Okay maybe this won't be super positive, but I actually have some real nice things to say about half this show. The New Japan Junior heavyweight, intercontinental and heavyweight title matches were great, and the 4 corners Tag and ROH world title matches were good. Everything else sucked to some degree. I felt bad when I saw the whole place get up to get snacks during the women's match but when I saw how it ended, I wished I went with them. Rush squashed Dalton Castle despite Castle being one of the most over guys on the show, ZSJ and Tanahashi was boring and the Bully Flip power hour was a mess. Shoutout to PCO for taking a powerbomb from the Ring to the floor, that was disgusting (in a good way). Truly a tale of two shows."

Mayu Iwatani v. Kelly Klein (5/10) - Fine, nothing spectacular. Lifeblood & Flip Gordon v. Bully Ray, Silas Young & Shane Taylor (5/10) - Had some real crazy spots, but really long and drawn out. Taiji Ishimori v. Bandido v. Dragon Lee (8/10) - Three of the best wrestlers doing what they do best without overstaying their welcome G. O. D. v. Villain Enterprises v. Briscoe Brothers v. LIJ (6/10) - Felt a little disjointed, still a fine match. Best to ignore the Enzo spot. Zack Sabre Jr. v. Hiroshi Tanahashi (9/10) - My personal favorite match of the night, ZSJ is so good man & Tana sells like no other. Tetsuya Naito v. Kota Ibushi (8/10) - Craziness, pure craziness here. Jay Lethal v. Matt Taven v. Marty Scurll (7/10) - Ladder stipulation felt unnecessary, still a great match with miserable ladder spots. Jay White v. Kazuchika Okada (9/10) - These two are so great and so young, I can't wait to see them go at it for years to come."

Super Chemie, tolles Wrestling, die Crowd on fire. Ganz stark. Insgesamt eine gute Show m"

Vielleich können The Allüre hier etwas helfen.

The NJPW stuff was generally quite strong, with an excellent Ibushi vs. Naito match as a particular highlight, and after a good main event, I think putting the belt back on Okada was the right move for the time being. The ROH side was mostly OK with a few puzzling decisions (while the Women of Honor division needs a shot in the arm, I'm not sure the Beautiful People are the ones to do it, and I can't see bringing Enzo and Cass in as bringing much positive to the product either in publicity or in the ring), though I did like their main event as well. But, if the ROH side did maybe whiff a few things for their big MSG moment, overall it was still a pretty enjoyable show overall."

For the pre-show, the Honor Rumble lacked some major star power. Few stars and plenty of unknowns. Fun rumble nonetheless. The reactions for Jushin Liger and the Great Muta were spectacles in their own rights. Dodgy finish tho. Jeff Cobb against Will Ospreay was the perfect match to start the main event with. Great match to fire the crowd up with plenty of high impact moves and near falls. Rush vs Castle was a shocker. Match lasted seconds and Castle went berserk afterwards. A reverse hurricanrana botch slightly hurt the Women of Honor title match, but the majority of the match was a lot better than expected. Good effort from both women. Post match was some good stuff. The street fight was fun, but longer than it had to be. The kendo stick spot was sick! Junior Heavyweight title match was great and could have benefited from more time. Dragon Lee was a star here. The Briscoes should have walked into the tag title match as ROH tag champs and walked out double champs. Regardless, this was a a solid match with lots going on, but the star was PCO. I think this is one of those few times I gave him attention and pretty glad I did. Tanahashi and Sabre had a great match with plenty of wrestling, and two men trying to outdo one another. I enjoyed the limb work from both men. The closing moments were fantastic. Naito vs Ibushi was excellent and could main event any show. Both men took one another to the absolute limit. The ladder match started off well but eventually dragged on longer than necessary. Some good offense from all three men. Nothing else of note happened other than the result. Main event was a very good match that was only derailed by the antics of Jay White, but both men did great with a fantastic reaction to Okada winning. Honestly, this event was great and enjoyable. Props to all."

I wasn't feeling Ospreay/Cobb that much, it wasn't bad but Ospreay seemed sloppy to me. Definitely the right winner though. I was hoping Rush/Dalton would be a real match but I've heard Castle is pretty beat up, so maybe he can take some time off to come back strong. I liked Klein/Mayu, no idea why people are crapping all over it. Klein really picked Mayu apart, and she was her usual great self. The Beautiful People being hired by ROH is very stupid though. I actually really liked the hardcore six man too, way more than I expected to. Bully can still put on a show. Dragon/Ishimori/Bandido was super fun. The 4way tag, quite honestly, was my MOTN, thanks mostly to Brody King and especially PCO, who had the best entrance at probably 4 of the top 5 spots of the night, the man is amazing. Sabre/Tana was very good. Ibushi/Naito was good but feels overrated to me, they went all out for sure but I guess it's not my kind of match. ROH ladder match was great, really overperformed. The two title unification matches were also enjoyable, as was the Jr title match. However, despite the match quality late in the show, the length definitely hurt it, as the crowd was dead at the start of most matches and had to be won over, which fortunately they were."

