Got a couple of meh matches, and a pointless angle disguised as a match before finally we get some good stuff even if it does seem a bit hollow given Jericho's track record. Solid Hangman promo snuck into the middle of the show. Main event was a bit disappointing given that MJF and Starks are two of my favorites on the roster. (edited this between a 5 and 6 multiple times over the past few months with context of hindsight)"

[8.0] "Gute Dynamite Ausgabe. Tolles Dynamite."

[8.0] "A great start to the show was done by two high-class trios in their Best of 7 series which has shown a bigger light for advancing the enmity. That opening led to the final layer of the series set for a bonkers run which pulls interest more than before. Perry & Cage had a solid bout where the latter's revitalized run in the brand looks good as well as Perry's rise to the new league. The aftermath stand-off against The Firm w/an unexpected companion in Hook uplifts the attention to their path. House of Black's path of dominance continues on a positive note while the same can't be said for Jericho after a loss at ROH Final Battle. Andretti's blazing debut in AEW's prime screening happened at the expense of the former ROH World Champion thereby formulating a successful 1-2-3 Kid/Razor Ramon dynamic for the promotion. Soho & Melo tried to settle the grudge in a fiery contest, but the result was never met due to Anna's antics right after. The main event was a great first addition to the lineage of MJF's run as the World Champion; kudos to Starks for bringing such a tremendous level of performance in the ring! Both men showcased an old-school stylized title fight where the action was superb, but the storytelling upped a notch cementing both characters deep in the fans' minds. Bryan Danielson as the next target is instantly major enough for MJF to shine brighter than never before because of the story these two have already laid. This is another all-timer of a Dynamite which had undistracted focus on qualitative wrestling as well as progression of stories. If someone haven't believed on Starks till here, this show would change their thinking that results in more support for the charismatic breakout star. 8.5 out of 10 points!"

Insgesamt kaum was richtig schlechtes. Gute Ausgabe!"

[10.0] "I have to say this felt like a perfect episode of TV. The Best of 7 Series started it off, with the NBC NBA music as a fun addition, and delivered another great match. Advancing the story further with the hammer and Nick's ankle, into reasons for the gimmick matches to come. This series is up there with the Magnum TA- Nikita Koloff best of 7 from my childhood. Jack Perry beating Brian Cage builds Jungle Boy, and him teaming with Hook creates a team that would be the best looking team in AEW. If Tiger Beat were to cover wresting, this would be the group. I also am happy that Lee Moriarty is a in good spot with the Firm, and I have the chance to see him in major storylines. Malakai Black is one of my all time favorites, and I hope he gets the push that will bring him happiness. Action beating Jericho was fun, the crowd was really into it. Somehow Andretti is able to get the crowd hyped in every match I've seen. Soho versus Melo was a fun match, and good seeing Soho back. MJF versus Starks was a solid match, and reminded me of the Ric Flair matches when I was a kid. Local babyface getting the big shot, coming up short because of heeling."

Wow, a newcomer just wins the ace of the company and such moments make the episodes much brighter and more positive, let's see what happens to his career next! The House Of Black again seems to be without certainty. The Best Of Seven Series confrontation is reaching its peak and it will be very hot already at the next shows. MJF and Danielson are what we need, it will obviously be very interesting and unusual. Let's further promote the HOOK, it's ready to shine! Guevara will infuriate Garcia and I won't be surprised it will prompt the former champion to leave the Jericho Community Club."

I liked the way the trios match progressed the series, slapnuts popped me, the jericho andretti match was an incredible moment, jungle boy and hook with an unexpected team-up, house of black destroying people, a solid women's match from Ruby and Tay and the main event between MJF and Starks delivered. There's also a case to be made for Texas having AEW's best crowds consistently."

[5.0] "The MJF/Starks match delivered, and the Jericho match was a fun surprise, but the rest of this card was the same old shit from AEW. Another waste of time stupid six man from the elite, Brian Cage and Jungle boy showing us why they're never going to be at the top of any card (with an overbooked finish to boot), The house of black returns, also wasting our time for a whole segment; these guys all seem like they should be interesting but they're somehow not. A women's match that's, as usual, treated like an afterthought (although both girls gave a good effort and it was nice to see Ruby get a win). Oh, and almost every match or in ring segment had someone come out of nowhere and attack someone for fucking no reason. This booking style is so tiresome. After 3 years this is all Tony's got it seems. For god's sake, get Jeff Jarrett off tv and give him the book, or any of the other very qualified people you've got working there. The tv audience is slowly losing viewers, and any chance of garnering a new audience or siphoning viewers from WWE or anywhere else is pretty much gone. The promos on this episode were mostly good though- it really felt different than past episodes pomo-wise."

