601.01.2019DeatmatchGuyBeyazit9.0BJW has changed a lot after I ended up with the federation. Their veterans start to stand their ass and they have left their stupid traditions. Jun Kasai's return will be effect federation further in 2019. Takeda vs Takahashi match was better than Kasai vs Takeda in August.

1114.11.2018skrambr07.0Very good all-round event, but one also lacking the killer match usually found on larger Big Japan shows to push it over the top. Kojika opening video was tremendous. Undercard was somewhat of a tempered disappointment. On one hand, nothing stood out as a diamond in the rough like some of the Endless Survivor counterparts managed to do. However, on the other, there were thankfully no drastic dirges in quality - remarkable when considering there seemed to be a few places on the card where this could have occurred (see: Kojika/Koshinaka/Brahmans vs. Party Boys/SOS [largely for the former pairing], Okami vs. Uto/Kikuta, Okabayashi/Kawakami - and I loved the booking in the latter two matches! ) We know how great Uto can be in deathmatch contexts (full-time transfer plz) but I think karateka Kikuta would work better there as well. Tag Championship tables match was short but super fun; I loved the resourcefulness of Sakuda being put over via him smartly slamming the leg of the table into Nakanoue's hands while they were jostling for it! Hashimoto/Aoki was good; the latter is continuing to progress at a lightning pace. 045 Junkies vs. Ito/Kobayashi was great. Kasai was by far the most exciting element of this show. Semi-final was ok - obviously not my type of matchup. This was about on par with the Yokohama match from earlier in the year (not necessarily a good thing), though credit should be given here for at least keeping this to a palatable duration. Main event was the highlight and above all, another strong booking decision. Takeda is obviously at the point where the belt does nothing for him, so it's wise to instead utilise it to accentuate talent that aren't at that level yet, like Takahashi or Tsukamoto (likely to be the first challenger). Still, there was a certain malaise that this result (and its context as closer to the biggest event of the year for Big Japan) brought on - not necessarily a great end to the show.

1312.11.2018Makai Club 9.0Very good show with some cracking matches. The last four matches were all good-great, like Hideki/Sekimoto and Takeda/Takahashi and the show never dragged. Had everything Big Japan offers and loads of variety. I wouldn't call it my show of the year though.
1411.11.2018laldila10.0What a great show! Nothing was bad or boring, it flew by and didn't feel its length, and it positions lots of wrestlers in new and interesting places. The highlight was the main event of course, but the last six matches all had something unique and cool to them and the undercard was a good showcase with Abe, Nomura, Uto, Miyamoto and Hoshino really shining. And of course, it was the end of an era as Masashi Takeda's record breaking, once in a life time Death Match title reign came to an end. I can't wait to see what's next for him and for BJW as a whole, which has become my favorite promotion in the world.
