[7.0] "A great start for the WWE PPV calander of 2019! Every single match on this card does its job well. The opening match was really great and the debut of WALTER was awesome as well. [***3/4]"

[7.0] "Meiner Meinung nach ein einfach Solides erstes NXT UK Takeover Event damals. Der Opener ist gleich mal mein Match Of The Night und einfach Unterhaltung pur. Genau mit so einem Knaller muss jeder Großveranstaltung beginnen, denn dann bleibt man auch definitiv am Produkt hängen (****3/4). Finn Balor war dann bei diesem Event die Überraschung Überhaupt und liefert mit Jordan Devlin ein Solides Match ab. Die beiden Iren haben aber eine Gute Chemie miteinander im Ring (***1/4). Eddie Dennis vs. Dave Mastiff fand ich dann richtig richtig schlecht und absolut 0 Sehenswert, trotz einer guten Stipulation. Das NXT UK Women's Championship Match war auch Solide & Toni Storm bekommt ihren Moment und wird neue NXT UK Women's Championesse. Sehr schöner Moment und die Crowd war an diesem Abend wirklich komplett On Fire, aber dazu später noch was (***1/4). Pete Dunne vs. Joe Coffey fand ich dann richtig Stark! 1 - 2 Botches inbegriffen die leider etwas Unschön aussehen und das Match leider etwas runterziehen, aber ich finde bei so einem Willen Beider, ein starkes Match zu gestalten, kann man schonmal drüber hinweg sehen. Pete Dunne verteidigt seinen NXT UK Championship was zu erwarten war. Und dann nach dem Match der riesen POP und ein ganz Toller Moment für Wrestling Deutschland & dem Land Österreich. WALTER Gibt sein Debut und man bekommt das absolute Dream Match "Dunne vs. WALTER". Gänsehaut! (****1/4). Insgesamt denke ich muss man auch wenn die Matches hier bis auf den Opener & den Main Event, nicht das beste Waren, trotzdem 7 Punkte geben. Grade wegen der Außergewöhnlichen Empress Ballroom, welche einfach eine Wunderschöne Halle gewesen ist & für die Crowd die wirklich Feuer und Flamme bei diesem Event gewesen ist."

"Die erste und letzte Show, die ich mir von diesem Brand angesehen habe. Eigentlich hatte ich kein Interesse an der Show, wusste zu diesem Zeitpunkt aber nicht, was ich mir alternativ geben sollte. Ich war nach dem Gucken stocksauer, das war für mich pure Zeitverschwendung. Nach dem wirklich guten Opener ging es immer steiler bergab. Ach ja, am schlimmsten war das Publikum, das sich im Grunde nur selber abgefeiert hat."

[7.0] "This was a fun event, I honestly could go without the No Disqualification match and the Finn Balor versus Jordan Devlin match was very underwhelming. Good show overall."

[6.0] "Absolut durchschnittliche Show, die meines Erachtens nach sogar enttäuscht hat. Die beiden Highlights waren ganz klar Tyler Bate und Pete Dunne! Der Main Event war dann auch Match of the Night, aber nichts zum lange erinnern. Der Auftritt von Walter und die Fanreaktionen waren schon cool!"

[6.0] "A decent and quick show with some solid matches, though a bit of trash. [Bitter Young Vets vs Moustache Mountain] - 4 1/4 stars (Match of the Night). [Finn Balor vs Jordan Devlin] - 3 stars. [Dave Mastiff vs Eddie Dennis] - 1 1/2 stars (Worst of the Night). [Rhea Ripley vs Toni Storm] - 2 3/4 stars. [Pete Dunne vs Joe Coffey] - 3 1/2 stars. Average match rating: 3 of 5 stars (or 6 of 10)."

[7.0] "Der Opener hat viel Spaß gemacht und war das klassische NXT Big-Time Tag Team Match. Gute Spots und Near Falls. Stellenweise fand ich das Match etwas langweilig ****. Finn Balor gegen Jordin Devlin war auch gut und eine nette Überraschung. Match war relativ ausgeglichen was ich gut fand *** 1/4. Das No Disqualifikation Match wusste auch zu überzeugen. Ich fand es Unterhaltsam und besser als ich es erwartet hätte *** 1/4. Toni Storm vs Rhea Ripley fand ich dann doch was enttäuschend. Ripley dominierte zu lange und abgesehen von den letzten paar Minuten war es nicht so gut. Finish fand ich auch nicht optimal umgesetzt ** 3/4. Pete Dunne vs Joe Coffey war sehr unterhaltsam. Ein wirklich gutes Match, welches aber leider einen Overkill hatte. 10 Min weniger hätten dem Match echt gut getan. Das dann zum Schluss der Spot auf dem obersten Seil 2 mal verhauen wird macht es leider nicht besser. Irgendwann reicht es den beiden und Dunne macht einfach seinen Finisher. Das Match hätte eine höhere Bewertung von mir bekommen können, jedoch hat der Overkill es ab einem gewissen Punkt leider was versaut ****. Im großen und ganzen eine gute Show wo kein Match richtig schlecht war, aber es gab auch keinen Showstealer. Dafür aber 2 ziemlich gute Matches."

