In der Vorwoche latent geteast ist das erste Match in Ordnung, aber schwer hinter den Möglichkeiten. Die ganzen Tag-Teams und dazugehörigen Random-Kombinationen gehen sich gänzlich unkontrolliert an und sortieren leider auch wieder Leute wie Nakamura oder Cesaro komplett unten wieder ein. WTF? Angelo Dawkins kann Chad Gable abschütteln, wobei das Setting in Miami wirklich beeindruckt. Und seine Frau siegt dann auch. Nachdem Edge bei MITB gegen Reigns nicht gewinnen konnte, ist sein nächster high-profile Gegner Seth Rollins. Die Konfrontation mit diesem ist heute nicht originell, aber unterhaltsam. Auch wenn Zelina Vega lange nicht da war, so bin und bleibe ich doch ein großer Toni Storm Fan. Darum ist das Ergebnis für mich vollkommen okay. Jimmy Uso holt ein W, welches wenig Bedeutung ausstrahlt, bevor es doch noch den Auftritt des Big Dog gibt. Der missachtet zunächst einmal Cena, lässt sich aber stattdessen irgendwie auf ein irgendwann folgendes Match mit Finn Balor ein. Eine bunte Show ohne so richtiges Highlight. |

Der Opener zwischen Finn Balor und Sami Zayn war ein gutes Match für Finn Balor, um im Main Roster sein In-Ring-Comeback zu feiern. Die Überraschung, dass'Reigns im Schlusssegment Cenas Herausforderung ablehnt und dann die von Balor akzeptiert, fand ich auch durchaus gelungen und bin durchaus neugierig, wie sie die Situation mit den zwei Herausforderern jetzt auflösen. Ebenso ist die Promo von John Cena wie schon bei Raw einige Tage zuvor gelungen. Generell ist es deutlich spürbar, welch ein anderes Niveau Cena und Edge bei dieser Show am Mikrofon haben, als die restlichen Performer. Bei Edge ist es im Dialog mit dem am Mic sehr limitierten Seth Rollins besonders deutlich. Was bei dieser Show am meisten stört, sind die eingespielten Zuschauerreaktionen. Vor der Pandemie hätte man die vielleicht gar nicht so sehr bemerkt, aber seit dem Thunder Dome kennen wir diese crowdnoise.mp3 Geräusche einfach auswendig und speziell bei den Matches beim Rolling Loud Festival ist es auf schmerzhafte Weise offensichtlich, dass sich die Zuschauer eines Hip Hop Festivals keinen Deut für Wrestlingmatches interessieren und der frenetische Jubel lediglich aus dem Archiv kommt. Ich fand es auch eher unangenehm, dass diese Matches dort stattgefunden haben. Bei einer Wrestling Show wie WrestleMania sind die Fans teilweise auch extrem kritisch, wenn sie von Konzerteinlagen unterbrochen wird. Umgekehrt ist es sogar noch schlimmer, wenn Konzerte durch Wrestling unterbrochen werden, weil Wrestling so ein Nischenprodukt ist, dass die Schnittmenge von Fans, die sich für beides interessieren, sehr gering sein dürfte. Nicht mehr als eine Fußnote ist das Debüt von Toni Storm. Wie schon Karrion Kross (und Keith Lee) bei Raw, wird auch Storm einfach in die Show geschmissen, ohne dass sie wie eine große Sache wirkt. Auf diese Weise droht sie genauso wie so viele andere Debütanten der letzten Jahre ganz schnell zu einem durchschnittlichen und unauffälligen Teil der Show zu werden. |

Cena knows how to get the crowd hot. Corbin is actually watchable now and he's playing his role well. Edge/Seth segment was okay. Edge is fantastic on the mic and Seth is hit or miss but this segment wasn't the best of either guy. Roman's promo to close the show was fantastic. I've said how I enjoy Roman's Tribal Chief persona and he's usually good in his promos but a lot of them feel the same. He's got the demeanor and the voice but his heel promos lack the creativity I like. That was not the case here because this promo was great all the way through. Loved how he made fun of Cena and just brushed him off. Balor challenging Roman feels like a filler arc but It was a nice surprise. |

The low point of the show was comfortably the two matches that took place at the festival as it was clear that the crowd there had absolutely no interest in what they were seeing. Elsewhere, Storm v Vega did exactly what it needed to, Mysterio v Uso was a fine TV match and the closing segment was good, but I can only assume that the Balor/Reigns feud will last a couple weeks at most. |

Den Festival-Auftritt möchte ich auch garnicht all zu sehr kritisieren. WWE betreibt hier völlig legitime Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und eine gewisse Anzahl an jungen Menschen mit Live-Wrestling zu konfrontieren, wird bestimmt einige davon mal zum Einschalten bringen. Die beiden Matches sind auch klassische Vorführ-Auftritte: wenig Story, viel Tempo. Im Endeffekt nicht all zu schlecht. Die Stimmung hat man fürs Fernsehn auch beschönigt. Ich freue mich zudem sehr für Toni, dass sie es zum Debüt bei den Main Shows geschafft hat. Wünsche ihr aber, dass sie dem negativen Entwicklungsbeispiel einiger Vorgängerinnen nicht folgt und sich selbst treu bleibt. Beim Debüt war sie merklich nervös und etwas unsicher. Außerdem habe ich das bisher beste Match vom jungen Dominik gesehen, der langsam etwas selbstbewusster wird und auch vermehrt starke Aktionen zeigt. Am Ende gibts dann einen kleinen Schockmoment, der Balór plötzlich ins Titelgeschehen einbindet. Bin sehr gespannt, wie die Story weitergeht. Auf Owens und Corbin als Team hätte ich mal gar keine Lust. Eine Fehde wäre das kleinere Übel, wobei ich mir für KO einen interessanteren Gegner wünsche |

