129.07.2022Reinhard Lohengramm7.0The last two matches were the best. The FoT is interesting in hindsight. The opening match is important for faction reasons.
226.02.2021boymeetsworld6.0These Korakuen Hall shows are interesting, but they are not those famous STARDOM Korakuen Hall shows of old. They feel less and less must-see, and they're only 100% must-see when Mayu Iwatani is in the Main Event. This show wasn't too long - only 2h10min. Last two matches were very good, Maika vs. Kamitani match was a good showing for maika. Rina joined Oedo Tai in the opener.
306.11.2020medouse8.0Very good show. Many interesting and important things happened. Rina joined Oedo Tai, Natsuko-Momo feud is heating up and Giulia picked up another opponent for her next title defense. The last two matches were my favourite.
501.11.2020ElPolloLoco I will add a rating when it becomes possible (all matches but one are already on Stardom World). The opening match was basically used to allow Ruaka to come back after a long hiatus and for Rina to join Oedo Tai to the delight of no one. The second match was far better than it had business being, chiefly because Tam Nakano did 90% of the work and Hanan pulled off some rather surprising offense. The third match is missing so far and, I'll be honest here, as much as I like Konami and Momo Watanabe it's a match involving the present incarnation of Oedo Tai so I have half an idea how it will play out. The Future of Stardom title match... I think Saya Kamitani hurt herself trying to do whatever she tried to do from the apron and that affected the rest of her match. Maika is the usual workhorse, nothing to complain about her performance. Saya Iida challenging for the belt makes sense but it's a challenge out of the blue. The tag match was really good. Yes, Mayu didn't do much but there was no need for it. Starlight Kid did what she excels at: getting beaten up without mercy and Syuri was only too happy to oblige. As an aside I cannot think of a better way for Syuri to start her fulltime Stardom career than wasting one evening against Bea Priestley: everybody has to carry this burden apparently, but at least there's a steady paycheck. The main event was pretty weird. I could not but think about how little experience these two have and especially how far they have come since joining Stardom. Yes, it was not an epic main event from the golden age of AJPW but for what it was, it was surprisingly good. I think not even Giulia imagined how the last year would change for the better and you could hear it in her closing promo. As an aside during the evening and on the next day press conference Stardom announced a new hire (named "ZZ" for now) and the mysterious Lady C, apparently a protégé of Mayu Iwatani's, has been cleared to make her taped match debut this month. It seems Stardom has finally decided to buff up their roster with domestic talent: yes, there's an epidemic making international travel very difficult, but at the same time we need to remember pretty much all the good quality foreign workers Stardom used to rely on (Toni Storm, Viper, Nixon Newell etc) have been scooped up by the WWE. A drastic change was needed even before the epidemic.
