| 9 | 22.12.2021 | Telecine | 7.0 | Am meisten wird für mich bei dieser Ausgabe von Dynamite die Promo von Chris Jericho in Erinnerung bleiben, bei dem er nach langer Zeit mal wieder beweist, was für ein Genie er am Mikro sein kann. Der komplette Rundown von MJF und Pinnacle ist so unterhaltsam, das man in dieser Zeit gar nicht anders kann, als ihm hundertprozentig aufmerksam zuzuhören. Zudem hat es gut funktioniert, ihn und Inner Circle als Babyfaces zu präsentieren, ohne dass sie ihre Charaktereigenschaften, die sie als Heels hatten, verlieren. Im Ring hat mir der Opener zwischen Adam Page und Max Caster gut gefallen und mit Abstrichen auch das Six Man Tag Match im Main Event zwischen Omega, den Good Brothers, Moxley und den Young Bucks. Dieses Match ist mehr als Weiterentwicklung der Storyline der ehemaligen Bullet Club Mitglieder konzipiert, als als Zurschaustellen von schicken Wrestling-Moves, aber als genau das funktioniert es auch. Drumherum ist viel Ordentliches zu sehen, aber wenig wird davon in Erinnerung bleiben. |

Bis auf Vielleicht den Main Event der die Story des Main Event Pictures bei AEW weiter schreibt. Opener war Okey. Max Caster ist aber definitiv nur da um Leute den Sieg zu geben. Page wird weiterhin aufgebaut. Das "Godzilla vs. Kong" Promote Match war dann auch einfach nur okey. Brauchte Ich persönlich nicht. AEW TNT Championship Match war Gut. Darby Allin gewinnt natürlich und geht Over. Bunny vs. Tay Conti schlecht. Das Segment mit dem Inner Circle und dem Pinnacle Gut und wird auch weiterhin für das "Blood & Guts" Match weiterhin gut aufgebaut. Main Event war gut und der Turn der Young Bucks sehr gut umgesetzt. Insgesamt eine eher Solide Dynamite Ausgabe. |

Even the segments and extras were above average at best too. Using Mike Tyson for attracting ratings and marketing purposes only for a 2 minute appearance had me feeling betrayed but at least we got a unexpected Jericho/Tyson settling of differences and show of respect for each other . Tyson beating up Spears was pretty cool too. Sting/Archer segment was decent but did not hold much meaning . I liked the Best Friends and Death Triangle segment and totally loved the Jericho promo and their altercation with the pinnacle later into the show . Only thing I did not like in that promo was Jericho comparing MJF to Nakazawa and Avalon . That is shambolic and atrocious . The Hardy Family office is turning stale with too predictable post match and pre match attacks that do not even seem necessary 90 percent of the times . I do like the formation of the nightmare factory . Red Velvet/Jade Cargill announced for next week and I feel no build or hype at all. Tay getting the win was good. The Bucks/Omega moment was supposed to be special but due to a lack luster main event the objective could not be fulfilled . The Young Bucks heel turn was surprising and a great culmination to the story arc and a great development but how it came about in a match with something as illogical like Bucks refusing to super kick Omega but hitting a pile driver on him . The best match on the card was Allin/Drake . The main event was average , Page/Caster was solid , Jurassic Express vs Bear County was under average and Tay/Bunny was not good . Page/Caster did not accomplish much . I would like to see Page getting a win over or getting into a feud with a top star as that would elevate him into the main event scene as most likely he will be the challenger for Omega? s world title . Caster is a mid card guy and is not the best of in ring performers. I thought this rap was funny though even though a bit insensitive with the Biden reference . Going to hell for laughing at that lol. Taz approaching Cage was also a nice touch . Good to see that . Overall, I would give the show a 6 due to more of the bad as compared to the good. |

Gerade wrestlerisch gab es wirklich nicht viel, das Damenmatch war überraschend solide und das TNT-Title Match das einzige Highlight. Der Main Event mit einem coolen Angle am Ende, aber viel zu lange dafür und daher auch wirklich nicht gut. Abseits der Matches war das ganze schon besser. Die Jericho Promo hat abgeliefert und auch allgemein wurde die Fehde zwischen dem Inner Circle und The "Pineapple" gut weitergeführt. Auch Hardy/Darby Allin und Shida/Conti wurden solide weiter aufgebaut. Das Sting/Lance Archer Segment ging in eine andere Richtung als erwartet, hat aber gepasst. Dank der Geschehnisse abseits des Ring noch ganz ganz knappe 6 Punkte von mir. |

