[3.0] "I've been trying to get through AEW from the beginning and now that I've hit 2021, I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as I did in the beginning. This show is a perfect example of why: They're pushing guys no one cares about. I get it. You want new homegrown talent and should always be on the lookout for the next big thing but giving people like Q.T. Marshall and Ethan Page a lot of airtime isn't going to get them over. Good storylines might, but they're not getting that anymore. Just a dull episode leading into the PPV with an uneventful weigh-in segment that did nothing to make me want to see Anthony Ogogo."

[6.0] "Average show if you consider my opinion . Nothing on the card was remarkable or outstanding . The MOTN was Janela/Page followed closely by Dark Order/Sky and Page . Allin/Bononi was a decent squash match and Miro/Dante was fun while it lasted . Jade/Kilynn was simply awful and atrocious . The weigh in was not good . Why are QT and Co. hanging out with a guy who abuses USA when they are themselves Americans and why is Ogogo cursing the US when it is the American QT that is providing him livelihood . Confusing to say the least . Cody America is very stale and QT acting all dumb because of the 1 lb advantage probably resulted in me losing some brain cells and why was Paul licking Cody? s popsicle so much . Probably wants a pay raise (kayfabe) lol . Cage/Hobbs brawl backstage was fun and the confrontation between Page and Cage in the ring was intense and enjoyable as well. Archer? s promo was not good but I liked his confrontation with Miro which got physical . Moxley and Eddie cut a good promo too . The stuff with PAC , Orange and Omega was gold with Orange standing tall. Baker/Shida stuff was cool and so was the Sting/Allin d Sky/Page segment with all the Sting masks until Sky finds himself face to face with the real Sting . To close the show with the Inner Circle celebration and the brawl between Pinnacle and Inner Circle after Pinnacle took Malenko hostage and beat him up was a very good way to close the show . For a go home show this was not impressive at all . But it does have me hyped for DoN. Also , the vignettes , promos and segments were all good with some shaky parts such as the weigh in and the Archer promo . Overall , not the best but not terrible by any means or anything like that . 6 for me . And yeah it was great to see the crowds back."

Gutes Tag Team Match zwischen den Men Of The Year und der Dark Order.

JR & Tony messed up on commentary again, and JR used his "scolded dog" quip too much (for both faces & heels interestingly) The weigh in was one of the worst segments I've ever seen from any promotion. Before that though, Paul Wight coming out for that promo? he looked EXHAUSTED... and sounded so flat. The matches while decent were super quick. The OC walk out staredown at the end of the massive brawl was just plain funny. One of the worst Dynamite shows I've ever seen."

Some segments worked very well, like Orange Cassidy's bit and the Inner Circle goodbye(? ), and some didn't work very well, like the Cody weigh in."

[4.0] "There's some novelty value in having the crowd back but this episode didn't really make the most of it. Reviews so far pick the first half as the worst half but it was the other way for me. The episode was okay at the start but really took a dive from the Cargill match onwards, with that match and the final tag match both being snoozers which felt much longer than they were. I can't really say that there's a single match, story, or angle that I'm hyped about for Double or Nothing. Everything feels thrown together other than maybe Baker vs Shida which has history ironically in thanks to the division being so shallow in the past."

[4.0] "Allin vs. Bononi being chosen for the reintroduction of crowds was an odd choice. Felt very flat from the outset, Cezar wouldn't make a top 50 workers in the mens division, shouldn't be out there. The Cody/Ogogo segment was terrible. Paul Wight is looking like AEW's worst signing after Ivelisse, and he probably came with a fairly large price tag. He's a low energy commentator on Elevation that can barely get through a sentence, doesn't know what the goal of any segment or match is. Immediately tries to put himself over by talking down to Anthony (why? ), says his squad runs deep so he must be scared (Ogogo had like 4 people with him - his faction), and then Cody comes out with legit 50 people...... immediately Paul looks like an idiot, and it just makes both guys look weak. What was happening here? And then Paul can't figure out the scale so everyone's awkwardly waiting. Why were the weights not just kayfabed again? And QT Marshall immediately exposed himself as second rate, can't talk for shit. The Mark Sterling/Jade storyline, which has been dragged on for weeks, just sort of resolved itself backstage. Jade did well in her first match in front of a live crowd though, looks money. Adam Page match and post match segments were fine, nothing spectacular. Yet another guy covered in blood, AEW definitely goes overboard with the it. Miro vs. Dante was basically a dark match, the post match with Archer was decent. The Shida segment was baffling. Tony gives her a new belt, which is great. But he has no idea how to put it on. Shida gets to say about three sentences (does well), until Britt Baker (AEW's chosen one) has to make it all about her again. I know they are feuding but they've given Shida very little in the past year, let alone this feud. Couldn't even put together a little video package? Not to mention she was racially mocked on Spanish commentary during this segment. Dark order tag match was fine, again, nothing spectacular. Inner Circle promos were actually good, as was the stadium beat down - and I'm not really a fan of either faction really. Other than that, the show was marred by several technical/production errors. Cutting away from promos for ads, mics not working, random entrance music playing during a match. That in combination with what seemed to be a lack of rehearsals made the show come off as amateurish, paul struggling with the scales, tony can't put on the belt. None of the matches were any good really. A rare poor show."

[3.0] "This feels like the first Dynamite maybe ever that you could've skipped and missed absolutely nothing. Just total filler to kill time until DoN. Matches happened. Promos happened. Multiple production botches that made the show look like some fly-by-night mudshow fed. Really just nothing to comment on, oh yeah, except for Cody Rhodes once again being the consistently worst thing on AEW programming. Ogogo comes out with four or five of his buddies, so Cody needs to come out with his entire extended family and all of his students that pay him a thousand bucks a month to watch him sniff his own farts. Because of course he does. QT cuts a heel promo and gets run out of the ring, and Cody just *has* to grab the mic and puts over Big Show just so he could have the last word. Because of course he does. I really hope Ogogo just liver punches Cody to the astral plane and Cody spends the next year (or two) (or forever) on paternity leave with his perfect biracial child who will single-handedly solve racism in America. Very poor go home show, especially for a company that only does quarterly PPVs. Having a live crowd was pretty nice though."