Mayu tried hard but Klein didn't put in a good performance at all, and the return of Velvet Sky, Angelina Love, and Mandy Leon completely turned the crowd off. The Honor Rumble showed how little depth the ROH roster has, being full of their lower card guys, whereas the NJPW contingent had some star power in Goto, Fale, Ishii, Suzuki, Liger, Shingo etc. Cobb vs Ospreay was a fantastic match that really set the bar for the rest of the show. I enjoyed Rush vs Dalton Castle for what it was, Rush came out of the match looking like an absolute beast pinning a formed ROH World Champion in 15 seconds, and it added a lot of shock value to the show. The ROH Women's title match was god awful, Klein and Iwatani had zero chemistry. I could have done without this match and the New York Street Fight altogether. The show was drastically rescued by the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title three way, and it was great to see Dragon Lee given a chance to take the gold and run with it. Bandido looked really impressive here too. The ROH/IWGP Tag Title match was exactly as it was expected to be, but had some really awesome moments such as PCO getting powerbombed to the floor. I was let down a bit by Tanahashi/ZSJ as they've had far better matches. Not a bad match by any means but they've had way better. Ibushi vs Naito was awesome, I don't remember the last time I saw either have a bad match. I thought their NJ Cup match was better, but this one was still fantastic. The ROH World Title match was alright... but with most ladder matches now, there has been that many, all the spots have been done to death, and I just don't enjoy these matches anymore. Okada vs White was a classic, and it's nice to see the fall of the Rainmaker come full circle and retake his spot back on at the top of the company. Overall a decent show. ROH needs to step it up, as it's plain as day that NJPW are in a completely different league to them."

This was ALL action. Bandido did something nobody has ever seen before. Very fun. Tag titles match: ***1/2. Very good, pretty short. PCO, what can i say that hasn't been said. Not alot of LIJ in this. And Enzo & Cass? Jesus. Why? Why on earth would you hijack your own show? ZSJ/Tanahashi: ***3/4. This needed more time! Just a few more minutes and it would have reached great. I can't stress enough how much i disagree with the finish. Naito/Ibushi: ****1/4 Great match. This delivered. Naito was really over. Taven? Please. Main Event: ****1/2. This was great. It ended at its high point and it delivered. White was great, as was Okada. Takeover was better, but this was a great show. The ROH stuff looked so awful, I would call it embarrassing. Thankfully New Japan saved them from looking like a complete clownshow. Just watch the New Japan Stuff."

[4.0] "Only half of it was good but the bad segments, length of the show, and bad RoH production drags it down a fair bit further. RoH needs to go away, most of what they had a significant portion of barring Castle/Rush and the Tag-TItle match was terrible and reeked of amateurism. Kenny King and Kelly Klein sucked the wind out of the crowd, Bully Ray needs to go away and that segment going like 30 minutes was really bad. Cobb/Ospreay was good but Cobb already gets booked by NJPW and will probably take Elgin's path through RoH to NJPW by the end of the year. I did like the RoH Title match was it was too long for the sake of going long - fifteen minutes off and it would have been better since it was just big spots with a lot of downtime inbetween. On the NJPW side and speaking of going long for the sake of it, Okada/White was terrible and lazy and Okada's moving in slow motion and really needs to stop. NJPW's parodying themselves now with this trite main event style. Sabre/Tana was lazy and stuck in first gear all the way through but thankfully didn't go 32 minutes. It's depressing though to see Tana do so much for the company and spend years talking about his dream of working MSG only to be stuck in the midcard losing to Sabre when he was IWGP Champ just two months ago. IC and IWGP Jr matches on the otherhand were terrific car-crashes, loved Ibushi giving the Nakamura nods in the former too. The Tag-Titles match was also a great car-crash with the scariest bump I've ever seen but PCO is still alive so it's all good. Dalton Castle sucks so Rush squashing him was hilarious."

Rush wasted and hopefully this is the end of the Jay White experiment. Bandido/Ishimori/Dragon Lee was barely a match just 3 guys waiting to do another big move pointless. Great to see Muta & Liger together What is wrong with american wrestling fans? the entire event was long periods of silence punctuated by WOAHH on big moves and pointless chanting "Both These Guys" and "This Is Awesome" can f*** off WHERE'S THE HEAT? WHERE'S THE REAL EMOTION?"

Mal sehen, was Ospreay jetzt macht.

This was an interesting show. ROH took the approach to do lots of angles to maybe try and attract new fans with stuff like Dalton Castle's heel turn, The introduction of the allure stable & the Enzo and Cass thing. Meanwhile NJPW decided to just go out there and deliver killer matches. The end result is a very major NJPW like show just with a bit of variety of wrestling thrown in instead of the usual multiple eight man tags. I thought it was good fun all the way through. Although ROH didn't really grab my attention, the NJPW stuff was basically consistent four matches."

ROH for some baffling reason seems to think that the future of their promotion is to book it exactly like 2007 era TNA but without the wealth of talent '07 TNA had. The worked shoot with Enzo/Cass completely killed the crowd for half an hour, so poor Tanahashi made his MSG debut to confused murmurs instead of the megapop he deserves. It was like NJPW threw a party for the fans and ROH showed up drunk, annoying everyone with QAnon conspiracy theories. Disappointing."

