| 1 | 25.10.2020 | Sfelpo | 6.0 | Night 2 out of 6 of this Champion Carnival and things haven't picked up yet. This is an ok show, nothing really memorable or even really great. Ishikawa got the win due to Yoshitatsu being injured, which is a shame, this match could've been a good one. Non-tournament matches were all okay, nothing that really stuck on my mind except for them having to take a break to fix the ring, which was interesting to watch. Zeus vs Kuma Arashi was good, true power contest, more than anything else. Shotaro Ashino vs Yuma AoYagi was the MOTN for me. It was pretty good, mostly due to Aoyagi's amazing commitment to selling his leg. This gave some drama to the match, along with the Enfants Terribles interference throughtout the bout, which made the ending so much better. Suwama vs Jiro was good, in it's own way. Jiro is a hell of a character that really can go in the ring, but his lack of "seriousness" kind of hurts a main event caliber match. The opposite happens in the finish, where it really upped it all. I don't want to compare, but this felt a bit like a better Toru Yano match, which is good but not enough for a main event. |
