There were good video packages of the Kenny/Mox rivalry as well as the FTR/Jurrasic Express and others as well. I liked the opening squash match . It was a good squash to prepare Moxley for revolution aided by a very good and emotional promo afterwards . A decent Hager/Cutler squash followed by a good VB/FTW match with a very enjoyable post match segment with Sting dragging Hook in a body bag and Darby coming in from the damn rafters and both Sting and Darby taking out Taz and company. I also liked Hangman/Isaiah as well as the post match with Matt involving Dark Order in the feud . The women? s match was very good too and a wonderful main event bout to cap it off . I also appreciate the way Omega? s character is being dealt. A very complex character with long term work . Kenny is a derailed psychopath who thinks himself of the best in the business and will be pissed off on anyone who disagrees and will be willing to step in their home turf to exterminate them permanently . There are segments where he is just doing crazy out of the world stuff like playing golf instead of practicing before his match or being in that construction place where he just looks crazy and it kind of fits in , since he actually is a contender for #1 wrestler in the world and the initial times of AEW saw him going into a decline and now he wants to have revenge on those who believed that by reaching the top any means possible. Back to the show , the only thing I disliked was the Miro, Kip and Penelope segment . I think they are in a meaningless story angle . Another point to appreciate is how they made the YB/Inner Circle feud personal just by doing something as simple as attacking the father of YB. Great show nonetheless. |

Er Hyped mich mit seiner Promo noch mehr auf dieses Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match, was man bei Revolution zusehen bekommt. Tag Team Match danach war auch eher ein Squash Match. Danach ein gutes Segment von Sting und Darby Allin die nach dem Match, Brian Cage und Ricky Starks Vermöbeln. Auch diese Fehde wird weiterhin sehr gut aufgebaut. Danach kommt mal wieder ein Squash Match in dieser Dynamite Episode, was das AEW Tag Team Championship Match zwischen den Young Bucks und Chris Jericho & MJF weiterhin aufbauen soll. In einem Segment danach greifen Jericho und MJF, den Vater der Young Bucks an, was die Fehde noch intensiver gestalten soll. Aber "Papa Buck" brauche Ich nie wieder in einem Segment. So unglaublich schlecht rüber gebracht. Adam Page gegen Isiah Kassidy war ein Gutes Match. Endlich mal kein Squash Match während dieser Episode (***1/4). Das Women's Match garnicht mein Fall. Ich finde die Frauen müssen in AEW einfach noch mehr aufgebaut werden. Viel zu wenig Star Power in der AEW Women's Division. Main Event ganz klar das Match of the Night dieser Dynamite Episode. Rey Fenix einfach einer der beste Wrestler auf diesem Planeten. Der junge Sellt einfach so unfassbar gut und hat einfach eine unfassbar gute Agilität im Ring. Das Lance Archer dann gewinnt, war zu erwarten, aber ich brauche einfach keinen Big Man in so einer Match Art bei Revolution. Ich glaube mit Fenix hätte man dort viel bessere Spots Kreieren können (****1/2). Insgesamt eine eher Solide Dynamite Episode. 3 Squash Matches, 1 Schlechtes Match und 2 Gute Matches. Und Sonst solide bis Gute Promos. |

Moxley zerstört Nemeth zu Beginn und hält danach eine gute Promo. Gewohnte Qualität von Mox. Omega kann kommen. Team Taz gegen die Blonds war in Ordnung. Solide Tag Team Action mit einem richtig guten Spot von Garrison. Die Blonds werden ihren Weg noch machen. Aber ich bin froh das die Fehde von Team Taz und Allin/Sting zu einem Ende kommt. Hager gegen Cutler war letzte Woche aufgebaut und so gabs das Match hier. Nichts besonderes. Die ganze Fehde um Page, die Dark Order und Matt Hardy + Anhang finde ich einfach großartig. Das macht alles so viel Spaß, auch Matt Hardy der sich hier nochmal neu erfunden und ein tolles neues Gimmick kreiert. Das Match war solide, hat Kassidy auf jeden Fall geholfen. Ich mag alles um diese Leute im Moment. Die Überraschung dann im Women's Turnier. Nyla wirft Baker raus. Das Match war dann eher Brawl und Kampf anstatt Match. Fand ich aber so ganz gut umgesetzt. Und mit dem Ergebnis hätte ich nicht gerechnet. Das MOTN ist dann nich schwer zu erraten. Archer und Fenix haben eine erstaunlich gute Chemie miteinander und zaubern hier ein echt gutes Match hin. Ergebnis geht auch klar, ist aber natürlich komisch ein Laddermatch ohne Fenix zu sehen. Kann ihm aber nur gut tun, wenn wir mal ehrlich sind. Das war sicherlich nicht die Beste Dynamite Show aber mir hats immer noch gefallen. |