Sicher eine der schwächeren Dynamite Ausgaben, jedoch konnte man sich auf diese Show gut anschauen. Was etwas fehlt sind die guten Matches aber das, was es gab, war in der Form immer noch solide und für eine Weekly auch mal okay. Die Promo von Jericho war noch ganz gut und der endgültige Turn der Young Bucks bringt immerhin Material für die nächsten Wochen. Ob man das mag oder nicht, ich bin mir sicher, dass es unabhängig davon gut wird. Etwas merkwürdig fand ich das Segment mit den Lucha Bros und den Best Friends, hier hätte eine Konfrontation mit den Bucks besser gepasst, um das Match für die kommende Woche aufzubauen. |

| 26 | 16.04.2021 | Sandmann | 6.0 | Eine der schlechteren Ausgaben von Dynamite. Das lag für mich vor allem am Wrestling in dieser Woche. Für eine AEW Show war das wirklich relativ mau. Das fing bei Page gegen Caster schon an. Die Aufgabe schien für Caster eine Nummer zu groß zu sein. Er hatte auf jeden Fall einige Upfucks und Unsauberkeiten darin die man sonst eher weniger sieht. Da konnte Page leider auch nicht mehr viel retten. Schade. Das ging dann leider bei Bear Country gegen den Express so weiter. Hier hatte Luchasaurus einen schlechten Tag und steckte damit die Bear Country Jungs etwas an. Das können beide Teams wesentlich besser als hier. Allin gegen Drake war dann in Ordnung. Die Paarung passt aber einfach auch gut. Drake vermöbelt Allin ganz gut und dieser kämpft sich immer wieder zurück. Mein MOTN ist dann das Match der Frauen. Das hat mir ungewöhnlich gut gefallen. Conit und Bunny liefern sich einen offenen Schlagabtausch in den natürlich auch munter die jeweiligen Gangs eingreifen. Für Conti ein wichtiger Sieg auf dem Weg zum Titelmatch. Der Main Event war bis zum Schluß natürlich wrestlerisch das beste Match. Durch den Angle zum Schluß kann man das aber schwer bewerten. Der Turn der Bucks war auf jeden Fall ganz gut gemacht und Mox hat man so vielleicht erstmal rausgeschrieben. Insgesamt also eine durchschnittliche Ausgabe aber für Dynamite Verhältnisse ein wenig schwach. |

One was the lack of big matches on the card. None of the matches were worthy of anything over 3 stars, and only the last 3 were even worth watching. The second issue was ending the show with a main event that introduces the same wishy-washy back and forth with the Bucks and Omega. As a fan of everyone in the main event, watching this story still playing out is getting really tiring, and it's interfering with some great potential matches. My two ideal outcomes are the Bucks turning face, losing the titles to Death Triangle, and then feuding with Omega. Or the Bucks turn heel, lose/keep the titles, and feud with Moxley, Kingston and another tag team that would add some variety to these matches. That could be any combination of Death Triangle, the Sydals, I'd even take a wildcard pick like the Dark Order at this point. |

The opener was a little bit of an exception, and also not a very good match. Hangman and what's-his-face from acclaimed did not seem to click very well in the ring, and the match had lots of awkward moments and weak-looking offence. Jurassic Express vs Bear Country was also not very exciting, and there was this one pretty terrible botched moment. Nobody got hurt, but it looked sloppy as fuck. TNT title match was surprisingly cool, but very predictable. The women's match was one of the highlights of the night, with one of the best performances in both wrestler's AEW career. The main event was great. I don't see why people are complaining about the "drama" in the match. To me this is exactly what elevated it. The other highlight, was everything with the Inner Circle, even though I think Tyson's involvement was unnecessary. Good episode, they've been very consistent lately. |