| 17 | 25.07.2021 | dexterwhite | 6.0 | well friday was a take of 3 shows all rolled into one.. we'll start with cena opening the show part 2 as we all seen the monday but adding paul to the mix here elevated the segment to an (8).. finn vs sami was a good match it did what it needed to do which is put finn over so a solid (7).. now.. the random brawl with IC title Implications.. this was just plain lazy booking and didn't even have a payoff with a match on t. v.. more on that shortly.. this whole thing was a fail (1)... now on to the i went to a concert and a wrestling match broke out segment.. i get wwe wants to expand the eyes on the product but this didn't land like they hoped it would from all reports it was a lifeless crowd to begin with so this falls under the know your audience and this one wasn't it the 2 matches were fine but nothing special ( 3)... edge and rollins promo segment was excellent to veterans going back and forth sold the upcoming match that could steal summerslam ( 9).. toni vs vega.. pretty short outing toni gets the win as to what they're doing with vega is anyones guess signed her to lose matches so far ( 3).. jimmy vs dom was a good match right guy went over as dom continues his on the job training but the future looks good for him (6).. ending roman segment is the best i've ever heard him on the mic and adding finn to the mix this quick is interesting cena is still in the match tho (9) |

| 29 | 24.07.2021 | marexcel | 7.0 | Der Ausflug zum Rolling Loud Festival war wild. Keine Reaktionen, kein Interesse, schwierige Kameraführung und ungewohntes Produktionsniveau. Letztendlich nahmen die Parts aus Miami keine 15 Minuten der Show ein und so hat das fehlgeschlagene Experiment für mich auch entsprechend wenig Einfluss auf die Show. Die Fehde von Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy hat jedoch etwas mehr verdient. Die Parts aus Cleveland waren deutlich besser. Cena liefert eine passende Promo und Balor vs. Sami einen sehenswerten Opener. Wirklich stabil, wie das klickt. Bei Broke Corbin bin ich weiter gespannt, wie man da zu einem Payoff kommen möchte. Das Title Picture vom Intercontinental Title ist arg random, aber ebenso gut besetzt. Als Herleitung für das Dark Match für die Live Crowd war das okay und generell geht da bei den Wrestlern ja was. Edge und Rollins mit einem guten Aufbau für ihr wohl anstehendes SummerSlam-Duell. Toni steht die große Bühne gut, die Action hat ein, zwei Lücken, aber das Empfinden habe ich bei Toni ja recht häufig. Uso vs. Mysterio ist ordentlich, aber das Finish sah bisschen paddelig aus. Abschluss kommt überraschend, aber nehme ich dann gerne so mit. Balor steht diese Face-Underdog-Rolle ziemlich gut. Wünschenswert, wenn das mehr als eine Fillermatch bei SmackDown wir, aber davon ist wohl nicht auszugehen. Gute Überraschung zum Ende einer unterhaltsamen Show. |

Es ist halt immer das gleiche, genau wie eben die Eröffnungpromo wo Cena gefühlt seit 15 Jahren das gleiche erzählt und die Fans anbiedert. In der Halle bei den Fans kam es zumindest halbwegs gut an. Balor vs. Zayn war ok. Lowlight der Ausgabe die beiden Matches beim Hip Hop Festival. Die Fans dort hat es nicht interessiert und zu Belair Fans werden die wohl auch nicht mehr werden, wenn man sie zum ertsen Mal sah. Das Match wurde mit einem "We want puppies" Steinzeit Chant quittiert. |

Reigns kam nicht raus um Cena Herausforderung zu beantworten. Der Opener war in Ordnung. Balor unterbrach Zayn letzte Woche und hier kam es zum Match. Spaßiges Match auch wenn es nicht lange ging. Big E konnte vielleicht zwei Sätze sagen bis Crews unterbricht und Ziggler mit Roode dann noch Nakamura und Cesaro hinzukamen. Da hat Crews alle Hände voll zu tun seinen Titel zu verteidigen. Gable vs Dawkins war schlecht. Die Women waren schlecht. Die zwei Matches beim Rap Festival in Miami waren unnötig da hätte ich lieber das Six Man Tag-Team Match gesehen. Den Fans haben anscheinend die Matches nicht wirklich interessiert und warum Carmella ein Rematch um den Titel erhält ist mir schleierhaft. Edge und Rollins liefern sich ein tolles Wortgefecht was ihr Match für Summerslam voranbringt. Die Women #2 waren schlecht. Toni ist zum Glück wieder Face da ihr Heelrun bei NXT mächtig floppte. Zelina wurde wohl nur als Jobberin zurückgeholt sah aber im Match auch nicht so gut aus. Der Main-Event war schlecht. Einige Botches die nicht zu übersehen waren mit dem selben Ende vom PPV zum Sieg der Usos. Aber ich denke ein Rematch kommt auch für Summerslam zustande. Das Endsegment war in Ordnung. Vorerst nimmt Reigns Cenas Herausforderung nicht an wird aber demnächst passieren. Dafür nimmt er Balors Herausforderung an wann immer die auch sein mag. Die Matches beim Rap Festival zogen die Show mächtig runter. |

Cena, Edge, Rollins, and Reigns all had great promos tonight, and Corbin's segment was hilarious. I love his new gimmick. Matches were decent, with the opener being the best of the bunch. Rolling Loud matches were okay but suffered from the weird setting and heavy time constraints. Toni and Vega had a good match that I wish got more time, but both women had a good showing. Uso/Dom was good too but had a sloppy finishing sequence. Balor getting a title match so soon was surprising but I imagine it will just take place on SmackDown and we still get Cena/Reigns at the PPV. Overall a decent show that felt a little off due to the unusual Rolling Loud section. |
