[9.0] "One of the more iconic episodes of the Monday Night Wars and one of the bigger moments of the Attitude Era simply because Mick Foley won the WWF title and it was executed to perfection. Place blew off when Austin came out and was hot for Foley winning. Rest of the show was solid. WCW made a big mistake advertising this title change. Don't know what they were thinking, especially considering the BS they were about to pull with the Fingerpoke of Doom."
[6.0] "Wow this show is really loved. I didn't like it as much as other but the Austin pop and Mankind winning the belt was cool. D'Lo vs. Edge was rocking but then they had the miscarriage angle and Mankind cut a bad comedy promo earlier. The other parts of the show are forgettable."
[9.0] "The pop that Stone Cold received when his music played at the end of the main event was probably the loudest pop I have ever seen. Not a super memorable episode other than that."
[10.0] "Really good opening segment with Shawn revealing he has an iron clad contract so Vince can't fire him, he comes out with DX and also since he can control any WWF superstar except Austin, so he makes Vince who drew #30 now enter at #2 in the rumble. Mankind getting screwed in his match against Triple H, but afterwards attacking Shane in order to get his WWF title match later was brilliant. Hardcore match was surprisingly entertaining. The match was actually a pretty good brawl, then we got to the part where the glass breaks, Austin hits Rock with the chair, and finally Foley has won the WWF title, making everything that has happened to him in the past couple of months worth it."
[10.0] "Most matches on this show sucked apart from the last two. That hardcore match was fun and the main event? The main event is one of the most classic moments in wrestling history, the whole show built up to this from two storylines, Michaels "Stone Cold surprise" and Mankind demanding a title shot. Despite most of the show lacking, this show also had that terrible Terri miscarriage segment, just that one moment at the end made it great."
[7.0] "Von den Storys war es hier ziemlich geil, aber wrestlerisch konnten nur die letzten beiden Matches überzeugen und Mankinds Titelgewinn ist natürlich ziemlich cool."
[8.0] "Die Ausgabe beginnt mit der Konfrontation von McMahon mit der Corporation und der DX, welche ihm Stone Cold als Überraschung später verspricht. In der Folge setzt sich auch die Konfrontation von McMahon und Foley fort mit einem gute Rededuell, was in dem Match gegen Triple H resultiert, was Mankind zwar verliert, aus welchem er sich durch die Bedrohung von Shane ( welcher hier ja Referee war) das Championship Match im ME rausschlagen kann, was er am Ende auch tatsächlich gewinnt. Das ist komplexes Storytelling über eine Episode mit dem Feel Good Ende. Davon abgesehen war als Match wahrscheinlich nur das Hardcore Title Match relevant, in dem Snow und Road Dogg einen wilden, kreativen Brawl zeigen, der sogar raus in den Schnee geht. Henry gegen Goldust ist als Match weniger relevant als das, was nach dem Match passiert mit Chyna und ihrer Freundin. Das kann man mögen oder nicht aber die schauspielerische Klasse von Henry in dem Moment ist absolut da. Bei D-Lo Brown gegen Edge stand das Wrestlerische ebenfalls nicht im Vordergrund aber hier gefällt mir die Story auch nicht wirklich mit der "Gefährdung" einer Schwangeren. Auch das Two on One Handicap Match war ein reines Storymatch. Insgesamt hat man hier natürlich zum einen die tolle Story um Foley und weitere Storyfortführungen und Entwicklungen sowie das verrückte Hardcore Match. Es ist auf jeden Fall viel passiert. Aber nicht alles davon war unbedingt gut und das halt vor Allem auch, was das In-Ring Geschehen angeht. Dennoch war das vom Unterhaltungswert her eine gute Show, welche 8 Punkte verdient."
[10.0] "Just an awesome Raw is War episode, one of the greatest of all time. So much interesting stuff happens. We have the reunion of DX at the beginning. Confrontation between Vince and Mankind is very entertaining. Some other cool segments and storyline development. Shawn Michaels being destroyed by the Corporation is really interesting because of what Triple H sad before it. Hardcore match is pretty good. Main event is enjoyable and of course we have amazing moment with Mankind winning his first WWF title. That was a bad idea for WCW to spoil it. Steve Austin made his return, finally. Nearly everything on this show except maybe segments with Dennis Knight is very good. Simply 10/10."
[8.0] "Sehr hohes Rating für diese Show, was einfach dem Main Event geschuldet ist. Ich möchte den Main Event nicht kleinreden, da es nicht nur für Mick Foley sondern auch für den ganzen Verlauf des Monday Night Wars ein wichtiger Moment war, aber dadurch gleich die ganze Show in den Himmel zu heben, wäre zu übertrieben. Trotzdem war dies eine der besseren Shows der letzten Wochen mit dem angesprochenen Genialen Main Event und einem sehr spaßigen Hardcore Titel Match. Schöne Show."