Page und Caster liefern im Opener eine recht müde Vorstellung, die zu keinem Zeitpunkt einen passenden Druck hat. Dann leiht sich das Todesdreieck Interview-Segment #3 von Sting aus. Kennzeichen hier: der Interviewte wird vor dem ersten Satz unterbrochen. Hier haben dann Trent & Co ihren Part und erzählen Geschichten von damals. Das World Tag Team Title Match wurde da offiziell beerdigt. Keine Wortmeldung der Herausforderer, dafür die nächste Story am Horizont, dann aber in Trios-Action. Nicht, dass da viel Spannung wäre beim Titelmatch, aber der letzte Rest ist nun endgültig raus. Bis auf ein, zwei Wackler liefert Jericho eine wirklich unterhaltsame Promo. Dass The Pinnacle erst bei einem nicht ganz berechenbaren Backstage-Interview zuschlägt, ist nicht ganz mein Fall. Jedoch absolut positiv ist, dass man darstellt, dass der restliche Inner Circle eingesperrt wurde, um dieses Logikloch zu stopfen. Hätte man noch dargestellt, was Tyson eigentlich bei Dynamite gesucht hätte, wäre das sehr rund geworden, aber auch so liefert man in Summe spielerisch den besten Part der Show. Christian Cage hat das gleiche Interview-Abo wie Sting. Team Taz hat derzeit so seine Darstellungsprobleme und das geht hier auch weiter. Der Heckmeck um Starks und Cage ist einer angeblichen Bad Ass-Gruppierung in diesem Ausmaß nicht würdig. Lässige Heel-Gruppierungen erleben keinen guten März/April 2021. #HurtBusiness. Die Herleitung für Jurassic Express vs. Bear Country war irre künstlich und nun habe ich auch begriffen warum. WarnerMedia hatte Bock auf Promo. Im Match ging dann Einiges in die Hose. Passt ins Bild. QT stellt sehr hölzern die Nightmare Factory vor. Hoffe auf eine gute Rolle für Comoroto und wenig Sprechzeit für QT. Der Running Gag heißt weiterhin Sting-Interview. Hier gibt es immerhin etwas Entwicklung, aber kann nicht behaupten, dass mich das interessiert. Darby Allin und Drake zeigen das Match des Tages mit ihrer doch arg willkürlichen Ansetzung. Das Aftermath ist okay und verquickt nun die Hardy-Storys. Passt schon. Britt wird weiter als Fehden-Siegerin dargestellt und so langsam frage ich mich, wie Rosas Status ist. Tay Conti und The Bunny liefern ein passables TV-Match ab. Cargill vs. Velvet geht als Singles Match dann auch deutlich an mir vorbei. Das Main Event bekommt viel Zeit, bietet typische Spotaction mit passender Actiondichte und dann Drama, welches leider einfach nur unangenehm war. Die Bucks stehen fast zwei Minuten gemeinsam im Ring herum und beweisen erneut, dass sie keine Schauspielfähigkeiten haben. So scheitert die Story dann für mich im großen Stile, wenngleich die Bucks hoffentlich nun endlich nachhaltig als Heels auftreten dürfen. Mox sieht dabei aus wie ein Depp, das erinnerte böse an Gasmasken-Zeiten. Schwache Show, die bis auf Blood & Guts nichts aufbaut, was mich interessiert und dazu inhaltlich einfach schwach war. |

Page-Caster was fairly disappointing considering how great a year both men have had so far, although the final stretch was at least somewhat compelling. Jericho's promo was a mixed bag - the adoption of babyface mannerisms feels a little abrupt and the intensity was lacking until the end, but Jericho's nevertheless an all-time great at character work and crowd control, and it showed here. The 'Godzilla vs Kong' tag match was fun; sloppy in places and Bear Country don't have much going for them beyond sheer size, but it was still fun. Allin-Drake was nicely physical, but the match was deeply harmed by the obviousness of the outcome and the chasm between their levels of star power. Sting chasing out Ryan Nemeth was pretty funny, though. Conti-Bunny was the closest thing the show had to an unambiguously good match, which makes it all the more unfortunate that it was the shortest match of the night. Nothing spectacular, but entertaining throughout, and Conti might have to be considered one of the division's MVPs at this juncture. The main event was mostly decent, but we've seen so many Omega-centric six-man tags recently that it's hard to work up any enthusiasm for them. The storytelling (both during the match and afterwards) was well-played but similarly a bit repetitive in context - it's wrestling's soap opera nature at both its best and its worst. Nothing terrible on the show, but this episode does feel emblematic of the malaise Dynamite has been in for the past few months when compared to its earlier stuff. |