Ganz guter Squash, den der Ex-Champ per se aber natürlich nicht nötig hat und von dem Nemeth dann auch nicht profitieren kann. Auf der Ebene eher entbehrlich. Die Promo im Anschluss bekommt dann einen längeren Timeslot als das Match und auch nur, weil man unbedingt immer mit Action beginnen muss. Sei sie noch so banal. Dieser nahezu zwanghafte Konter auf die Showformulare mit langer Sabbel-Eröffnung hat hier keinen Mehrwert und eine gute Promo sollte ebenso interessant wie ein knackiger Opener sein, zumal der Opener hier eben nicht so knackig ist, Moxley aber ein durchaus guter Talker ist. So auch hier. Der Brawl zwischen Fenix und Archer ist sehr obligatorisch. Varsity Blonds vs. Team Taz bietet dann wirklich solide TV-Action, die zwar etwas kompakter sein könnte, aber abliefert. Die Story mit Sting ist hingegen nicht mehr interessant. So verhält es sich auch für die Story um Miro & Co, wobei die noch eine Stufe egaler ist. Jake Hager und Brandon Cutler liefern das zweite unnötige Match des Tages und wieder ist es nur Aufbau für das Aftermath. Dad Buck ist halt auch kein Face Sympathieträger, sondern sieht aus wie ein christlicher Kultführer aus den Südstaaten. Da bin ich dann doch eher auf den Seiten der Heels. Der Hype für Jade & Shaq ist gering. Mich interessiert das wirklich überhaupt nicht. Page und Kassidy pendeln sich dann auch bei solider TV-Action ein. Overcoming the odds. Den Satz im Kontext mit dem Match und den Umständen verstehe ich bei Page nicht. War ja am Ende nicht alleine unterwegs. Natürlich geht es im Anschluss weiter. Passt schon. Kenny arbeitet an Inventar für sein Titelmatch. Ganz cooles Segment. Rose und Baker haben dann ein für mich eher unterdurchschnittliches Match. Das Promo-Video für FTR und JE ist solide. Im Main Event gibt es dann für mich überlange Spot-Action. Mit der Konstellation kannst doch eine ordentliche Match Story bringen, aber das bleibt in weiten Teilen einfach aus. Verstehe ich nicht. Als Show über dem Strich, aber ein paar ordentliche Hänger waren dabei. |

Der Opener war ein passabler Squash und die Anschlusspromo von Moxley gewohnt gut, auch wenn ich hier das Gefühl habe, dass sich das Ganze so langsam abnutzt bei mir. Team Taz vs. Varsity Blonds war ordentlich, gerade Pillman u. Garrison konnten hier zeigen, wie talentiert die beiden sind. Das Aftermath fand ich klasse. Ich verstehe schon, dass manche den "Einflug" Darby Allins mit der Zipline etwas viel fanden, mir hat das gefallen. Obwohl ich Sting eigentlich nicht mehr in einem Ring wrestlen sehen will, auf dieses Tag-Match bei Revolution bin ich absolut gehyped, das ist AEW sehr gut gelungen. Hager mit einem Squash Match... erfüllte seinen Zweck um im Aftermath die Young Bucks eingreifen zu lassen. MJF und Jericho machen den Vater der Bucks platt. Kann man machen, mich hat das gar nicht abgeholt, das ganze wirkte ziemlich komisch und hat der Fehde nicht geholfen. Hangman gegen Kassidy war ganz ordentlich und erfüllte auch hier seinen Zweck. Im Aftermath wurden die Dark Order in die Storyline mit reingezogen. Big Money Matt gefällt mir immer besser, außerdem ist das Ganze eine wirklich ordentliche Übergangsfehde für den Hangman. Baker vs. Rose war okay, mehr nicht. Ich gebe zu, dass ich mir sicher war, dass Britt Baker sich hier irgendwie durchmogelt. Das Match war nicht schlecht, aber von gut war das auch weiter entfernt. Nyla Rose war eine Zeit lang durchaus sehr interessant, aber mittlerweile gibt sie mir gar nichts mehr, schade. FTR konnten in ihrem kurzen Segment durchaus einigermaßen überzeugen und meine Freude auf das Match gegen den Jungle Express zumindest nicht schmälern. Der Main Event war richtig gut und klar mein MotN. Sowohl Archer als auch Fenix konnten hier glänzen. Das war ein sehr zufriedenstellendes Ende einer insgesamt recht guten Show mit mindestens soliden Matches, meist guten Story Fortführungen und einem sehr schönen Main Event. 7 Punkte von mir |