[10.0] "I consider it the perfect episode of Raw. It's exciting because not everything is announced and it delivers some twists and Mankind first WWF Championship. Not only The Rock vs Mankind is a good main event, but the Hardcore match between Al Snow and Road Dogg is enjoyable with the snow outside, Shawn Michaels as a commissioner rocks the show and Steve Austin makes a legendary appearence against The Rock. Really great, maybe the peak of the Attitude era."
[6.0] "Steve Blackman Vs Ken Shamrock *. Mark Henry Vs Goldust *. Test Vs The Godfather DUD. Mankind Vs Triple H **. Edge Vs D-Low Brown **. Two on One Handicap Match DUD. Road Dogg Vs Al Snow ***. Mankind Vs The Rock ***. Most of the matches were not good except for the last two matches but I cant really give this show a bad rating because 1. The insane moment when Mankind won the title 2. The crowd was great 3. It played the storylines good. So overall a good show."
[10.0] "Richtig guter Beginn mit einigen wichtigen Ankündigungen. Blackman gewinnt gegen Shamrock dank Severn und Billy Gunn. Starke Promo von Mankind und dann auch McMahon. Habs das letzte Mal schon geschrieben die ganze Geschichte um Mark Henry interessiert mich nicht. Venis greift Test beim Match gegen den Godfather an, das passt. Shane kostet Mankind relativ schnell das Match und somit den Spot im Rumble, aber dann muss Shane bezahlen und Mankind bekommt den Spot am gleichen Abend. Edge gegen D'Lo war richtig ordentlich, das Zeugs mit Terri muss dann aber nicht sein. Die Stooges müssen auch bezahlen, Kane steht weiter unter der Kontrolle von McMahon, der ihn sonst wieder in die Psychiatrie schickt. Al Snow hat immer noch die blutigen Klamotten an und das Match mit dem Road Dogg ist richtig spaßig. Die DX hat Michaels doch noch nicht verziehen und dann wird HBK aufs Übelste von der Corporation attackiert. Dann kommt der unglaubliche Main Event mit dem zurückkehrenden Stone Cold, der Mankind zum WWF Champion macht. Absolut geniales Ende einer ganz starken Show."
[10.0] "It does not help WCW that RAW was a great show. This is called delivering. WCW did it with Luger in 97 for five days..... then with Sting briefly and Goldberg. But more often than not they do not live up to the hype they build up. Here the WWF did so; they teased a Mankind win all night and delivered. For how long is another question but as of right now it makes RAW more watchable than it has in some time as it portends that anything can happen. However, their were warts, such as Terri and the terrible pregnancy angle. Shawn as commissioner still makes little sense. Why hire him and take power away from yourself? I wonder where they would have went with it had he not needed surgery. I have read he would have sided with Vince and fought HHH at WM. I also heard that WWF hinted at Nash laying down for Hogan, as they often go back and do some commentary. And that is what made Bischoff angry but I did not hear that but I could have FF'd through that small part. Lawler did diss WCW. The set up and ending of the show was five stars and the filler in between minus the Hardcore match pretty much stunk."
[8.0] "Die Episode kickt mit einer soliden Promo und dank Severn und Mr. Ass fährt Blackman einen Überrschungscoup ein. Die anschliessende Promo zwischen Mr. McMahon und Mankind ist in meinen Augen sogar noch besser, als die zu Beginn der Show. Henry gegen Goldust ist gerade noch ansehbar, die Story zwischen Chyna, ihrer "Freundin" und der Sexual Chocolate derzeit eher bizarr und verwirrend als interessant. Das Match zwischen Test und dem Godfather wird durch Val Venis ruiniert - auch hier weiss man noch nicht genau, wo das Ganze hinführen soll. Shane McMahon betrügt Mankind im Folgematch mit einem Quick-Count aus dem Rumble, viel wichtiger jedoch, was nach dem Match passiert und wie Foley an sein Titelmatch kommt. HEUTE! Edge und D-Lo haben eine starke Chemie, leider endet die Partie mit dem angeblichen Verlust von Terri's ungeborenem Baby in einer Writing-Katastrophe. No Contest - da haben die Stooges Glück, dass Kane nicht mehr Zeit bekam. Im soliden Hardcore-Match gibt es einen entscheidenden Piledriver im Schnee. Vor dem historischen MainEvent erwischt es HBK noch einmal richtig, aber dann endet eine typische Attitude-Episode mit einigen Höhen und wenigen Tiefen krachend. Gute weil kurzweilige TV-Show."

[10.0] "Die Folge in der Mick Foley... Ach, lassen wir das Spoilern. Die Reaktion des Publikums auf das zersplitternde Glas ist nach wie vor einer DER Gänsehautmomente schlechthin. Solche Pops wünsch ich mir zurück. Gibts leider heute (trotz Cena & Batista) in dieser Form nicht mehr."