[7.0] "Opener zum Start des ersten NXT UK Takeover war schonmal absolute Spitzenklasse. Schöne Spots von beiden Teams und Drake und Gibson passen als Team richtig Gut zusammen. Und sie konnten direkt einen Großen Sieg feiern nach dem ''Ticket to Mayham'' (****1/2). Nach dem Opener wurde man dann noch sehr übberrascht mit dem Auftritt von Finn Balor. Hätte hier einen Sieg von Jordan Devlin auch Gut gefunden, somit hätte man ihn weiterhin gut bei NXT UK gepusht und er hätte auch richtung Title Picture gehen können (***1/2). Dennis vs. Mastiff war dann ein gutes No DQ Match mit großartigen Kraft Spots. Toni Storm vs. Rhea Ripley war dann Inordnung aber nicht wirklich mein Fall. Finde beide aber sehr Gut und hätte Ripley auch die Titel Verteidigung gegönnt (***). Den Main Event fand Ich dann viel besser als es zum beispiel Meltzer hier bewertet hat. Das Match war zwar in den Anfangsminuten sehr langsam und ruhig, zog aber dann von Minute zu Minute immer mehr an. Das Finish vorallem war ein richtiger Schock. Coffey kommt aus dem Bitter End raus (Weiß jetzt nicht mehr genau der wie vielte das war.. 2 oder 3) und Ich habe mir nur gedacht ''Oha jetzt holt sich Coffey den Titel.. '' Danach hat Dunne ihn aber direkt abtappen lassen. Match war bis auf die 2 - 3 Botches echt nicht Schlecht. Aber das der selbe Move halt 2 Mal Daneben geht war schon echt mies. Und das WALTER dann Dunne noch Konfrontiert war ein richtiger Gänsehaut Moment für Mich (****1/2). Fazit: Es kommt zwar jetzt nicht direkt an das Original heran, aber Wenn man mal überlegt war der erste NXT Takeover Event auch nix ganz großes. Es war trotzdem ein Guter Erster NXT UK Takeover Event und Ich hoffe noch auf viele weitere."

[7.0] "Der Opener ist gleich mal ganz klar das Match des Abends. Das war wirklich eine gute Mischung aus technisch starkem Wrestling, gutem, smarten Tag Team Wrestling und dabei besonders guter Zusammenarbeit der Heels Gibson und Drake, die generell subitles aber dennoch starkes Heelwork zeigten, sowie starken Powerspots und vielen Nearfalls und einer somit langen aber spannenden Finishingphase. Dann sollte es Devlin gegen Banks geben. Ich finde den folgenden Angle ganz passend zu Devlins Charakter, aber als er sagt er wäre Irlands bester Wrestler war natürlich klar wer da rauskommen würde. Das Match an sich ist nicht überbordend spektakulär aber anständig mit Devlin als Heel und vor Allem auch einer guten Schlussphase. Mastiff gegen Dennis ist im Anschluss an ganz guter Brawl mit anständigen Tisch und Kendostickspots aber ich finde, dass man noch ein bisschen mehr aus dem Hardcorearsenal hätte schöpfen können. Das WomenŽs Title Match hat einen guten Start aber flacht danach etwas ab, auch wenn es am Ende mit Tonis Titelgewinn einen schönen Moment kreiert. Das ME ist dann natürlich ein sehr intensiver, stiffer back and forth Schlagabtausch aber in meinen Augen schon etwas zu lang, sodass es sich schon an manchen Stellen etwas zieht. Walters Debüt ist dann natürlich noch mal ein Kracher im Anschluss. Insgesamt gab es kein Lowlight bei dieser Show, aber nach dem Opener auch nichts wirklich herausstechendes mehr sondern alles ist absolut in Ordnung mit noch ein paar guten Momenten aber mehr als sehr anständig ist das insgesamt dann nicht und deswegen auch 7 Punkte wert."

[7.0] "Eine wirklich starke Show, wie ich es erwartet habe, trotz, dass ich noch nie eine Ausgabe von NXT UK gesehen habe. Vom Feeling her war es wie eine Mischung aus einer europäischen Indy-Show und einem frühen NXT Event wie Arrival oder das erste Takeover. Der Opener war sehr stark, vermutlich das MOTN. Wirklich technisch ein hervorragendes Match, dass perfekt als Opener war und wirklich genug Zeit bekam. Überraschenderweise haben Drake und Gibson gewonnen, wohl weil es zu offensichtlisch gewesen wäre Moustache Mountain den Titel als erstes zu geben. Früher oder Später werden sie ihn aber sowieso bekommen. Das zweite Match hat man nun ausgetauscht und hat stattdessen Balor gegen Devlin gebracht, was ich gut fand, da mich das Match sonst null interessiert hätte und Balor hier endlich mal wieder zeigen konnte, wie gut er ist. Auch das hat mich sehr an die frühen NXT Events erinnert, dass einer aus dem Main Roster kommt und ein Match hat. Das nächste Match war okay, konnte mich aber nicht wirklich abholen, liegt aber wohl auch daran, dass ich die weeklys nie gesehen habe. Rhea Ripley vs Toni Storm war gut, obwohl ich es vorhersehbar fand, dass Storm hier gewinnen wird, denn damals hat Ripley doch auch den Titel vor allem deshalb gewonnen, um es unvorhersehbar zu machen. Aber beide sind wirklich starke Wrestlerinnen und vor allem Rhea Ripley ist wirklich sehr stark, sie ist einfach so unglaublich badass. Die beiden sind für mich die Zukunft des Women's Wrestling in der WWE. Der ME war sehr stark und ich finde ihn etwas underrated. Beide sind sehr stark und besonders Pete Dunne ist einfach unglaublich gut. Auch hier konnte man zwar den Sieger erahnen, aber das war auch die richtige Entscheidung, denn so ist Dunne wirklch noch krasser und hat einen unfassbar krassen Titlerun. Das Debut von Walter danach war natürlich richtig episch und ich freue mich so sehr, dass er direkt einen ME Spot bekommt. Vielleicht wird er ja der sein, der Dunne den Titel abnimmt."