The entire undercard was a series of inconsequential matches where there was absolutely no doubt who was going to win and didn't really do much to move storylines forward. I will say though that JD Drake is a real diamond in the rough and I hope that he somehow manages to break the surface of the 40-man-deep ocean that is AEW's midcard scene. Aside from that you've got AEW's standard trope of "guy has interview, gets interrupted after saying three words" ad nauseum, ad infinitium, and it makes me wonder if AEW is just trolling us at this point. Jake even lampshades it during one of these promos. More lampshading with Britt Baker shitting all over the ranking system, and of course she's completely correct because being ranked #2-5 has never stopped someone from getting a title match before. QT Mar-Shall had a nice little promo though, even if once again AEW just has to reference The Fed on an episode of Dynamite to make a point (this was the second time tonight, BTW). And then of course you have the main event. Holy fuck, what a trainwreck. That finish makes the Exploding Barbed Wire Sparklers debacle look like the Miracle on Bourbon Street. It makes the debut of the Nightmare Collective look like Hard Times. Just embarrassing. It's like they knew Stand and Deliver was going to blow them out of the water no matter what so they brought in Mike Tyson for a couple extra eyeballs on the episode and just phoned everything else in. AEW really needs to get out of this "three steps forward and two steps back" rut they've gotten themselves into over the last few months. |

I really don't need the descent into melodrama, dramatically looking at your own hands (or feet) and folks being unwilling to wrestle other wrestlers because of their "emotions", especially when they are not very good at showing complex emotions (and let's be honest, most wrestlers are not). Please keep that kind of booking far away from me, that's something I came to AEW to avoid. |

Seeing some people forget that Blood and Guts was originally announced for last year but was postponed, so it's not a new idea, it's the companies version of WarGames. These long term threads are easy to catch if you pay attention to the product. Also confused by the reaction to main event, the Young Bucks have been conflicted for months over their relationship with Omega, it makes perfect sense. It wasn't a blow away show by any means but a lot of criticisms don't seem to be coming from people who have actually followed the stories going on, and a lot of people seem to enjoy deliberately rating AEW very low as some kind of weird status symbol. |

Ähnliches gilt für das Tag Team Match danach, welches nicht immer ganz sauber ist aber durchaus intensiv. Das TNT Title Match ist dann mein MOTN. Das war ein mehr als anständiges, unterhaltsames David vs Goliath Match mit einer eher ungewöhnlichen Favoritenrollenverteilung wenn man auf die bloße Statur guckt. Im Co ME setzt Tay Conti ihre Reihe von ansehnlichen Performances fort mir einem anständigen Match. Zudem finde ich es gut, wie hier auch mal eine Story um zwei Stables um Damen herumerzählt wird und das Allie aka Bunny mal wrestlen darf. Beim ME gibt es in meinen Augen vor Allem einen Kritikpunkt: Es ist zu lang. Längere Zeit passiert halt nicht viel aber schließlich kommt dann vor Allem aus Storygründen eine interessante Schlussphase. Apropos Stories: Neben dem Turn der Young Bucks gegen Moxley und zu Kenny gibt es vor Allem noch den endgültigen Faceturn des Inner Circles. Zunächst hält Jericho eine unterhaltsame Promo gegen the Pinnacle und danach greifen diese ihn an. Der Inner Circle ist eingeschlossen aber kann sich schließlich befreien und in der Zwischenzeit hält Tyson, der einstige Feind von Jericho, die Angreifer in Schach. Für die beiden großen Stories dieser Show gilt: In der Umsetzung war da vielleicht nicht alles zu 100 Prozent super aber insgesamt wurden die Emotionen bei mir ausgelöst, die ausgelöst werden sollten. Alles in Allem war das in meinen Augen eine mehr als anständige Episode, welche 7 Punkte verdient. |

If this is all an attempt to sabotage Young Bucks career and popularity, i'd actually say it's impressive the great job they're doing of it. Darby/JD Drake (***) the highlight. Darby vs. JD Drake sowie Hangman vs. Caster waren die besten Matches der Show. Beide etwa bei ***1/2. |

