The card on it's own looks alright except a few filler matches and then we get into the show. Having the tag titles be on the pre-show was a joke and could have been done on an episode of RAW. The Six-Man Tag was very basic and not fufilling. Roddy Piper vs. Goldust was quick but a good time. Austin & Vega felt like filler and not interesting. The Ultimate Warrior buried Hunter Hearst Helmsley other than for his own ego. Undertaker & Diesel was alright but could have been better considering the hype. The Main Event was good but not as amazing as WWE describes it. Overall, this WrestleMania had potential to be a good one but ends up slacking off and failing steps. [**1/4] |

Bret and Shawn have a technical classic with Bret slowly turning heel while making Michaels look really strong going into his first world title reign. Other matches are fine too and there's nothing really that I didn't enjoy. The 6-Man Tag Team Match is a pretty decent opener with a strong build, Yokozuna being over with the fans and Vader looking like a proper monster. Piper and Goldust have a fun brawl throughout the whole show, while Austin and Vega deliver a professional contest with Stone Cold showing lots of promise with his new persona. Warrior returns but it's a pretty forgettable return to be honest and then The Undertaker and Diesel have a good match with a big fight feeling and Nash looking great as a heel. Overall a solid WrestleMania with almost no misses and a fantastic main event. |

I don't think you could rate this, honestly... Warrior vs Hunter - SQUASH/10 this was a squash match... but a very entertaining one. Undertaker vs Diesel - 5/10 a solid if not classic big man match. Iron Man - 3/10 very boring match. My least favorite of the card, honestly... Overall I'd say this was a pretty meh wrestlemania. And I'd give it a 4.66667 rounded up to a 5/10. |

Credit where it's due in that this was the 3rd time - after Macho Man at IV and Warrior at VI - that WrestleMania ends with a worthy main event talent being coronated as world champ for the first time (without a certain brother coming out to beat him afterwards). That's always a good note to end it on. |

The backlot brawl is far from being the highlight of the show, it was still quite entertaining and definitely not something which you would call a waste of time. The show had two really solid one on one matches. While the crowd wasn't really into Austin/Vega, these two men still put on a very enjoyable 10 minute match which put over Austin in a good way. Diesel/Undertaker was surprisingly very good, a nice big man vs. big man match. The show's only low point was The Ultimate Warrior vs. Hunter. While it did have the return of the Warrior which got the crowd excited it was a burial of Hunter who had been pushed quite well so far and was destined for main event success. Thankfully the loss didn't really affect Hunter although I believe if it was anyone else taking the loss, this would probably be the end of their push. The show had been going on quite smoothly so far and it needed the main event to deliver and boy did it deliver. A great 60 minute Iron Man match between two of the very best at that time and arguably of all time. While for the first half the match is nothing special, it picked up in the second half and till date is definitely one of the best WrestleMania Main events of all time. Overall a Great show with lot of fun stuff, truly worth a watch. |

Während man heutzutage versucht so viele große Matches wie möglich zu booken, hat man damals ganz klar fast die ganze Show nur auf den Main Event aufgebaut. Der Opener war recht witzig und brachte die Crowd in eine gute Stimmung(***). Das ganze Piper/Goldust Angle war mir relativ egal und dieses zog sich über mehrere Matches hinweg. Austin/Vega war einfach komisch und hätte auch einfach bei RAW gezeigt werden können(**). Warrior/HHH war das Lowlight der Show, aber hat zumindest den Leuten in der Halle gefallen. Taker/Diesel ist das Big-Man-Match der Show. War jedenfalls auch nicht schlecht(***1/4). Michaels/Hart hatte einen großen Aufbau und enttäuschte nicht. Ist mein MotN gewesen und macht das Event in der Gesamtbewertung deutlich besser(****). |

