[6.0] "It's a historic show, but it's disappointing! I did enjoy the ECW stuff here. The matches was okay from their side of things although they are kept short as a way to introduce the talent to the fans. Sabu jumping off the Raw sign was a great spot, but for some reason its completely missed by the camera. Worse still is that annoying thing WWF was doing where they chose to do an Undertaker interview right at the end of Dreamer vs D-Von so the finish of the match is on split screen. Ridiculous! Heyman has the same kind of chemistry with Lawler as he did with JR four years later where the constant barbs they was throwing at each other made it look like they legit hated each other. Lawler is absolute peak heel with this storyline. Unfortunately Paul Heyman was right about this show sucking without ECW as everything outside of them is poor save for the LOD returning and Shamrock! The WWF matches are poor on this show where absolutely nothing goes to a finish and on top that they are bland to watch!"
"[7.0] Of all the random episodes of Raw and Nitro I watched in my teenage years, this one still stands out as perhaps the most memorable. The in-ring stuff was at best immaterial and at worst terrible not listed on this entry is a very long and drawn out arm wrestling match between Marlena and Sunny that involves the Honky Tonk Man for some reason? but the energy and chaos of the broadcast was hard to beat. Herman, a genuine live wire; the crowd, fully ready for what they're in for and making the ECW segments feel huge; Lawler, the damp blanket trying to kill the party. Ken Shamrock being there and LOD returning are cherries on top. Far greater than the sum of its parts, and still one of my favorite Raw episodes to go back and re-watch."
[3.0] "This show is pretty bad, I like the invasion story line and the shorter matches are actually better than the stuff you can rate. Main event is slow and boring, Lawler cries all night on commentary about how he doesn't like wrestling from the get go, just not a good show. 2.5/10"
[5.0] "Fairly significant show in the fact that this is the first time ECW got national exposure. Also the WWF TV debut of Ken Shamrock and the return of LOD. Outside of that I thought it was an average show. Three ECW matches, none of which were particularly good and had no relevance to advancing anything WWF related outside of Lawler and Heyman's feud. There was some good banter between Lawler and Heyman. Most of the top stars were absent this week, no Sid, no Bret, no Vader, no Mankind. Main event between Faarooq and Taker was decent but probably went on a few minutes longer than it should have."
[7.0] "in fact, this show is a big event for wrestling. So it didn't seem like something big and didn't particularly surprise. However, it was interesting to watch all the time and it definitely went down in history"
[9.0] "This was a great piece of television! ECW matches on the card, Ken Shamrock is introduced to WWF fans, Sabu jumping off the raw sign, the return of LOD. I'm watching WWF, WCW, and ECW in chronological order and this time period is the best WWF has been. Way more interesting than the golden years, and not as unnecessarily busy as the later Attitude days. Sid, Bret, Vader, Undertaker, Lafon, Furnas, Goldust, Austin, Foley, Owen, Shawn, Ron Simons. This was a phenomal time to be a fan. The rewatch is very fun and this raw shows why."

[6.0] "Eine interessante Ausgabe von RAW, da einige Dinge angestoßen werden aber matchtechnisch war das recht dünn. Es war zwar keine ECW Invasion, wie der Name vermuten lässt, dennoch wurde diese Fehde mit Jerry Lawlor hier gestartet und der Teil mit dem kurzen Handgemenge war ziemlich cool. Ansonsten gaben die ECW Matches wirklich nichts her. Die Charaktere wurden entsprechend kurz vorgestellt aber an sich sind die Matches nicht wichtig. D-Von vs. Dreier endet z.B. als der Undertaker grad ein Interview gibt. Dennoch könnte es in den kommenden Wochen interessant werden. Sehr coolants, dass die Road Warriors wieder da sind. Hatte ganz vergessen, dass die 97 nochmal für einen Run in der WWF waren. Match war okay, hat aber ein schwaches Finish. Main Event fand ich hingegen ziemlich boring und hat dazu noch ein schwaches Finish. Der Rest war solide."
[8.0] "This was really cool to see ECW on FFW programming. There is not a standout match, but this is still super cool to see. Ken Shamrock is here, also."
[8.0] ""Man, hasn't this show sucked without ECW on it or what? " YES Paul, it has. ECW being acknowledged by the WWF was one of those added little touches that helped breathe life into their own product. Nothing groundbreaking as far as the matches go, but the novelty of seeing all the ECW talent on Raw, as well as the return of LOD, made this an above-average Raw, at least as far as memorability, for the time."
[5.0] "Very famous and rememberable episode howewer for wrestling stuff this show is far from perfect. Matches with ECW wrestlers are pretty good but very short. LOD made return to WWF. For other parts there nothing interesting."
[5.0] "This show had the potential to become a memorable invasion event, but it was just a showcase of both promotions (WWF and ECW) without any interpromotional match. ECW matches were good, Paul Heyman had a nice commentary and his jokes were at the top. Still there is nothing great to be seen, just typical squash matches and short angles."
[10.0] "This was one of my favorite Monday Night RAW episides as a child. I was already a fan of ECW and it was really cool to see the ECW guys on there. Seeing Sabu was amazing and to me Dreamer vs. D-Von was a great match. ECW kept me into wresrling and seeing ECW on RAW was truly surprising. One of the few times I was totally surprised. Awesome to see."