[4.0] "This show effectively killed off most of the interest I had in the NXT: UK brand. The tag match didn't connect with me, the one match I was excited for didn't happen, and Dunne/Coffey is my least favorite match of the year so far, just 35 minutes of absolute garbage."

[5.0] "First things first: UK crowds are the most annoying crowds in the world. I don't find their constant singing and chanting endearing; it genuinely just feels like they couldn't care less for the wrestling and just want to make themselves the centre of attention. Cue me being Mr. 'No Fun Allowed'. Hey, I'll accept that title in this instance. Anyways, this show was totally unremarkable. Bate & Seven vs Drake & Gibson was alright, but carried 90% by Bate. That kid is a great in-ring talent. I didn't care for the other 3 guys, nor the story told of Seven getting worked over. ***. Balor vs Devlin was difficult to enjoy because it was so heavily centred around Devlin being a heel, which limited how much he could show off in the ring. He got a few cool moments towards the end, but sadly having it all forced through that heel role of his was quite off-putting. He's wayyyy better as a fiery babyface. **1/2. Mastiff vs Dennis was a trademark 'ugly brawl' match. Lots of bland hardcore spots here, but at least a few interesting spots as the match progressed too. Sadly the pace was never quick enough to properly excite. **1/4. Ripley vs Storm was outright bad. This is meant to be the story of this big heel champion finally getting taken down by the fan-favourite babyface, but the wrestlers executed that story terribly. Ripley's dialogue was incredibly cheesy, and her movement was embarrassingly green for someone who has apparently been wrestling for 8 years. These two just didn't have any chemistry. Storm's babyface desperation came off more like someone annoyingly whining, so I couldn't buy into her struggle. Finish came out of nowhere and was super underwhelming. **. Dunne vs Coffey was MOTN, and actually kind of good. It was a typical NXT 'epic' match, but I thought it was mostly executed well despite that annoying structure. There was obviously some noticeable awkwardness, yet still plenty of fun exchanges and spots. ***1/4."

[7.0] "This was a nice show with nice matches... Starting off with first UK Tag Team Championship Match, I was almost sure Moustache Mountain was going to win, I'm suprised when it was Drake & Gibson. Match was very nice but also there was very sloppy moments, Gibson's selling was bad. He reacted too late to some of the moves which is kinda annoyed me a litte. My favorite moment in the match was Brainbuster & 450 Splash combination. Nice match (****1/4) Finn Balor vs Beta Finn Balor was ok, I'd prefer to see original match but that was cool too for what it was (***1/4) Then we get to see a No DQ match that didn't mean anything really. It was filled with spots but they didn't do too much really, I can't say much more about it. Slam on the steel steps was cool I guess (***) Then there is women's match for UK Women's Championship. Both Toni Storm and Rhea Ripley are great wrestlers but they didn't deliver very well in this match. Toni countering Ripley's finisher, and Toni doing her finishing move for 2 time to get the win from Ripley was nice things about the match (***1/4) And main evet of the night and best match on the card is Dunne vs Joe Coffey for UK Championship. This was a crazy good match, they went and performed all the things that they could pull out. At the end of the match both were very exhausted. I like how Dunne couldn't get the win with Bitter End for 3 f'in times but when he finally get the fingers he won the match. I can understand why people didn't like this because there were botches, it was too long, some of the moves didn't executed well etc. But if you don't mind the botch at the finish that they went to tope rope for a move and botched exactly for 2 times, rest of the match turns very good and bearable actually. I can already see this as one of the best matches of this year (****3/4)"

[6.0] "If NXT UK TakeOver Blackpool was a sandwich, it was one where the slices of bread were a lot better than the filling. It got off to a great started, meandered along for the rest of the way, before picking up again with the main event, all capped off with a red hot post-match angle with the debut of WALTER."

[8.0] "The opening tag team match was the Match of the night. Long main event that could have been shortened a bit."