Das Opening Tag Team Match ist nichts besonderes, aber als Opener okay gewählt. Das nächste Match war wohl dafür da um noch möglichst viele Stars auf die Card zu bringen, denn die Namen sind sehr groß, das Match auch sicherlich nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht mehr. Goldust vs Roddy Piper, das bereits früher am Abend gestartet ist, ist ein klassischer Brawl, nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Danach gibt Austin sein Mania Debut und gewinnt gegen Savio Vega, was ein guter Aufbau Sieg ist. Der Ultimate Warrior darf danach HHH squashen, was absolut unnötig war. Das einzige sehenswerte Match neben dem ME ist dann wohl der Co Main Event Undertaker gegen Diesel. Die bisher wohl größte Herausforderung für den Taker bei Mania und dennoch kann er auch Diesel besiegen. Technisch sicherlich kein gutes Match, aber dennoch hatte es Big Time Feeling und die Ansetzung war keine schlechte. Nichts desto trotz steht und fällt diese Show mit dem Main Event zwischen Shawn Michaels und Bret Hart in einem 60 Minutes Iron Man Match. Sehr starke Ansetzung, zwischen den wohl besten In Ring Worker damals und den beiden aufstrebenden Topstars. Am Ende ist es auch ein wirklich sehr starkes Match, wobei ich nicht wirklich ein Fan davon bin die 60 Minuten ohne einen Fall enden zu lassen. Natürlich wurden beide dadurch sehr stark dargestellt, als gleichstark nämlich, aber dennoch ist es auch unlogisch, dass 60 Minuten kein Fall passiert und danach in einer Minute Michaels gewinnen kann. Am Ende ist es ein großer Moment für Shawn Michaels in einem der stärksten und größten Wrestlemania Main Events ever, doch dennoch hat die Show sonst leider kaum etwas zu bieten. Der ME ist aber ein Must See Match. |

The undercard is good, but not Great. First of all seeing Steve Austin at his prime in WWE carrear is incredible beause he was a very different worker from the one we saw taking on his back the WWF in the Attitude Era. Great tecnical worker was "stunning" Steve Austin, before the knee injury and neck injury. The squash between Triple H and Ultimate Warrior was a poor figure for HHH but not so ppor as I imagined. The image of him beated by Warrior has always been used in HHH carrear (feud with Sheamus) but we saw much more bad figure in the past and present, for example John Cena at WrestleMania 34 against The Deadman. Talking about the Deadman, good match with diesel. Incredible rewatching wrestlemanias because you can see the fact that Undertaker wasn't so unbeateble at that time, he was at the same level as Nash itself. The main Event is one of the best matches of all times, my top 3 probably main events ever at WrestleMania. Amazing Iron man match with the two most talented guys in the industry at the time . Rewatching it shawn wasone hell of a worker, great selling, great athletic ability and great charisma (let's face it, bret will never have the charisma shawn had). The story of the match is amazing, the young lion that trained himself to defeat the veteran that is always a step forward in counters and moves execution. A masterpiece in execution with no botches in 60 fucking minutes of pure wrestling, someone says it was too match mat wrestling but it was necessary for the lenght of the match. the "0-0" was perfect to tell the story they were at the same level, and that nobody was the real best, with shawn not taping out in the sharpshooter. Sicher nichts überragendes aber besonders die Rolle, die Owen Hart hier spielt ist sehr interessant und generell hat man einen ganz guten Mi von technischen guten Wrestlern, starken Charakteren ( vor Allem Roberts) und Powerhouses. Danach geht es leider rasant bergab mit dem ersten von zwei Lowlights des Abends. Golust gegen Roddy Piper ist eine komische Mischung aus Gimmick Match außerhalb der Arena und innerhalb der Arena, was sich auch noch über zwei Teile erstreckt und irgendwie anders und aufregend sein soll aber nur langweilig und gerade bezüglich des Endes auch noch peinlich. Austin gegen Vega ist okay mit Austin als Heel und der Einmischung von Ted DiBiase. Dann kommt das zweite Lowlight des Abends. Warrior squasht Triple H, nachdem er dessen Offensive komplett no sellt. Im Anschluss zeigen Undertaker und Diesel einen Hossfight, der okay ist aber nie mehr. Eine zu diesem Zeitpunkt schwache Wrestlemania Ausgabe wird noch in den okayen Bereich gezogen von einem Iron Man Match, dass mit dem 0:0 eine ungewöhnliche Matchstory und nach dem verhaltenen Beginn auch einen abwechslungsreichen Verlauf mit verschiedenen Elementen wie Kontern, Gliedmaßenwork und vor Allem auch den verzweifelten High Spots von Michaels zu bieten hat. Zudem gefällt mir das Characterdevelopment von Bret, der immer heeliger wird im Verlauf des Matches, sodass das Finish dann auch eine gute Reaktion ziehen kann. Man muss ehrlich sagen, dass bis zum ME WM 12 Gefahr lief eins der schwächsten Manias zu werden aufgrund von nur einem anständigen, zwei so okayen Matches und zwei Lowlights aber das ME zieht das Ganze für mich noch auf 5 Punkte. |