[5.0] "Die ECW Invasion ist mit Sicherheit zurecht legendär und hilft der ansonsten zeitweise trägen Show ein wenig an Relevanz zu gewinnen. Die Action ist okay, vor allem der Opener überrascht positiv. Ansonsten haben aber die drei weiteren WWF Matches allesamt ein blödes Finish, wodurch nicht einmal die Rückkehr von LOD wirklich zündet. Die Wortgefechte zwischen Lawler und Heyman sind dafür sehr cool, können die Show aber auch nicht auf ein gutes Level befördern. Insgesamt eine sehr mittelmäßige RAW Ausgabe."
[5.0] "Ohne Zweifel eine historische Ausgabe von Raw, aber auch eine mit vielen verpassten Möglichkeiten. Die Matches waren alle ziemlich schlecht, einige sogar furchtbar, da aufgrund der Berlin Show viele WWF Stars nicht anwesend waren und die ECW angst davor hatte die besten Worker einzusetzen aufgrund der ständigen Abwerbeversuche der WCW und WWF. Dem Motto einer Invasion wurde die Show leider auch nicht gerecht, da beide Promotions eher versuchten ihr eigenes Ding durchzuziehen, anstatt tatsächlich eine interessante Show miteinander auszutragen. Die Show hatte aber ohne Zweifel sein eigenes Flair, was zum großen Teil an der Heyman vs. Lawler Fehde lag, jedoch auch an dem krassen Kontrast zwischen dem WWF und ECW Produkt. Erwähnenswert waren sicherlich auch noch die Interviews von Ken Sharmrock, wie auch die Rückkehr der Legion Of Doom. Alles in allem keine gute aber eine Show voller Bizarritäten."
[6.0] "Die New Blackjacks sind ordentlich, das Match aber insgesamt dank der Teilnehmer auf der anderen Seite zu limitiert. Heyman danach richtig stark. Die bWo ist im Haus und macht Spaß. Armdrücken zwischen Marlena und Sunny hätte ich nicht gebraucht, auch wenn es schön anzusehen ist. Die NOD macht Goldust fertig, das ist keine Überraschung. Shamrock kennt King nicht, das ist lustig. Taz gegen Whipwreck in Ordnung, besser ab Sabu, der vom großen R runterspringt, das ist ein cooler Moment. Die LoD ist zurück, das bringt Stimmung rein, coole Sache und ordentliches Match gegen die Headbangers. Dreamer gegen D-Von ist okay, aber interessanter sind hier Lawler und Heyman am Kommentar. Undertaker gegen Faaroq war nichts besonderes und endet so wie man es erwarten kann. Durch die Einbindung der ECW eine wirklich historische Show, der es aber an richtiger Klasse im Ring fehlt."
[6.0] "Zu Beginn gibt es einen zähen Brawl technisch limitierter Teilnehmer - dazu fragwürdig beendet. Anschliessend leiten die Eliminators den Invasion-Teil dieser denkwürdigen RAW-Episode ein und Heyman bringt den Manhattan Center zum Kochen. Das Match zwischen Nunzio und Stevie Richards wird von einem Goldust-Interview und markigen Jerry Lawler Kommentaren begleitet. Armdrücken zwischen Terri Runnels und Sunny ist natürlich hochgradig peinlich. Die NOD verprügelt Goldust gemeinsam - erste Anzeichen der Gang Rulz Mentalität 1997. Miguel Perez ist hier als Personalie vielleicht noch erwähnenswert. Ken Shamrock kennt den King nicht, was an sich schon ziemlich cool ist. Tazz seziert Whipwreck und Sabu bumpt ein wenig nebenher. Die LOD ist wieder da, aber die Headbangers ziehen nicht zurück. Es folgt ein schrecklich schmieriges 'HBK ohne Lächeln'-Musikvideo - tell me a lie. Beim letzten ECW-Match bekommen sich Heyman und Lawler massiv verbal in die Wolle und es droht aus dem Ruder zu laufen. Der Sandman hingegen räumt nochmal ordentlich ab. Faarooq gegen den Taker endet in der absehbaren DQ - wer auch immer nach Ansicht dieses Matches den Main-Event für den KotR '97 zu verantworten hatte, muss bekifft gewesen sein. Eine interessante und durch Anwesenheit der ECW historische Episode, mit fiesem Schlagabtausch zwischen Heyman und Lawler - im Ring aber nicht mehr als mittelmäßig."
[10.0] "Awesome segment where The Eliminators take out a ring tech leading to an impromptu match between Little Guido and Big Stevie Cool. Another cool segment where Sabu takes a fall off the 'R' while further enhancing ECW's Taz/Sabu feud. Crowd goes crazy for a surprise return from the Legion of Doom and even start chanting "Nitro Sucks". First WWF sighting of Ken Shamrock. I couldn't believe how much time Vince McMahon actually gave ECW, more than half this Raw seemed like ECW matches and got one last good showing during the conclusion of the Dreamer/D-von match. The European title debuts next week."
[5.0] "Unterhaltsame Show, obwohl wrestlerisch nichts Dolles dabei war aber die "ECW Invasion" machte die Show natürlich interessant. Die Wortgefechte zwischen Lawler und Heyman sind klasse, beide mussten sich wohl hier nicht sonderlich verstellen."
[3.0] "Ich hätte ja hier am liebsten 3, 5 gegeben aber das wäre dann doch etwas zuviel. ECW Invasion gut und schön aber ernsthaft toll war das auch nicht. Da will sich die ECW als Alternative anbieten aber das erste ECW Match ist zwischen zwei Comedy Gruppierungen. Also eigentlich das was man früher in der WWF auch sehen konnte. Auch lustig ist das man bei Bradshaws Match wirklich "We want Wrestling" Chants hören konnte. Ansonsten hätten wir Nation Abend und Taz gegen einen Dauerjobber. Die Liga hatte schon bessere Shows."
