[8.0] "Habe den Tag live geschaut, hatte allerdings keine Zeit eine Bewertung zu schreiben. Insgesamt eine sehr hohe Matchqualität, Sanada vs. Archer war ganz nett, Fale vs. Tanahashi auch, da Fale zum ersten Mal in diesem Turnier seine Rolle spielt, wie man sie von ihm kennt. Ospreay vs. Kenta war gut, leider mit 1-2 Unsauberkeiten, Isbushi vs. Zack war ebenfalls stark. Im Main Event fand ich es etwas schade, dass man Evil hier nicht den Spot gegeben hat, am letzten Tag noch am Leben zu sein. So geht man voll auf Okada vs. Ibushi und hat einen klaren Fokus, was auch nett ist. Das Match Okada vs. Evil war natürlich stark."

I was hoping more of this two, they had put great matches in another dates, not today [**3/4]; Tanahashi Vs Fale: They always have a good chemistry, despite the fact that Fale is not a great wrestler. A bit better than the previous match of the night, but also nothing spectacular to watch [***1/4]; Ospreay Vs Kenta: Great match. I think it was the most agressive match of Kenta since he signed with New Japan (ignoring that botch with the high rope) [****1/4]; Ibushi Vs ZSJ: Also good match. Since their first fight in the G1 some years ago, they have had a lot of good matches. [****] Okada Vs Evil: Not the best from Okada and Evil. But still good match [***3/4] Again the expectations were higher than the reality. Some good matches, but nothing special in this date of the A block"
[9.0] "Archer/SANADA: ***1/2. Very good match. SANADA was good, Archer was very good. Tana/Fale: ***. Tana usually has good matches with Fale, and this was no exception, though usually they are better than this, I do hope this is Fale's last G1. KENTA/Ospreay: ****. Great match, KENTA is alot better now than he was a month ago. I wish, and i hope they do end up doing the Ibushi match again. Ospreay was great. Ibushi/ZSJ: ****. Great match. There was alot of emotion and fire at the end, it was really fun. EVIL/Okada: ****2/3. This was so incredible. One of my favorite matches of the tournament. The last 5 or so minutes were fantastic. This is easily EVIL's best G1 tournament to date, he's been incredible. These 2 have such great chemistry, especially in the G1. I loved this with all of my heart. Great show!"
[7.0] "SANADA vs Lance Archer - Average match, nothing else. [***] Bad Luck Fale vs Hiroshi Tanahashi - Another whatever match, meh. [*] Will Ospreay vs KENTA - Awesome match with some botches. [****1/2] Kota Ibushi vs Zack Sabre Jr - Very good match with Zack Sabre Jr focusing on Kota Ibushi's leg. [****1/4] Kazuchika Okada vs EVIL - EVIL can be a very good wrestler sometimes, and that match proves it. [****1/2] Solid show with three good matches."
[8.0] "It's the last A block show before the Budokan and we already knew that Okada vs. Ibushi would be the only match that matters at the end so I didn't really wait for this show but the card is good and they delivered as usual. The undercard did its work to hype the B block matches and the A block matches were interesting. Tanahashi did his best against Fale, it wasn't a great match at all but I thought it was fine for a Fale match. The main event was amazing."
[6.0] "Undercard ist bis auf den doppelten Tease in Match #4 doch wieder zu vernachlässigen. Die typische G1-Dynamik entfaltet auch ihren teils halt auch nervigen Charme. Nach dem offensichtlichen Upset an Tag 13, nun die passenden Ergebnisse für das Finale an Tag 17. Und egal, wie der Weg dahin war, das bei Bekanntgabe der Cards auch mal wieder viel zu offensichtlich. SANADA und Archer pendeln auch schon aus (**¾) während es bei Tanahashi bald mal in eine ganz andere Richtung gehen könnte. Interessanter Aspekt, aber ein schwaches Match. KENTA lässt es durchaus klatschen und Ospreay kann das auch gut vertragen. Gute Dynamik, ein paar Unsauberkeiten. Unterhaltsames Match, dem es nur etwas an Tiefe fehlt. Der Umgang mit KENTA ist insgesamt interessant. Das Publikum scheint irre desinteressiert. (***½)Keine tiefere Match Story bei Ibushi und ZSJ und auch keine Spannung. ZSJ pöbelt sich gut durch den Ring und mit Ibushi klickt das dann eigentlich fast immer. So auch hier. Gutes Ding, aber bei den Umständen ein feines Showcase-Match - nicht unbedingt mehr. (***½) Der Champ zieht natürlich auch in sein Block-Finale und zeigt bis er da ankommt mit EVIL ein schönen Austausch von Moves und erzeugt dabei eine Handvoll guter Sequenzen. MOTN. (***¾) Block-Action mal wieder ein gutes Stück besser als der Event im Schnitt, aber in Summe (auch dank der fehlenden Spannung) ist das eine solide Show."
[7.0] "Der Opener hat mir tatsächlich von der Undercard am besten gefallen. Suzuki-Gun herrlich rücksichtslos, was sie besonders gegen die Young Lions und Yano entfalten kann. Chaos gegen Mox und Shota ist okay aber etwas kurz im Anschluss, dennoch mag ich letztere beide als Team. Das Six Man danach ist in Ordnung aber sicher nichts besonderes. Das Six Man danach ist auf ähnlichem Niveau wie der Opener halt ein gewohntes LIJ Tag Team Match. Danach kommt das erste Turniermatch mit Sanada gegen Archer und ich muss ehrlich zugeben, dass mich das nicht wirklich überzeugt. Es ist durchschnittlich aber es ist halt jetzt auch die 08/15 Archer Story und mehr nicht. Allerdings finde ich das Match danach noch etwas schwächer. Fale macht hier wirklich nicht viel. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt dachte ich schon, dass es keine gute Show wird aber die letzten drei Matches werden dann wirklich gut beginnend mit meinem MOTN. Ospreay zeigt die nächste tolle Leistung, in dem er durch sein Selling Kenta besonders bedrohlich wirken lässt und auch das Neckwork klasse umsetzt. Ein schöner Styles Clash mit guter Schlussphase und alles in allem einfach ein sehr gutes Match. Ibushi gegen ZSJ ist für mich nicht ganz auf dem Niveau weil mir da ein bisschen Story fehlt aber das technische Work von Sabre sowie die Dynamik von Ibushi lassen das ganze zu einem wirklich guten Match werden und somit auf ähnlichem Niveau stattfinden wie auch das ME. Auch hier fehlt mir etwas die Storytiefe um es sehr gut nennen zu können aber die Konzeption des Matches mit der Steigerung hin zur starken Finishphase überzeugen durchaus. Dennoch muss ich insgesamt sagen, das alles bis zu den letzten drei Matches nicht gut genug war, um den Tag insgesamt gut nennen zu können - zumindest für mich. Ich fand es war eine sehr anständige Show, die aber durchaus auch Schwächen hatte in Form von zwei schwächeren Matches, wovon das Fale Tana Match für mich sogar eines der schwächsten des Turniers war."