[3.0] "This show was not good. None of the matches went over 10 minutes, and while the matches were technically fine, I won't remember any of them by next week's episode. Darby/Cezar was okay for what it was, a glorified squash. The weigh-in was one of the worst segments AEW has produced in their short history. It dragged on for what felt like 20 minutes for everyone to just leave afterwards despite both sides bringing these huge armies of people. Page/Janela was fine, easily the best match of the show (which isn't saying a lot). Page being bloodied up added a cool visual that I'm hoping wasn't intended because blade jobs are all too frequent in AEW. Cargill/King was fine as well. Jade has a ton of upside long term, and I'm glad AEW knows they have a future top star in their hands. Glad it wasn't a complete squash, but Cargill shouldn't be going 10+ minutes either. Solid showing from both. Miro/Martin was unnecessary and was obviously going to be a squash. I would have hated being in Martin's position of being the babyface of the match but being told that I was going to be killed by my opponent by 5, 000 screaming fans. Shida's segment was good. I'm happy they gave her the opportunity to talk for once. The new belt isn't amazing by any means but it's way better than the belt they've been using. Baker is crazy over with the crowd and if there were any doubts TK had on putting the belt on Baker, hopefully this night convinced him to pull the trigger. Shida is good, and it's a shame she didn't get to have her reign in front of a packed house, but it's clearly Baker's time. Ethan/Sky against the Dark Order was okay. Right team went over obviously and there was never any doubt in the outcome. I didn't watch the Inner Circle segment because I was afraid I would have had to listen to Jack Swagger talk. Overall, this show wasn't all that great. The wrestling was fine, but not up to Dynamite standards, and the weigh in was one of the worst segments I've seen in a while."
AmarantCoral wrote on 29.05.2021:
[4.0] "Very poor Dynamite. Not a single match over 10 minutes and 3 of them under 6, the booking was wholly unremarkable. Worse than the in-ring action, though, was everything else. Almost every segment felt so awkward and poorly improvised, with the weigh-in standing out as particularly awful. There were a couple of decent moments but not enough to compensate for a really disappointing wrestling show. Hoping this was just settling in to the capacity crowd presentation again."
WeHateOkada wrote on 29.05.2021:
[5.0] "A fairly poor show bolstered by a few energising moments. Allin-Bononi was mediocre, but Darby's pace and showmanship (especially in front of the returning live audience) more or less kept it afloat. The Cody-Ogogo segment was not good - QT Marshall's dorky brand of heelishness has a certain charm, but in a segment as limp and lacking in substance as this, it further heightens the awkward, pallid atmosphere, especially as the crowd didn't seem to care much for this. Hobbs & Christian had a nice little brawl segment backstage that looked a little more intense than these things usually do. Page-Janela was solid but mostly unremarkable, save for Page powering through some intense bleeding and a few nice ringside reactions from Sonny Kiss. Nothing worth going out of your way for, but these two have good chemistry together. Moxley & Kingston, as is their way, cut an excellent promo together, simultaneously funny and believably intense, and that was probably the highlight of the show. The PAC-OC-Omega segment was fine, but it was very boiler plate stuff. Good to see all three men, but on a below-average show like this one, it failed to liven things up to any degree. Cargill-King wasn't much of anything - giving Jade someone of her own size to fight made things marginally more interesting, and Sterling seems like a good choice for her manager, but this was still a bit bland. Miro-Martin was fine for the incredibly brief sprint that it was - the promos cut in the aftermath were worse than last week, but the brawl Miro & Archer subsequently had did make me more excited for their upcoming match, so mission accomplished. Shida-Baker was another not-bad-but-not-good-either segment - perfectly functional, but not very interesting either, a tone that starts to drain enthusiasm after a while. Scorpio & Ethan vs The Dark Order was good, especially in its closing stages - it didn't have Page-Janela's consistency, but the teamwork on display was excellent, and all four men involved showed off their charisma and athleticism, so it might have edged out the MOTN honours. Sting wearing a mask of his own face was a very fun throwback. The Inner Circle celebration was technically another middle-of-the-road segment, but if this is the end of the line for them, they deserve an emotional moment like that - and if it isn't, this serves as good little seed of doubt to throw us off the scent. Not exactly a bad episode, just a fairly drab one that failed to properly capitalise on the return of a full crowd."

Wouldn't shock me if it was a little jarring for the wrestlers too to suddenly be in front of a huge crowd again. That first hour just felt "off" imo. Thought the weigh-in segment was bad/bordering on trainwreck and dragged on way too long, and the first hour in general dragged. I still really liked the Shida/Britt promo and the ending with the Inner Circle was great. And am still beyond pumped for Sunday."

This show was the first event with live audience since a long time and they started with a very poor Dynamite episode. The weigh-ins segment was horrible. Matches were very average. Why they replaced women's title for a new one? Jericho's shirt pissed me off, because turning Appetite for Destruction album logo into the Inner Circle version is a HERESY. Show closed with another live tv murder attempt, because two guys got brutally piledrivered onto a football field. What a shitshow..."

Strange first hour with a fairly pointless weigh-in that took forever, and a production snafu during the first attempt at airing the Kingston and Moxley promo - I did pop for Mox calling the Young Bucks "Rod and Todd Flanders". Second hour flowed much better, with a good final segment to build up Stadium Stampede."