OK, time for the bad: the opening match; the Triangle/Best Friends segment didn't hit; Jericho asking the crowd to start an Inner Circle chant, why did we have to see this? Hated his pandering promo; one of Bear Country looked to have torn his bicep catching Luchasaurus early on; Nick C and his blue paint; Sting and Archer confusion; a thirty second shot of Sting following Nemeth (wtf AEW); botches and sloppiness; don't care about Tyson in AEW; skipped through the last match which looks to have been a good shout. Next week looks stacked, this week was a mess. |

Vielleicht lag es an der Reihenfolge (erst Takeover, dann Dynamite), vielleicht lag es daran, dass AEW nicht mal probiert hat, gegen die Brillanz eines Takeovers anzukämpfen - aber das hier ist keine Wrestlingshow für mich. Kein einziges Match war auch nur annähernd sehenswert. Die Stories scheinen immerhin ein wenig brauchbarer zu sein, Jericho war immerhin solide. Dynamite fühlt sich gerade wie Nitro 2000 oder eine schlechte Raw-Ausgabe kurz vor dem Wechsel zu drei Stunden an. Bitter, wie man ein so vielversprechendes Produkt so in den Sand setzen kann. Vom furchtbaren Commentary will ich gar nicht erst anfangen - z. B. ein Barrett steckt aktuell jeden am AEW-Pult locker in die Tasche. |

Several of the matches were quite botchy and amateurish. Jake Roberts is still riding on that debut promo and has done nothing but embarrass himself ever since. The main event actually had me thinking "Fuck this shit" and nearly turning off. Not the kind of reaction you want during a ratings decline. |

| 89 | 08.04.2021 | Swendive | 4.0 | I really can't believe this is the card they chose to put up against a Takeover, and on the last night of the Wednesday Night War and with a couple of weeks of bad ratings trailing them too. Aside from the main event, each match had competitors that are effectively DARK jobbers. That's just looking at the card. The show itself? Fine. Nothing offensively bad, maybe some questionable stuff at worst. Had higher expectations for the main event, and the Tyson stuff is what it is. But Dynamite has been lacking focus. On a good note though: Allie and Tay Conti had a surprisingly solid match. It was of course slotted right before the main event where it got eaten up by commercials, but it was good. Allie really stepped up for this. |

The opener, while not the smoothest, was a pretty good start with Hangman having another strong performance and Max Caster doing his best to keep up. The Best Friends/Death Triangle segment jump started that issue nicely after it was put off for a year. The Inner Circle promo was SENSATIONAL from Chris Jericho; easily his best mic work since the early days of AEW and his energy levels were through the roof. Jurassic Express vs. Bear Country had one iffy move and otherwise was a good time. The Sting segment actually worked for once thanks to some high energy from Sting and Lance Archer. The show then found another gear with JD Drake vs. Darby Allin. Awesome match; Drake, as expected by anyone who's seen him, was a tour de force and Darby continued his streak of being one of AEW's MVP's of this year (right next to Rey Fenix). The angle with The Inner Circle, Pinnacle and Mike Tyson was really well done, followed by another awesome Britt Baker promo and a surprisingly strong Tay Conti-Bunny match. Definitely Bunny's best match in AEW and another standout performance from Conti. And then came the main event. I wasn't bothered by it like most people and in terms of storyline I thought it made sense. But the match itself was more good than great, the Bucks have been wishy washy for months now and it's easy to see why it turned people off. Still a strong Dynamite, but even taking away the ending it was not on the level of the last few shows. |

Darby vs JD Drake ended up being really good too. Main event was solid and I liked the post-match stuff, but I hope the Bucks stay heel this time. Bunny vs Conti actually ended up being pretty good too, considering I don't think they've ever wrestled each other. It's one of those shows where most of it wasn't five star quality but also wasn't boring me either. It seems to be one of those episodes that is building toward the future storylines. |

Main event was a catastrophe, the Young Bucks can't act at all and we all knew where this story is going (predictability) but they take soooo long to do anything and they do it so unconvincingly... Didn't like this one at all. Best match was Darby vs. JD. |