[7.0] "The opening Tag Title match was excellent stuff, and the rest of the card was solid overall. Good special-attraction mentor-vs-trainee match in Balor-Devlin, strong Women's Title match between Storm and Ripley, and a decent hoss battle in Mastiff vs Dennis. The main event definitely featured some good action - and I do like Dunne a lot - but overall I felt it went on way too long (it could probably have stood to have had at least ten, maybe fifteen minutes trimmed from its runtime), had a few too many finisher kickouts and a couple of major botches in the late-match corner moves. Overall a solid show, with the strength of Mustache Mountain-Grizzled Young Vets bringing it from a 6 to a 7."

[6.0] "The tag match was a really fun contest and without a doubt match of the night(***3/4), quality dipped from there although with devlin-balor fun but unspectacular(***), dennis-mastiff ok but skippable(**1/2), ripley-storm very dissapointing(**) and coffey-dunne a bit too overkill, dissapointing to see the bitter end buried abit, the match wasn? t bad although(***1/4). Walter-Dunne should blow everything here out of the water."

[9.0] "First NXT UK TakeOver was almost very good in my opinion.... 1) Drake & Gibson VS Moustache Mountain was awesome match and in my opinion BEST MATCH of this PPV..... 2) Balor vs Devlin was fine , but honestly i didn't enjoy so much of this match :-s..... 3) Mastiff vs Dennis was good , was short match with a few moves but was good...... 4) Toni vs Rhea was almost good but i expect more for this match :-s ..... 5) Dunne vs Coffey was another awesome match..... Overall was almost very good but 1 or 2 match was so slow :D but because it was first uk takeover i choose 9 point xD"

[9.0] "Ich habe bisher keine Ausgabe von NXT UK geschaut, daher wusste ich nicht so wirklich was mich erwartet aber Lust auf die Show hatte ich schon. Der Opener ist direkt das MOTN. Beide Teams erfinden zwar das Rad nicht neu, jedoch beherrschen sie die Bascis so derart gut, dass das Match einfach klasse ist. Zudem sind alle 4 over und gehen in ihren Rollen auf. Beim zweiten Match mochte ich den Angle mit Traivs Banks nicht, ich finde da hätte man im Vorfeld Balor direkt ankündigen können. Hatte dann erst Angst, dass es ein Squash wird, was zum Glück nicht der Fall war, denn das Match ist sogar ziemlich gut und ich verstehe auch, dass man hier Mentor vs. Schüler bringen wollte. Eddie Dennis habe ich hier zum ersten Mal gesehen und ich fand, dass er ziemlich Indy aussieht, jedoch ansonsten eine gute Leistung gezeigt hat, auch das Videopaket war gut. Cooles Match, wie ich fand. Toni Storm vs. Rhea Ripley war ebenfalls sehr ordentlich. Der Main Event zieht sich trotz der Länge glücklicherweise nicht zu sehr und ist ebenfalls gut, schade, dass es im Finish 2 Botches des gleichen Moves gab. Und dann ist da ja noch das Debut von Walter, was ebenfalls sehr cool war. Insgesamt eine starke Show, bei der die Gesamtheit als Show besser ist als die einzelnen Matches."

[8.0] "I could be born in America, Canada, Japan or UK... I was born in italy were wrestling is seen as a stupid thing. So... Amazing beginning for NXT UK takeovers series... fantastic and great HHH & Co to make this brand a English Brand in WWE and not vice versa. The style and setting of the show has been Classic UK style of Wrestling and less Sport Entertainment. Great Opener from Moustache Mountains vs Grizzled Young Veterans. Classic Great Work from Zack Gibson to Seven's left Arm and Great finish Sequence and Great Selling from Trent Seven mostly in executing the finisher with Tyler Bate. Great Finn Balor Comeback but the match's interest ended after Balor's Entrance. Eddie Dennis vs Dave Mastiff has been over the expectations. If Dave Mastiff would have been a competiro in the late 80's they would have said that he cames from mars (ps Great heel promo from Eddie Dennis). Good match between Toni Storm and Rhea Ripley and happy to see Toni with the Title. Main Event was Classic Bruiserweight buffet of Strong Style and both of them gave everything they had pushing themself to the bsolute limit. It has been a main event different from classic main event of WWE style, more rustic, strong and realistic for fine palates. Great Finish with Bitter end + Triangle Choke. The Walter Arrival has been perfect absolutely perfect. When I knew he signed I was sad about the fact I thought htey would have put him to job at NXT USA, but they used him to perfection in a envirioment that made him istant main eventer... Good Job WWE.. Can't wait to see Walter vs Pete Dunne. Overall a great show at the eve I thinked that this show it would have been never comparable to The orginal NXT Takeovers but I was Wrong. Of Course We have had much better takeovers in USA but this is a good start of something new."