Well. Gut so. House of Black bekommt eine ganz coole darstellung.

[5.0] "Mediocre show with mostly alright stuff and only the main-event being truly worthwhile. The Elite vs Death Triangle was alright. It was their 4th match in <1 month, and it was the same athletic but pretty heartless spotfest they always do, with nothing to meaningfully distinguish it from their other matches in the series. ***. The Acclaimed getting jumped by Lethal, Jarrett, and co. was a fine beatdown angle, though I don't care for that feud at all. Cage vs Perry was a generic but fun 'indyriffic' spotfest. There were fun high-flying attacks and agile movements from Perry, and decent powerhouse work from Cage. Their chemistry was pretty good, though the structure they worked with didn't allow them to impress too greatly. **3/4. Hook, of all people, running off the giant Big Bill and co. as they attacked Perry in the post-match was pretty laughable for how unbelievable it was. House of Black vs The Factory was a big arena brawl before the match could start, and then Black quickly put QT away one the match officially began. Fine squash for House of Black, and hopefully they now move on to some more serious matches/feuds. TS;NR (too short; no rating). Jericho vs Andretti was very weird, given that this nobody jobber got the upset win, but I can't say it wasn't interesting. Andretti has pretty generic indy high-flyer offence, but he at least delivered all of it very well, and he got a big boost from the crowd (ironically, then genuinely) rallying around him. Jericho's offence was typically limited, though his character work in putting over Andretti's endurance was pretty good. I'm pretty sure this was all just to serve the new Jericho storyline rather than to seriously push Andretti, but it was still alright. ***. Starks' backstage promo was very good, with his heartfelt delivery and engaging content making him very endearing. Ruby vs Tay was fine. There weren't any outright botches or overly awkward moments, but their chemistry was pretty average, they both clearly held back with their impact, and they didn't have much creativity. They had some okay moments but never consistently. **1/2. Neither Anna's post-match attack on Ruby, nor the seemingly implied future match between the two, was interesting. Page's backstage interview on his October injury could have been impactful if not for his melodramatic delivery and then the goofy-as-hell Uno right over his shoulder doing a bunch of silly gesticulating in response to everything Page said. MJF vs Starks was the only worthwhile thing on the show, and it was pretty good. It wasn't a great display of athleticism or creativity, and it was actually pretty sloppy at points, but both guys played their respective roles well and made the best with the generic formula they had, with MJF being very detestable and Starks being very sympathetic and showing great fire. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Danielson chasing MJF out and thus implying a future title match was pretty cool and softened the blow of Starks' loss."

The DT/Elite match, while possibly the weakest of their best of seven matches thus far, still was a lot of fun, and that Jericho/Andretti match was surprisingly awesome. I even really enjoyed the Soho/Melo match. Tay Melo is great when she utilizes her strikes more and doesn't try to be like Sammy Guevara. One other thing that was fantastic about this show was the promos. Starks/MJF/Hangman/Moxley all had really good promos tonight. Besides a couple minor lulls in the show, I thought it was fantastic top to bottom. They have been doing great work since their low point a few weeks ago."

Perry vs Cage was a fun David vs Goliath, Jungle Boy continues to take on the giants of the company. House of Black squash was everything it needed to be. Chris Jericho lost to a "jobber" in the most shocking upset in recent memory that had me riveted. Soho and Melo was good. Main event was less than the caliber of previously established title defenses, but not enough to really ding an overall fantastic episode. The promos and backstage segments throughout were excellent. Hangman's was really emotional for such a short segment. FTR vs Gunns incoming, interested to see that for sure, such different calibers of teams. Then, out of nowhere, Chris Jericho and a jobber pulls out one of my favorite matches of the year. The crowd went insane for this match, and God bless Y2J, he made this guy. Excited to see where he goes forward. MJF is by far the best in world to me at the moment, he's the guy. He makes you feel, everything he does makes sense, and uses everything exactly when it needs to be done. The build with Ricky was very lackluster for me, but the match was pretty good.