And now we get to the main event, the undoubtable match of the night. There was an insignificant botch with Fenix where he tripped up but it really wasn? t noticeable and didn? t affect the overall product (****1/2). I really liked Hangman vs. Kassidy and I am enjoying the Hangman/Hardy storyline actually quite a lot more than I anticipated, Big Money Matt so far has been my favourite version of Matt in AEW. Kassidy worked his ass off and Hangman looks ready to break out whenever full crowds are back in wrestling. The main event was another good match, although I would not call it a MOTYC as Tony hilariously exclaimed at one point. I also liked Jericho and MJF assaulting the Bucks' father, because the segment worked well and it gives some much needed edge to their match, which so far was more driven by the internal Inner Circle struggles. |

Team Taz gegen die Varsity Blondes war ein anständiges Match mit Team Taz als Favoriten und den Varsity Blondes als Underdogs die ein gutes Showing bekamen in der Niederlage. Apropos Team Taz: Darby Allin und Sting konnten sich an eben jenem rächen und ja ich verstehe warum Leute das Segment gut fanden mit Sting und das war auch für sich gelungen aber ich habe das Gefühl, dass man dadurch das man Woche für Woche mit Sting immer wieder das Gleiche gemacht hat, man den Appeal für mich so ein bisschen reduziert hat. Hager gegen Cutler danach war eher auch wieder eher ein Squash aber speaking of Hager und dem Inner Circle: Da gab es ja das Segment von MJF und Jericho mit dem Vater von den Bucks und das war schon ziemlich over the top fand ich. An sich finde ich es gut, die beiden auch mal wieder ernsthafter und härter darzustellen aber das war dann doch etwas viel Kunstblut. Page gegen Kassidy war ein mehr als anständiges Match mit durchgehender Action und ich finde auch durchaus interessant, was man da mit Big Money Matt macht. Das Halbfinal Match im Damenturnier war ein solider Styles Clash aber mehr nicht in meinen Augen. Richtig gut war dafür das ME. Lance Archer war in seiner Rolle als Monster ebenso gut wie Fenix als dynamischer Highflyer und so entstand ein richtig gutes Match. Insgesamt war es eine Show, die zwar auch Schwächen hatten aber dennoch unterhaltsam und mehr als anständig war, sodass ich 7 Punkte für angemessen halte. |

He's only been squashed on TV so far, but always to top tier opponents, and he even got a little promo in this time. He definitely got the talent, so I'm looking forward to what he might accomplish in the future. Mox's promo after the match was decent too, but a little bit too long. Team Taz vs The Varsity Blondes was a solid tag team match. Quite predictable, but we all knew this was a setup for the obligatory Sting appearance at the end, which was his most interesting appearance so far. At first I thought they were overusing him, but now I kinda like how the rivalry between them have been slowly escalating with each episode. Jake Hager vs Brandon Cutler was the low point of the night. I don't know who thought this matchup was a good idea, and its only purpose was to set up for a Young Bucks appearance. That MJF + Jericho segment following the match was a top notch heel moment, but man that fake blood looked bad lol. Adam Page vs Isaiah Kassidy was a surprisingly good match. I'm really enjoying Page's story arc, seeing him building up his strength and confidence back up, even though this particular storyline with Matt Hardy didn't start that well (but it has also improved significantly, especially in this episode). Nyla Rose vs Dr. Britt Baker was another excellent match. Probably Baker's best in-ring performance so far. And I was surprised with the finnish, which is always a plus. Only downside to this match was a scary almost botched superplex, but everything turned out ok. Main event at first felt like a last time idea, but man was it an amazing match. As one would expect from two top guys like Lance Archer and Rey Fenix. Extremely physical, hard hitting and intens bout, with plenty of "Holy Shit" moments. Awesome main event. Other segments include yet another needlessly long promo for tha Shaq match that no one cares about, a very weird promo by Kenny Omega and Don Callis, in which Kenny was banging a hammer on a metal sheath, pretending to build, and then we couldn't hear what he said because of the noise of the saw in the background, and also a pretty cool interview with Miro, Kip and Penelope, building up on their rivalry with Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor. In short, pretty solid show with no real duds as far as in-ring stuff goes, and cool developments for most storylines. |