[7.0] "Ich trau mich eigentlich fast gar nicht so wirklich eine Bewertung abzugeben. Versteht mich bitte richtig, die Show war solide und völlig in Ordnung. Aber sie kommt für mich einfach an keines der amerikanischen TakeOver heran. In den US Versionen schafft man es den Mix zwischen WWE Storytelling und US Indie In Ring Work hinzubekommen. Hier bei der UK Version wirkt vieles irgendwie deplaziert. Das herleiten des Balor/ Devlin Matches wirkt lustlos und gibt uns letztlich ein Match bei dem Beide ihre Klasse schuldig bleiben. Dennis/ Mastiff erinnert mich schlicht an Corbin/ Dempsey und ist auch weit unter den Möglichkeiten der Beiden. Storm/ Ripley ist nicht schlecht aber man merkt das Torni Storm Ripley um längen voraus ist. Bleibt ein Tag Team Titel Match als Opener das von seiner Tribute Einlage lebt und in meinen Augen nicht zwingend die richtigen Sieger hat (sicherlich gibt es ne Folgefehde, aber mal ehrlich, MM wären einfach sinnvoller gewesen) und ein Main Event bei dem ich mich frage wo andere mehr als 4 Sterne gesehen haben) Vier Sterne? Möglicherweise. Aber darüber hinaus? Nope, sehe ich nicht so. Auch der Hype um WALTER (und ehrlich ich bin ein WALTER-Mark) will mir nicht abgehen. Entweder habe ich zu hohe Erwartungen an der NXT UK Produkt oder die Messlatte wurde in den USA zu hoch gehängt. Jedenfalls will dieser Hybrit aus Progress und WWE Booking bei mir nicht so stark zünden das ich ihm was höheres als eine 7 geben kann."

[9.0] "It was a great Takeover, for NXT UK to start on the right foot, starting with the opening fight, it was incredible, everyone was betting on Mustache Mountain, but Gibson and Drake were victorious, and still managed to consolidate even more as the main heels of division. Devlin vs. Balor was very good, he had not seen a fight so good from Balor for a long time, and the pop that he received was amazing, I hope he appears again in the division to continue the rivalry with his student. Next it was fight that niguem expected a lot, but was very solid and with good moments, the choice of Mastif as winner was right, because now he must get on the route of the UK Championship. Women's fight was good as well, I expected and wanted a Rhea victory, but I was already waiting for Storm to win because of their victory at MYC, so I expect a great reign from Storm. The Main Event, and that Main Event, it started slow is was heating up with time, I did not expect much from Joe Coffey, but he managed to surprise me, came moments that I thought he would win the title, but the Bruiserweight held firm and was able to perform another defense successfully, and to finish the great debut of WALTER, the crowd singing their theme song was incredible, my expectations for the next Takeover are even bigger. My Rattings: James Drake & Zack Gibson Vs. Mustache Mountain (**** 1/2), Finn Balor Vs. Jordan Devlin (*** 1/2), Dave Mastiff Vs. Eddie Dennis (***), Toni Storm Vs. Rhea Ripley (*** 1/4), Pete Dunne Vs. Joe Coffey (**** 1/2)."

[9.0] "Aus einem übersteigerten Konkurrenzdenken geboren und mit einem wackeligen Start debütiert wurde NXT UK von Taping zu Taping besser und ist nach 24 Ausgaben bereit für den ersten TakeOver-Event. Halbwegs. Die Card ist zum Teil stark (Dunne/Coffey) aufgebaut, zum Teil etwas dünn (Devlin/Banks). Der Hype war bei mir trotzdem da, vor allem aber die Neugier, wie der Event sich schlagen wird. Zwei Jahre nach dem UK-Tournament ist der Empress Ballroom wohl der ideale Austragungsort für den Event. Das Setting typisch UK, typisch NXT und typisch TakeOver. Kompakt, minimalistisch und trotzdem bzw. eben genau deswegen auf den Punkt. Passender Opener mit schöner Homage an die British Bulldogs. Klassische Tag-Action kombiniert mit einigen starken Sequenzen, die sich sehenswert zu einem wirklich guten Match steigert. (****Œ) Für mich die richtigen Sieger. Drake strahlt hier, Bates Physis ist bald nicht mehr normal. Das Angle um Banks sitzt und ist für das erste TakeOver gut gewählt. Schöner Pop für Balor. Das Lehrer/Schüler-Match ist gut aufgebaut, präsentiert Devlin als giftigen, aber eigentlich chancenlosen Newcomer. Ein Nearfall mehr hätte der Paarung gut getan. Dennis zeigt mehr als man erwartet hätte und Mastiff präsentiert sich wieder als spaßiger Big Man. Zielstrebig geht es die Stipulation ausfüllen von Impact-Move zu Impact-Move. Geht gut durch so. Toni und Rhea hätten mir ihrer klaren Face-Herausforderin/Heel-Champ-Ausgangslage die Show stehlen können, aber gerade Toni gelingt dies nicht so, wie man es vermutet hätte. Schade! Der Main Event bekommt eine Menge Zeit und das methodische Pacing (wenn man es positiv ausdrücken möchte) von Coffey kommt hier schon sehr zur Entfaltung. Das Anziehen der Dynamik sitzt dann aber und die Action wird stark. Ein Nearfall von Coffey hatte mich fast. Schade um den doppelt verpatzten Top Rope-Spot, aber ist trotzdem ziemlich gut in Summe. (****Œ) Und dann erhält ein guter TakeOver-Auftakt den würdigen Abschluss. Stark inszeniert."

[4.0] "NXT UK is going to be so rough to watch. Going forward, they are quite obviously relying on stories told elsewhere in British Wrestling. First three matches were alright but the latter two was the equivalent of sewage found in your food."