Alles was davor kommt ist entweder unbedeutend, schwach oder zeigt wenigstens gute Ansätze. Das Six Men Tag Match, an dem auch Roberts bei seiner letzten WM mitwirkt, kann man sich z. B. getrost ansehen. Interessant und verstörend: Der junge Triple H wird vom Warrior weg gesquasht. Das diesjährige Taker-Match ist, trotz Beteiligung Nashs, eine ordentliche Big Men Leistung. Auf Grund der außergewöhnliche Länge des Mainers stehen diesmal deutlich weniger Matches als zuletzt auf der Card. Ein Klasse-Match der vielleicht besten Wrestler aller Zeiten. Keinen Pinfall in die 60 Minuten zu booken finde ich mutig und stark. Es wertet den Pinfall als solchen extrem auf. Die erste Hälfte ist extrem langsam, die zweite Hälfte extrem mitreißend gebookt. Bleiben unter dem Strich abgerundete 5 Punkte. |

Grundsätzlich sind deutliche Vorboten der Attitude Era zu verspüren: Nicht nur, dass außer dem ME kein Match mit dem Ringgong beginnt, sondern die Kontrahenten bereits davor aufeinander losgehen, nein, außer in jenem ME wird eigentlich auch ausschließlich gebrawlt und das zünftig. Aber im Einzelnen: Der Opener ist langweilig und Yokozunas Team wirkt auch reichlich zusammengewürfelt (5/10). Mit dem Hollywood Backlot Brawl will man mal etwas Neues erfinden, das gelingt aber nur bedingt. Im 1. Teil geht es ziemlich hart zur Sache, die lange Pause mit Verfolgungsjagd im Auto ist aber nicht wirklich zielführend und die Luft ist praktisch raus, als man das Match vor dem ME im Ring zuende führt (6/10). Außerdem wird durch die Berichterstattung über die Verfolgungsjagd beispielsweise Steve Austins erstes WM-Match überlagert, das eigentlich ganz passabel ist, in dieser Form aber zur Nebensache gerät (6/10). Auch Triple H feierte bei WM XII WM-Premiere und durfte sich zur Feier des Tages vom zurückkehrenden Ultimate Warrior squashen lassen: so mies wie überflüssig (-1). Wenigstens der Undertaker bekommt erstmalig ein wirklich groß (episch) angelegtes Match bei WM gebookt. Diesel ist da sicher nicht der am schönsten anzusehende Ringpartner, das Match ist aber definitiv das zweitbeste an diesem Abend (7/10). Im ME spulen Shawn Michaels und Bret Hart quasi ihr gesamtes Repertoire ab, es zeigen sich aber auch die Schwächen der Iron-Man-Stipulation, v. a. das kräftesparende Booking am Anfang ? ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es das wirklich gebraucht hätte, in jedem Fall passiert in den ersten 20 min. praktisch nichts. Ohne diese lange Phase hätte das Match durchaus *****-Potenzial entwickeln können, glücklich ist hingegen die Sache mit der Verlängerung gebookt, so schafft man es, nach diesem langen Match ohne Entscheidungen die Spannungsschraube noch einmal anzuziehen (18/20). Gesamt: 6, 83. |

Only the opener match seems out of place. Not one of the greatest Wrestlemania but a good one for the in-ring quality. |

The show is saved by the Ironman match, which is a flawless wrestling match between two of the best in-ring performers ever to reach main event status in WWE. |

