgesamt eine ganz gute Show. |

Flash Funk was a terrible gimmick as a face so and the entrance seems so drawn out that it'd be impossible to ever really get over. Scorpio and HHH actually have lots of chemistry with each other and kick the show off with a really good outing. There's a rare gem of a commercial for WrestleMania 13 jackets where Howard Finkel is proposing a "Best of Howard Finkel Announcements" VHS tape and Vince McMahon proposes an announcer's headset/toupee combo be made. With only one prior Raw match against a jobber, The Sultan is #1 contender for The Rock's Intercontinental title for WrestleMania and extremely not over with the crowd even with Iron Sheik and Bob Backlund in his corner. Tony Atlas holds Rocky back from fighting the Sultan who just awkwardly stands in front of Rocky. Shawn Michaels makes his first appearance since he "lost his smile" and it's treated as a giant return even though it's only been a couple weeks Shawn claims to have found his smile (must be code for month long coke binge). Legendary moment when Bret Hart snaps on McMahon and cuts his "This is Bullshit" promo. |