[8.0] "A good event. The tag team match was very good. Balor/Devlin was solid and a very smart decision to keep the fans excited. Mastiff/Dennis was meh and I liked Storm/Ripley. Although undoubtedly Dunne/Coffey was the best of the night, amazing match: very intense, long (apparently a problem if it is not New Japan stuff) and with a well told story. Also the presentation of WALTER was exciting to watch."

[8.0] "I was concerned about this PPV because I have not seen a single episode of NXT UK and thus had no investment in any match. However, in terms of a debut show, this was a great way to start. The crowd was absolutely red hot and proved why there should be a Wrestlemania in the UK. /// Opening tag match was some incredibly solid stuff, I thought for sure they were going to have MM win the titles but I liked the element of surprise. Another thing I enjoyed was the lack of pin attempts which can hurt a match if too many are attempted. (****1/4) //// Finn was also a pleasant surprise and I loved the Student vs Teacher story between him and Devlin. (***) //// Dennis/Mastiff was fine. nothing else to say. (**1/4) //// Sadly, Ripley vs Storm fell totally flat for me. Really sloppy in parts and when it wasn't sloppy it was mediocre. Sad. (**1/2) //// The main event was absolutely spectacular. The only thing that hurt it were those 2 very odd top rope spots/botches. This match alone made me ready to be a regular viewer of NXT UK (****3/4)"

[6.0] "Tag titles: ****1/2. Fantastic. Seven & Bate are just a tremendous team, and Gibson & Drake really looked good here. Fantastic match that needs to be seen. Balor/Devlin: ***1/3. Good. This was basically 2 clones wrestling each other. Good, maybe a bit disappointing. Dennis/Mastiff : ***. By the end, good. Crowd cared little for this. Dennis doesn't impress me. Mastiff is alright. This for most of it, was just there. Toni/Rhea : ***1/2. Pretty good, but you could definitely feel something was missing. I can't put my finger on it, but something in the building felt off. This fell a bit below expectations. Main Event : ***2/3. This built to a great match, and then kept going for another 10 + minutes. This went way too long for me. I don't know why this had to go so long. They did not have 30 + minutes of stuff. They just didn't. Had this been in the 23 minute range this would have been so much better. Just too long. Crowd liked it though. Show was good. If comparing to NXT takeovers, its weak for sure. Only thing that is must see is the opener."

"Grizzled Young Veterans vs Moustache Mountain - very good match with a few strange spots and reactions, perhaps not used to WWE PPV presentation camera work? That minor niggle aside an excellent way to start NXT UK, really entertaining and the minutes flew by. 9/10 Balor vs Devlin- mad pop for Balor, crowd super hot. Pretty decent but that's about it. 7/10 Mastiff vs Dennis - typical big man brawl with some good power spots from both men. Enjoyable. 7/10 Storm vs Ripley - these two didn't have that great chemistry and it was booked very strangely but wasn't bad, just I've seen Storm in much, much better matches. They're both young so there's promise here. 6/10 Dunne vs Coffey - Very good match, not quite as good as people are making it out to be. 8/10 Overall: 8 also WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER WALTER"

[7.0] "Opener war klares MOTN und Takeover Niveau **** 1/2. Balor vs Devlin war ganz cool. Schöner Suprise Moment mit Balor. Match selbst war solides RAW Niveau. *** 1/4. Dennis vs Mastiff war ein solider Hard Hitting Brawl mit einigen starken Spots und einer guten Crowd ***. Storm vs Ripley war ziemlich gut. Ripley ist awesome als Heel und Toni war super Over. Titelwechsel war klar, aber trotzdem gut *** 3/4. Dunne vs Coffey war ein solider Main Event. Zäher Start, guter Mittelteil mit starken Spots und ein verdammt seltsames und schwaches Finish. Schade da war mehr drin. *** 1/2. WALTER Debüt war FN AWESOME und der MEGA Feel Good Moment."

[2.0] "Seven & Bate vs. Gibson & Drake was a hot opener, but not a match for my tastes; they went & wanted to deliver the MOTY, and it sure was quite workrate-y - just generic moves all the way through, went far too long (*), Bálor/Devlin gets the MOTN honors from me - thought it was a really fun, compact bout w/ some solid psychology throughout + a nice teacher vs student dynamic to the boot (***1/2), Mastiff/Dennis was a super generic big lads no dq slow, sluggish brawl - not bad, but so, so forgettable (*1/4), Ripley/Storm was pretty bad - thought that Storm looked overly choreographed in everything she did, and that's literally the worst thing one could think watching a match, imo (*1/2), the main event was better on 2nd viewing, but still far from good; it felt all over the place, but there was a couple of solid, singular moments (*3/4). Match quality wise, certainly not a good show. Balor vs. Devlin was really good though, and the debut of WALTER gave me goosebumps."