I truly believe it's worse than ever right now, mostly because the booking has become extremely lazy and borderline incopetent. Matches happened with no storyline implications. When you have a show with 6 different matches booked, and not a single one of them has storyline implications, then the match is simply boring and unappealing to me. Why did Hager face Cutler? Why did Mox face Nemeth? Why did Team Taz face The Varsity Blondes? Dunno. But wait! Nyla vs Britt! I know why this happened! It was because of the tournament! Ok, but still a tournament is not a story. Nyla and Britt have no beef. They just happened to face each other and there would be nothing different if you substituted one or the other. Same thing for the main event (which was at least good enough). Dynamite is booked like a lazy TEW save. "Give momentum to everyone with pointless wins, don't let big names cross paths in order to protect their momentum, constantly book post match brawls because the crowd expects 30% angles, send Sting out there every week to do the same exact thing because he will go unhappy for not being used, book random tournaments because storylines are hard" etc. |

Fortunately Mox squashed him quickly and then cut another awesome promo to sell the Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match. Varsity Blondes vs. Cage and Starks was really good; Pillman and Garrison have turned into a strong unit and Cage and Starks are always quality. The post match angle with Sting and Darby descending from a zipline were outstanding; just the jolt the angle needed. Cutler-Hager was thankfully short and I'll give Cutler huge props for his work; he made the most of his time and actually made the normally bland Hager look solid. The post match after was once again strong, though I seem to be in the minority for thinking so. The Jade/Shaq vs. Cody/Velvet video was good, though I'm not sure they've done enough to really grab people. I was distracted during Hangman vs. Kassidy but it came off well, and featured another good post match angle. Britt vs. Nyla was TREMENDOUS; I'm aghast so many people are mixed on it. Nyla Rose is so underrated and Baker has improved tenfold since the injury. It would've been the best thing on the show for me if not for the main event, which featured another set of jaw dropping performances from Fenix and Archer. The only issue is that someone had to lose. Another exceptional show from AEW. |

The dual assault by Sting and Darby afterwards was wonderfully theatrical, in the best possible way. The attack on Papa Buck was a little less successful, especially because of the weird-looking fake blood they used, but it's a fun angle to add to the story, and MJF and Jericho were great in their mix of gloating and cowardice. A really enjoyable show from start to finish, although maybe a little bit of trimming on the longer matches wouldn't have gone amiss. AEW also seems to be massively stepping up the quality of their video packages too, which is nice. |

I'm going to sound very negative here but this is the kind of episode which makes you wonder if this stuff is worth following at all. I don't know what it is with AEW. Any time they go match-heavy, everything feels so long and boring. I can watch wrestlers in other companies go 30, 40, even 50 minutes, and yet these 10-20 minute matches drag almost unbearably. Maybe it's just me, but it feels like there's something off in the majority of AEW matches which get time. Other than a few rare hits, AEW is just not a good company for match quality, or even booking, really. It feels like Dynamite has settled into it's place as the new TNA. Does anyone actually want this Papa Buck stuff on TV? The Crossroads episode next week will be the 7th special episode of Dynamite since Winter is Coming in December. |

Hangman Page vs Isiah Kassidy was excellent, elevated Kassidy and helps set the stage for Page vs Hardy. Nyla Rose vs Britt was one of the best women's matches I've seen in AEW, however I can't believe Britt lost. Nyla had her chance as champ and did nothing to elevate the women's division, and nobody wants to see Nyla vs Shida again. A Riho vs Yuka finals to face Shida is great from a wrestling standpoint, but I'm shocked Britt isn't getting her opportunity to escalate the women's division now. Archer vs Fenix was an outstanding watch; both of them have been excellent over the past couple months. Fenix is losing too much though - since July on Dynamite he's 1-4 in singles and 2-6 for a record of 3-10. This is a guy who along with Penta seemingly never lost back in 2019 so I hope he can get a win streak going. Would love to see him feud with Darby. As for the rest of the show, there were three filler matches. There's 80+ people on AEW's roster, so there's no reason for squash matches on Dynamite. Keep that stuff on Dark. Sting looked good beating up Cage and it's certainly going to be interesting to see him fight at Revolution as we don't know if we'll see a cinematic match or in-ring. Paul Wight was announced as the latest AEW signing a few hours before Dynamite, which seemed like a wasted opportunity for a classic, unforgettable run-in, especially with Shaq around. Good show overall, but replacing the filler matches with better wrestling matches would go a long way. Also, Dynamite needs more Sammy Guevara. |

