[7.0] "The invasion angle kicks off with a solid start here. DDP got a good attack on Undertaker, Mike Awesome winning the hardcore title felt like it mattered, and Booker T attacking Vince McMahon in MSG to close the show was great. The rest of the show was also pretty good with the Austin and Angle stuff, Edge and Christian slowly building towards a breakup, and that Edge and Billy Gunn match was really bad, might be the worst WWF match in 01."
[7.0] "As bad as the Invasion angle turned out, this was a fun show on what looked like a promising start. The fact they made a huge deal with MSG being seen as one of the top WWE arenas that WCW has never been a part of mad the run-ins feel more meaningful. We never thought we'd see DDP attacking the Undertaker or Booker T attacking Vince McMahon in that arena so in that sense it's a historic event. Also seeing Mike Awesome run in and win the Hardcore Title, even that felt like a big deal at the time. The matches are short and nothing special, there is no real main event here and the match between Billy Gunn and Edge was garbage and a terrible way to start Edge's new babyface run, but it felt like everything was changing and it was so exciting as a fan at the time, even if it didn't pan out as everyone hoped."
[7.0] "The Invasion angle is looking good here, until it is absolutely buried into the ground starting next week. Booker T looks like a million dollars during the run-in. Highlight of the show is the Vince McMahon/Stone Cold/Kurt Angle skits. I'd happily live in a world in which they never ended. Comedy gold. Nothing worth watching in-ring wise here. The Edge/Billy Gunn match was pretty damn bad, with the MSG crowd chanting "Hogan", "Boring", and "Goldberg" during. Not great for Edge coming one night off his big King of the Ring win."
[5.0] "Invasion Woche #4: Diesesmal mit einer langen Geschichtsstunde warum der Madison Square Garden so wichtig für die WWF/E ist. Mike Awesome holt sich dank 24/7 regel den Hardcore Title. Stalker DDP darf gegen den Untertaker plus Frau austeilen und Booker T darf seinen Finisher (mehr schlecht als recht) an McMahon anbringen. Austin und Angle benehmen sich wie Vollidioten und lassen sich komplett verladen. Von den Matches fand ich nur Jericho/Tajiri ansprechend."
[7.0] "Zu Beginn der Show erinnert Vince an die MSG-Historie seines Vaters und geht auf Booker T ein - die Invasion nimmt klar an Fahrt auf. Das wird auch durch das folgende Match bestätigt: zunächst gewinnt Rhyno den Titel von Test zurück, bevor ihn sich Mike Awesome - seines Zeichens WCW-Wrestler - unrechtmässig aneignet. Zweites Titelmatch, zweiter Titelwechsel, billig umgesetzt und auf keinem Fall auf dem Niveau des Vorabends. Tazz verteidigt NY in unter einer Minute. Es folgt die Krönungszeremonie Edge's welche seinen Faceturn einläutet und die gute Promo mit Billy Gunn (Stichwort 'Human Vacuum Cleaner') hervorbringt. Albert hilft den Dudleys und DDP gibt nochmal Kniegas gegen den Taker. Bis zur DQ-Niederlage geht Matt Hardy drei Minuten gegen den Riesen und lässt Raum für mehr. Edge besiegt dann auch Billy - wobei sich Christian die Loyalitätsfrage gefallen lassen muss. Nachdem Jericho den Austin-Ersatz Tajiri abgefertigt hat, kommt Vince noch einmal in den Ring - das nutzen Shane und Booker um den großen Upset eines Angriffes auf den WWF-Chef zu starten. Im Ring keine große Show, abseits davon (Benoit fehlte verletzungsbedingt) setzen sich viele kleine Puzzleteile und Animositäten ganz langsam zur Invasion-Story zusammen. WCW gegen WWF - damals eine Schocker Show ohne Matchqualiät."
[8.0] "The Invasion begins! Shane O'Mac und Gefolgschaft mischen den Madison Square Garden auf und Vince bekommt den Arsch versohlt. Gute Idee, die 24/7-Klausel des Hardcore-Titels auszunutzen. Logisches Booking, das auf die Zukunft hoffen lässt."