[5.0] "Mediocre show. The only thing that was worth a watch was the opener. But it was still far from MOTYC. Good FIP by Seven and hot tag by Bate. Good crowd reaction as well. Balor/Devlin was solid but nothing special at all. No DQ match was decent but again far from memorable. Women match was painfully mediocre. What a huge disappointment here. Storm was a total bore here and Rhea wasn't much interesting either. Felt like it had no real story, drama or any reason to care. Just soulless moves after moves and shitty striking from both. The main event suffered the same problem with NJPW main events: go overlong no reason and try to create epic style in general but failed to do. Match was not very bad just there. And those finishers kickouts emphasize the way WWE creates great matches."

[7.0] "Da haben wir also die erste Show des UK-Rosters von NXT - und sie enttäuscht nicht. Sie brilliert aber auch nicht unentwegt. Die Matches, besonders die ersten drei, finden auf gehobenem Mittelklasseniveau statt, was unterschiedliche Ursachen hat. Im Opener merkt man, dass Moustache Mountain hier nicht die gleiche Chemie mit ihren Gegnern auf die Beine bekommt, wie sie es an vielen anderen Stellen z. B. mit Gallus geschafft haben, zuletzt beim Taping der UK-Episode #24. Trotzdem ist das immer noch ein solides Match, zudem mit für mich überraschendem Resultat. Balor soll dann wohl als Kompensation das Publikum wieder motivieren, was ihm anstandslos gelingt, so dass es auch für Devlin eine Würdigung ist, mit diesem prominentem Performer arbeiten zu dürfen. Als Match durchaus passabel, aber nicht höherwertig. Das gilt übrigens auch für Mastiff und Dennis, wobei letzterer zwar einige beeindruckende Kraftdemonstrationen präsentiert, das Match aber in der Stipulation und dem Cannonball-Table Finish etwas hinter den Möglichkeiten zurück bleibt. Dafür ist das Damen-Match überzeugend und auch nach dem Match einfach nett. Am Mainer kann man nicht viel aussetzen, das ist der intensive Brawl, der durch die Story vorab suggeriert wurde. Es ist auch die richtige Entscheidung, den Gürtel bei Dunne zu lassen, und da jetzt auf eine hochinteressante Konfrontation mit dem Ring General aus Wien hinzuarbeiten. Da die Show gerade in der ersten Hälfte latent hinter den Möglichkeiten liefert, dabei aber nicht abkackt, ist das für mich eine gesunde Sieben. Den absoluten Steal gibt es dann ja auch nicht."

[10.0] "This show was such a blast. Opener was great, best match on the show. Loved the British Bulldogs homage from MM. The whole Balor/Devlin deal was done perfectly and did a lot for Devlin who I feel will be an important heel on the brand moving forward. Mastiff/Dennis was a lot of fun, some impressive displays of strength and athleticism. Storm winning was interesting, I wonder if Rhea's moving to US NXT. She feels like a bigger star than any other women on the brand, including Toni, already. Main event was far too long but the last 10-15 minutes were very enjoyable. And that ending with WALTER making his debut, just how everyone remembers him down to the music and coat, was fantastic. Good matches, correct booking, great setting, noisy crowd, memorable moments. The NXT UK brand has got off to a solid if a bit tepid start on the weekly shows but this show knocked it out the park."

[9.0] "Sehr gute Ausgabe von NXT UK Takeover. Der Opener war gut. Die Heels wurden die ersten NXT UK Tag-Team Champs wovon ich auch ausgegangen bin. Ich hätte nicht gedacht das Drake einen 450 Splash drauf hat. Seven blutete am Hinterkopf nach einem Schlag Drakes und Bate hat sowieso die Show gestohlen. Devlin vs Balor war in Ordnung. Auf das Match Schüler gegen Lehrer habe ich schon gewartet. Banks hatte wohl noch zu wenig Matchpraxis deshalb war es ein toller Bonus Balor zu sehen. Natürlich musste sich Devlin geschlagen geben. Dennis vs Mastiff war in Ordnung. Ein ziemlich solider Brawl. Überraschend ist für mich Dennis Stärke der Mastiff den High Cross verpassen konnte. Die Women waren solide. Etwas enttäuschend. Chemie hat nicht so gepasst und sonst auch kaum Fahrt aufgenommen. Der Star der Division holt sich den Titel. Der Main-Event war gut. Erste Hälfte mit sehr vielen Submission Griffen zweite Hälfte war spitze. Wie auch bei der Vertragsunterzeichnung gewinnt Dunne mit Fingerspitzengefühl. Walter gibt sein Debut welcher ein Top Neuzugang für das NXT UK Roster."

[7.0] "A decent pay-per-view. Great way to kickoff the NXT's UK brand. The crowd was smoking hot, full points for that. The opener was the MOTN, insane wrestling between two of the best tag teams in the World. Balor got a decent pop and a decent babyface win. The No DQ match was average. Toni Storm finally got what she deserves, Ripley is a great young talnet though. The main event was a downer. Felt extremely long and awkwardly paced. Dunne retained so that's good. Walter's introduction was great. My money's on him dethroning Pete. Overall, decent show."

[7.0] "Ein sehr ordentlicher Beginn einer hoffentlich langen Reihe von NXT UK Takeovern. Der Opener ist sehr gut und der Main Event wird es zum Ende hin ebenfalls. Der Auftritt von Finn ist ein netter Bonus, das No DQ Match ein solider Brawl und das Toni vs. Ripley allemal gut anzusehen. Sehr schöne Show, wenngleich nicht überragend, aber das so das alles auf keinen Fall schmälern."