| 63 | 25.02.2021 | Nulltarif | 7.0 | Eine gute Dynamite Ausgabe, die trotz recht schwacher Card überzeugen konnte. Gerade der Main Event und Page gegen Kassidy konnten überzeugen. Nach den vielen guten Matches im Women's Turnier, war das Match der Frauen diese Woche echt schwach. Die Fehde zwischen dem Inner Circle und den Young Bucks hat endlich richtig fahrt aufgenommen und wurde durch ein eindrucksvolles Segment weitergeführt. Ähnliches gilt auch für Sting und Darby Allin. Hier hat man endlich etwas kreatives eingebracht, was dann sogleich gut gezündet hat und viel positives Feedback einbrachte. Dass man diese Woche nichts neues mit Shaquille O'Neal gebracht hat ist sehr enttäuschend. Der gute Herr will sich wohl nur ein einziges Mal bei Dynamite blicken lassen. Dementsprechend flach fällt mein Interesse für dieses Match aus. Wurde nicht eigentlich auch etwas zu Paul Wight angekündigt? Im Prinzip wurde man ja nur auf nächste Woche verwiesen. Dachte da wird auch schon heuer was bekannt gegeben. |

Served its purpose, with a great deal of time dedicated to Revolution and Crossroads hype packages and promos. First 30 minutes were good with Moxley, Team Taz and Sting and Darby all having good segments. Varsity Blondes impressed once again. Honestly could have stopped there, even the main event was a little disappointing given the stakes and caliber of talent involved. |

| 73 | 25.02.2021 | Grissom | 8.0 | Ich hab im Vorfeld nicht so viel erwartet von der Ausgabe bei den angekündigten Matches, aber man hat selbst Hager/Cutler interessant verpackt um die Fehde weiterzuführen. Oder auch bei Page vs. Kassidy. Mein Highlight war dann tatsächlich auch Sting und Darby Allin. Das kurze Video hatte was von älteren Road Movies aus der Grindhouse Zeit. Cool gemacht. Auch die Revanche an Brian Cage hat man gut verpackt mit dem Abseilen von Darby Allin in bester WCW Sting Manier, der erst Cage mit dem Skateboard umhaut und Sting dann seine Signatures an Cage zeigt. Sting macht einen guten und fitten Eindruck für sein Alter. Bei den Bucks und Jericho/MJF kommt durch die Einbindung und dem blutgen Beatdown an Papa Buck etwas schärfe rein. So haben die Bucks eine persönlichen Ebene für das Match, was es als ganzes gesehen interessanter macht. Hangman vs. Hardy Fehde macht unerwartet Spaß, vielleicht auch dank der Einbindung der Dark Order. Baker vs. Rose hat mir in der ersten Hälfte des Matches nicht gefallen. Zu viel Reba. Die letzten Minuten waren aber spannend und einwenig überraschend setzt sich Rose durch. MOTN war klar Archer vs. Fenix. Einer rmusste leider verlieren und nach der starken Darstellung von Archer in den letzten Wochen ergibt er mir als Sieger mehr Sinn als Rey Fenix. |

Baker has been built so much over the past months but AEW doesn't seem to want her as the face of the division despite building her as such. Archer and Fenix having a clean finish under 20 mins didn't feel right. A draw would have been better imo. Both men deserves to be in the ladder match. Fenix is absolutely amazing but keeps on loosing high profile matches. Also the match had a few too many mistimed spots. Moxley remains the badass he is, Varsity Blonds were very impressive, Team Taz were also equally impressive as The Blonds and Hager gets an important win on Dynamite in a long time. MOTN: Fenix Vs Archer ****. Also, Team Taz Vs Varsity Blonds(***1/2), Baker Vs Rose ( ***3/4). |

This was by far the best buildup for the Revolution PPV so far. The show started a bit weak opening with Moxley vs Nemeth and a somewhat uninspired promo from Mox but then gradually picked up steam from here on out. It all culminates in an excellent main event between Lance Archer and the ever incredible Rey Fenix. Easily Archers best match in AEW to date. |