Die das Highspots-Fest das man im Opener erwartet, aber dafür hatte man auch nicht die Teilnehmer. Goldust vs Piper war Trash pur und kein wirkliches Match. Das Debüt von Steve Austin bei Wrestlemania war o. k. , aber auch nicht mehr. Die Rückkehr des Warriors ein enttäuschender Squash. Taker vs Diesel ist dann das erste ernst zu nehmende Match des Abends. Kein Klassiker, aber bis zu dem Zeitpunkt vielleicht das beste Taker Match bei WM. Der Main Event ist natürlich legendär, auch wenn ich ihn nicht so in den Himmel lobe wie viele andere. Mir gefällt die Stipulation einfach nicht und die ersten 30 Minuten waren wirklich mehr als zäh. Danach wurde es aber noch richtig gut. Insgesamt eine solide Show, die aber ganz klar eine One-Match-Show war. |
| 95 | 28.05.2016 | finest0000 | 6.0 | Opener so na ja Jake Roberts stört etwas sonst aber ok eine 5/10 Goldust war ganz lustig, mit der Verfolgung bis in die Arena aber eben kein Match deswegen keine Bewertung Austin war na ja war eben mit dabei, die Zeit von Austin kommt erst noch aber noch 4/10 Warrior gegen HHH war mies, zum Comeback des Warrior so ein Match. HHH so verlieren zu lassen war einfach nur schlecht. Startet aber Backstage gleich die nächste Fehde, mit Marc Nero das war positiv 2/10. Taker gegen Diesel war fast klar, das es so kommen muss. Wer hätte da aber erwartet das der Taker so eine Streu startet, es kamen danach ja deutlich stärkere Matches in seiner Streak 5/10. Der ME war für mich ganz stark, für das erste Iron Man Match sehr gut gemacht. Das es in der Overtime nicht allzu lange geht war auch fast klar. Für mich eine 8/10. |

Auch wenn aus dem Rest der Show wenig hervorstechen mag, so ist das ansonsten dennoch Unterhaltung auf solidem Niveau - Camp Cornette schwingt sich mit Vader zu neuer Dominanz auf und Steve Austin bringt ein erstes richtig solides PPV-Match über die Bühne. Auch wenn man im Parking-Lot Brawl viele Reminiszenzen an die OJ Simpson Autojagd verbrezelt - das macht das Ding nicht besser. Und das Ende ist schmuddelig bizarr, dafür gibt es keine Punkte von mir. Bleibt noch der Big Men Brawl zwischen Taker und Diesel zu erwähnen, welcher in Aufbau und Ablauf im Grünen Bereich anzusiedeln ist. Die Show steht und fällt mit der Hauptattraktion - und die reisst so einiges heraus. |

Austin gegen Vega war ganz gut. Der Warrior ist wieder da und besiegt mal schnell Hunter, musste nicht sein. Marc Mero ist da und bekommt sich gleich mit Triple H in die Haare. Undertaker gegen Diesel war ordentlich. Der Main Event war schon sehr stark, auch wenn es sich zu Beginn etwas gezogen hat. Insgesamt eine ordentliche WM. |

Goldust vs Roddy Piper war bei der Autoverfolgung spannend, sonst aber eher ein Brawl, den man nicht gesehen haben muss. Steve Austin(Ringmaster) vs Savio Vega jo war halt da. Da werden beide noch andere Zeiten erleben. Warrior vs Triple H hatte eigentlich nichts. Sables Auftritt neben Hunter war dann schon ein Highlight. Undertaker vs Diesel war das zu erwartene Match, nur warum verhöhnt Diesel den Undertaker. Als Co Main Event war es sehr spannend. Iron Man Match mit 2 meiner Absoluten Lieblinge zu der Zeit, dennoch auch mir manchmal zu lang. Die Stipulation war halt so. Hätte mir gerne ein Handshake angesehen, aber die Geschichte sollte zwischen den beiden ja ewig lange gehen. Fazit:Wrestlemania 12 ergänzt ein bis dain gutes WWF Jahr 1996 |