Honestly can't decide if this show or the previous A block show was the better night. Ospreay vs. KENTA takes MOTN but just barely. With Okada's win EVIL is eliminated and the A block will come down to Okada vs. Ibushi with Okada having the draw advantage."
[8.0] "This was a very solid show, no MOTY candidates but except Fale's stuff every single match delivered, especially the main event. 4 matches out of 5 definitely rocked and the crappy one had a result I didn't see coming, was a very good night that built the huge final day with the attention on Okada and Ibushi."

[8.0] "Die Show wusste zu unterhalten. Sanada vs Archer macht ansich Spaß, ist mir nur an einigen Stellen zu langsam geworkt. Langsam müsste Archer auch mal lernen, sich aus nem Roll-Up zu befreien ;) (6, 5/10). Tana sorgt dafür, dass Fale sein bestes Turniermatch hat. Natürlich ist das nicht großartig, aber wenigstens solide (6/10). Kenta vs Ospreay ist ein echt gutes Match, nur leider nimmt mich der Botch zwischenzeitlich ein wenig aus dem Match. (8/10). Ibushi vs Sabre reiht sich in ihrem Matchreihe ein. Einfach Klasse (9/10). Okada vs Evil ist ebenfalls super, vorallem die letzten 5 Minuten (9/10). Insgesamt 7, 7/10 ? 8 Punkte."