[5.0] "Gonna be kinda lenient with the rating but good lord what a mess of a show. Kenny King ruining the feel good finish of an extremely boring Rumble with 1. 5 spots in it was a sign of things to come in first half. Cobb/Ospreay should've been loads crazier, I hate Ospreay but was still astounded how dull this was. Just feel sorry for Dalton Castle and want him to leave the promotion badly. Women's match absolutely awful through no fault of Mayu, Klein regains the title and it felt like a huge step back for the division and a disservice to women's wrestling - Angelina, Velvet and Mandy Leon then forming a stupid Delirious faction made it even worse. Juice no sells a "horrific backstage attack" in a pointless but fun enough match. Junior title - very fun stuff and was badly needed by this point. Tag titles were SUPER fun, put that on the matchguide instead of these dull, dull main events - PCO is incredible man, THAT BUMP was simply incredible and PCO is by a distance the most interesting guy in ROH right now. Then apparently Enzo & Cass turned up lol, those guys aren't real friends, so that was a work and ROH genuinely thinks it's a good idea to bring those guys in! ZSJ/Tana I was focusing on trying to get Enzo info, but a nice final stretch (literally). Ibushi and Naito MOTN, they have a mutual hatred of necks - you already know what this match was, though there were some clunky moments and they've had better matches together. Ladder match - one of the worst ladder matches ever, the pacing was so bad and finally killed my last remaining enthusiasm for the show. Had Gedo decided to switch up his main event formula it could've ended on a high note, but of course he fucking didn't and it just got interesting 5 mins from the end. A torturous final two matches to sit through and a laborious show to say the least. Only true saving graces are: Jr. Title, awesome tag titles match and MVP performance by PCO and a great neck smashing fest in Ibushi/Naito."

Cobb vs. Ospreay was pretty good, and I thought it would end in a time limit or no contest or some other form of draw where both men would retain their respective titles, so having a decisive winner was good (***1/2). Rush vs. Castle (N/R). Klein vs. Mayu was okay, but a dead crowd brought it down (**). The Street Fight was decent (**1/2). The Junior Heavyweight title match was really good, but also seemed really short (***3/4). I'd say the exact same thing for the tag team title match (***3/4). The Enzo/Cass worked shoot invasion was extremely well-done and blurred the lines of reality. Sabre vs. Tanahashi was pretty good (***1/2). Ibushi vs. Naito was match of the night for me (****). The ROH world title match was pretty good, but not great (***1/2). Okada vs. White was really good for me as someone who doesn't follow NJPW or know any back story to this match, thus my rating for it might be a bit lower than an NJPW follower who was invested in the match (****)."

Of course, New Japan couldn't have booked MSG without RoH but having RoH around just made them look bad by association. If it was just the NJPW part of the show, it could have been a contender for best show of the year. Unfortunately, there was a Ring of Honor part to the show. If it was a pure NJPW event it would have been so good but with RoH in the mix there were too many poorly booked matches and the show was entirely too long. They just need to drop the RoH partnership or at the very least never book a major show with them."

Almost all the New Japan guys looked like major leagues stars, whilst almost all the ROH guys, either through their level of talent or the match they were in, and in some cases it was both, looked second rate, and that's putting it mildly. And there were some ROH names, like PCO and that fat slob in black singlet in the six-man, who looked like backyard wrestlers. Anything of quality on this show revolved around the New Japan talent."

[8.0] "Great Show overall ! I watched till the beginning of the M. E, it was like 5:30 AM for me and just passed out. The opener did what it had to do to warm us for the show. It seems that Ospreay can have a great match with anybody and can make them see as a million bucks. The Rush vs Castle match wasn't surprising for me, I had thought about the ending, it is perfect to elevate Rush. i didn't expect a hee turn though but I guess it is a great thing, Castle needs a change of character to freshen-up his career. The women's title was a bit throwaway, and I don't give a fuck about this new stable. The right women won though. The whole street fight thing was also good, it wakens us up a bit. Then you have this great great match for the Jr Title ! Although it went a bit too short, it fast fast and furious action all the time ! I'm ok with Lee winning cause it will give us the rematch vs Takahashi, but I thought that Takahashi would show up tonignt. The Tag championships was also fine, a bit short also but ok, totally happy for the Guerillas being double chaps, but please don't do again the whole Yano & a partner winning the titles, NJPW need a good long tag title reign for once ... . The RevPro title match was fine, technical as always, happy for Sabre to look strong in this win ! The IC Title was maybe for me MOTN, even though I've already seen them wrestle and this was more or less the same shit they do every time, even though it is always super fun to was them try to destroy each other's necks. The ladder 3-way was great, goos chemistry between the 3 and the ladders. Some brutal spots, and at the end Taven winning, which I'm ok with, I just would have preffered Scurll to win it... The M. E was good, still a bit unused to see White as a Main Eventer, but this will come. Happy for Okada to win back the title, needed to be done ! Just hope they"