[10.0] "This event was so much fun . I love the UK Crowd. My favorite moment of the show was when the crowd started chanting "Are you watching Vince McMahon" during the dune Coffey match. Dunne/Coffey was one of the best wrestling matches I have ever seen. And the debut of Walter was an awesome moment to close out the show"

[10.0] "So sieht modernes Wrestling aus, wenn man alles richtig macht. Definitiv meine neue Lieblings-Show ich hatte schon ewig kein derartiges Glücksgefühl mehr beim Wrestling gucken."

[8.0] "Overall, I can say that it was a good first PPV for the brand. The Main Event was the best fight of the night and surprised me a lot. I was expecting something good, but not so much. (****œ) The Tag Team Title Match also stole the show and gave quite a bit of expectation for the rest of the event. I was expecting a victory for Moustache Mountain, but I was not disappointed with the final result. (**** Œ)The rest of the PPV was not so good, but it was not bad either. Due to the wrestlers who participated in No DQ, I could not expect much of the fight, but gave some good spots. (***) I liked the surprise they made with Finn Bálor. Seeing a fight between student and trainer was unexpected, however I think it could have been done through a rivalry rather than a replacement. (*** œ)I was a bit disillusioned with the result of the women's match, as I feel Ripley still had a lot to offer as a champion. It was a nice fight, but nothing special. (***œ) To end the event, we had the best surprise of the evening. Dunne was celebrating the victory and were already closing the show, so he thought that WALTER was not going to appear. All I know is that they've managed to put me in enough hype to eagerly wait for another TakeOver."

[7.0] "The opening tag team match was a great, long, back-and-forth bout, and the outcome really surprised me because I was sure Moustache Mountain would win (****1/4). Finn Balor replacing an injured Travis Banks was a nice surprise, and the match was good even though I don't think they were going all out; they probably were playing it safe so as not to risk Balor getting hurt on a show like this (***1/2). The No DQ match was okay, but nothing too special (***). Storm vs. Ripley wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be based on what I've seen from these two before, and I thought it was really predictable that they'd put the title on Storm after everything she's been through recently, but it was still good nonetheless (***1/2). The main event was great. Throughout the second half of it, it seemed like either guy could win at any time and it was truly unpredictable. Although they messed up what probably would have been the finishing spot twice, they made the best of it and it didn't look too bad (****1/4)."

[8.0] "Opener war perfekt gewählt, hat direkt richtig Dampf und Stimmung reingebracht und auch die Crowd war komplett da. Tyler Bate hat in diesem Match meiner Meinung nach absolut abgerissen. Die Sieger sind gut gewählt und sorgen dafür das MM nicht direkt seinen Feelgood Moment bekommen den man sich dann für ein weiteres TakeOver aufheben kann. [**** 1/2 Das Travis Banks herausgeschrieben wird hat sich irgendwie mit der Attacke vor der Show angedeutet dort dann die Schüler/Lehrer Story aufzugreifen war super und die Crowd und auch ich selbst ging einfach Steil als Balor hinauskam. Match war grundsolide, eines der besten Balor Matches seit langem, Devlin hatte gute Spots und starkes Heelwork. Ein Sieg wäre für mich zu früh gekommen wäre damit aber auch nicht unglücklich gewesen [*** 1/2] Dave Mastiff vs Eddie Dennis hatte seine paar Momente waren ein paar nette Spots dabei vor allem der Spot auf die Stahltreppe und das Finish waren schön anzusehen. Sieger war mir persönlich egal beide hatten gute Chancen [*** 1/4] Das WomenŽs Title Match hat mich persönlich etwas enttäuscht, habe mir etwas mehr zwischen den beiden erwartet. Die Synergie und Dynamik zwischen den beiden hat irgendwie nicht gepasst. Titelwechsel war zwar ein schöner Moment für Toni, macht das Match aber auch nicht besser. [*** 1/4] Der Main Event war einfach eine Bombe! Anfangsphase noch recht verhalten aber dann wirklich stiffes Wrestling. Unzählige meiner Meinung nach gute Spots die mich permanent gefesselt haben, einzigen negativ Punkt sehe ich im etwas verbotchten Finish, hätte gerne gesehen was sie wirklich geplant haben. [**** 3/4] Und dann am Ende eben der Staredown zwischen Walter und Pete Dunne... war einfach ein wunderbarer Abschluss für das erste NXT Takeover UK."

[5.0] "Overall this was a hit and miss show with a few good-decent matches but two bad ones too. The opening tag was awesome with greats showings from all guys, even James Drake. A pretty good Balor/Devlin match which will only do Devlin some good, and the Dennis/Mastiff match wasn? t half bad either. I just had no invested in the match with the guys involved and me not watching the feuds, the crowd seemed to like it and so did most on twitter. But the last two matches were both really, really awful. Two totally different matches but both failed on a big scale. Storm underdog matches don't work, and Ripley was a disappointment compare to her great showing in the MYC. And a main event that went way too long, was really boring for the most part and a messed up finish.
