"it can be very interesting going back and watching old random episodes of dark and seeing who on the show has progressed since then, especially seeing where Eddie Kingston or Ricky Starks is now, it's pretty cool. there are a lot of matches, but most of them are quite short so it's not too much of a slog to get through and its still enjoyable for what it is overall with some decent matches at the end."
[7.0] "AEW Dark #53 bekommt von mir 7 gute Punkte. Zu das Co Main Event welches auch mein Match of the Night wurde mehr im Guide. Das Main Event war auch gut (***). Ebenfalls was ich gut fand: Christopher vs Ricky (***) und Joey & Sonny vs The Buffalo Brothers (***1/4)."
[5.0] "Man muss bei Dark wieder einige Frösche küssen bis man am Ende mit zwei ordentlichen Matches belohnt wird. Für den Gunn Club habe ich bald gar kein Verständnis mehr und auch das Matchformular (naja, Anreihung von Moves) im Fall von Kiss und Janela brauche ich ohne krassen Spot einfahc nicht. Das Ding zwischen Daniels (was ist los mit dem) und Starks hätte deutlich besser sein können. Darüber hinaus plausible Aufbausqaushes für Deeb und Hobbs. Die Tag Team Matches waren mir zu showcase-lastig oder zu drucklos. Unter dem Strich aber okay, wenn auch mal wieder viel zu lang als Internet-Show."
[6.0] "Das war eine wirklich gelungene Ausgabe von Dark. Klar gab es auch wieder Matches die man nicht unbedingt gebraucht hätte wie z. B. den Opener. Das A-Team der Dark Order macht natürlich kurzen Prozess mit ihren Gegnern. Daniels wäre in Tag Team Matches mittlerweile besser aufgehoben. So wird er von Starks ganz schön abgefertig, was aber Starks Momentum für seine Fehde gegen Allin gibt. Butcher und Blade gegen ihre Gegner war unterhaltsam solange Puf im Ring war. Der hat sich gut verkauft während BB kurzen Prozeß mit Stewart machten. Hobbs gegen Serpentico war dann wieder eines der unnötigen Matches, aber Hobbs muss seinen Record aufbessern. Spannung war in den nächsten beiden Tag Team Matches natürlich auch nicht drin. Besser wurde es erst beim Kiss/Janela gegen Garcia/Blackwood Match. Das war wirklich ganz gut und so ein Match bei GCW oder Beyond wäre toll. Gunn Club überflüssig. Deeb gegen King war ein solides Match. Deeb hat es immer noch drauf und Frauen wie King und der Rest der jungen Garde können nur von ihr profitieren. MOTN war natürlich Carter gegen Johnson. Das war ein fantastisches Wrestlingmatch und zeigt was Carter und Johnson wirklich können. Tolles, schnelles Wrestling. Hat mich für beide sehr gefreut. War richtig gut. Kingston gegen Pillman als Main Event war ok. Solides Match der beiden und Kingston mit einem wichtigen Sieg."
[5.0] "Ricky Starks sieht hier wieder gut aus und holt hier einen guten Sieg gegen Veteran Daniels in einem guten solide Match. Ben Carter zeigt hier sein nächstes starkes Match und auch sein Gegner Lee Johnson macht einen guten Eindruck. Die beiden zeigen ein technisch gutes 10 Minuten Match. Der Main Event ist solide. Der Rest ist ok."
[5.0] "This was my first time watching a Dark episode. The wrestling itself was actually good, nothing spectacular but very sound and a bit old-fashioned in a good way with a lot of classic squashes. My bone is with the length of the show: eleven matches in a weekly show are simply too much. I understand AEW has already signed far more people than the company needs and keeps on bringing freelancers in so they need to do something with them but this is ridiculous: in a couple of days I won't even remember who was on this show apart from the AEW regulars like the Lucha Brothers. Not bad as a show but questionable format."
[6.0] "This was a solid episode of Dark. Starks vs. Daniels was a decent match although Daniels nearly botched the rope moonsault press again. Lucha Bros match exceeded expectations and was a well worked sorta-squash. Same with Janela & Kiss vs. Garcia & Blackwood. Carter vs. Johnson was a really great match and really showed what they could both do outside the confines of a squash match. Kingston vs. Pillman was well worked but the ending seemed anticlimactic because Kingston's finisher is so weak and Pillman dominated much of the match. Still more good matches than bad and Carter vs. Johnson was a legit ***1/2."
[6.0] "For quality of wrestling, this was one of the better weeks of AEW Dark in quite some time. Had some of the fat been cut, and some kind of follow-up to the Cutler/Avalon angle been given, this might have been a contender for one of the better Dark shows to date."
[7.0] "The show was good, or maybe I found it good after the great performance from Ben Carter and Lee Johnson, what a match they had, the other match looks like fries we watch for fun compared to these two guys"
[7.0] "I still can't get behind the 11 matches card, but this had some decent matches. Starks/Daniels, Lucha Bros, debut of Serena Deeb, Good main event with Kingston and Pillman. I was going to give a 6 but then Ben Carter happened. Match of the night. Two times on Dark, Two of the best matches in Dark history. This guy is a star."
