Undercard konnte man sich wie immer gut anschauen mit einem kleinen Highlight in Form des Jr. Tag Title Matches. Yoshi-Hashi vs. Sanada war sehr ordentlich, ebenso Naito vs. Taichi. In meinen Augen sogar Taichis bestes Singles Match, welches ich bisher gesehen habe (liegt an mehreren Faktoren). Makabe und Suzuki haben einen gutes Veteranen-Match mit dem richtigen Rahmen der Anniversary Show und der Main Event ist ebenfalls gut, wobei es nicht hundertprozentig bei mir geklickt hat. |

Suzuki vs Makabe was the hard-hitting brawl you'd expect from those two, SANADA vs YOSHI-HASHI and Naito vs Taichi were solid, and the three-way Jr. Heavyweight Tag Title match was fun (though I do agree that that title has been passed around a bit too frequently as of late). A solid if unessential card overall, with a main that's worth seeking out. |

Sequenzen sind okay, aber nichts, was mich gebannt auf die Action schauen lässt. Solide Performance der schwarzen Badehosen. Nicht viel mehr. (**¼) Die Action im folgenden Six Man Tag-Match ist knapp schwächer, lebt von den Charakteren. Die Schwergewichte Jr. machen das ihrer Divison entsprechend kurzweilig und temporeich. Alle Teams können sich präsentieren und bieten einen ordentlich Auszug ihres Könnens. (***) SANADA und YH machen das in Teilen wirklich gut, aber da fehlt es mir etwas an Kompaktheit. SANADA überstrahlt seinen Gegner auch etwas zu deutlich. (***) Naito und Taichi gehen direkt in die Vollen mit typischer suzuki-gun-Action. Und der LIJ-Chef hat da ein ganz schönes Brett zu bohren. Ordentliche Intensität und ein in der Luft liegender Upset verleihen dem Match durchaus seinen Charme. Nette Aggressivität. (***¼) Die geht dann logischerweise mit dem nächsten Stable-Chef weiter. Suzuki strahlt wieder seine typische Killer-Mentalität aus und findet mit Makabe ein passendes Opfer, da dieser sich ebenfalls als harter Brawler definiert und hier kein Stück zurückweicht. Das funktioniert dann auch durchaus sehenswert. (***¼) Im Main Event gibt? s dann die Trademark Showcase Titelverteidigung für Okada. Mit Ospreay hat er dabei aber einen sehr dankbaren Gegner, der mit seiner Workrate gut zum Champ passt und in einigen guten Sequenzen die Sterne nach Hause holt. Die suggerierte Spannung ist natürlich nie da und stellt es eben ins Schaufenster, aber da fühlt sicht Ospreay ja immer ganz wohl. Okada reiht seine Trademark-Moves Drumherum. Da macht es Will ihm leicht. Gutes Ding! (****) Ordentlicher Event, der sich immer weiter steigern kann. |

SANADA vs. YOSHI-HASHI ein Gutes Match (***1/4). Naito vs. Taichi auch Gut. Taichi als Heavyweight passt ganz gut. Das Finish war in dem Match auch sehr Gut gemacht (****). Suzuki vs. Makabe eine Schlacht. Die haben sich richtig weg geballert. Ich liebe diese Stiffness einfach (****). Okada vs. Ospreay für mich ein klares 5 Sterne Match. Für mich trat hier ein Zukünftiger IWGP Champion gegen den amtierenden IWGP Champion an. Hoffe Ospreay bleibt nicht mehr soo lange in der Jr. Division. Match aufjedenfall (*****). Fazit: Eine ganz Gute Anniversary Show die eigentlich perfekt abgelaufen ist. Match of the Night war Glas Klar der ME. |

| 23 | 11.03.2018 | Sebastian V | 7.0 | Die ersten beiden Matches waren eher belanglos und ich hätte mir einen Tausch gewünscht und das Junior Heavyweight Match als Opener gehabt. Dieses überzeugt nämlich durch seine Spots, sein Tempo und die überraschenden, aber passend gebookten Sieger. Ich würde mich freuen, dass jetzt wo LIJ und Bullet Club eher in die Tweener Richtung gehen, Suzuki-Gun das neue, dominante Heel Stable werden würde. Die beiden Matches danach sind von der Anlage her ähnlich: Beide technisch und hart, obwohl ich Yoshi-Hashi und Sanada besser finde sowohl vom technischen als auch von der Charakterdynamik her. Das Intercontinental Match ist zwar eher eindimensional aber das was sie sagen ist gut. Es ist ein intensiver Brawl mit gutem Selling von beiden. Das Main Event ist dann für mich das MOTN. Ospreay kämpft als Underdog gegen den Champ Okada, der Ospreay mit Arroganzanflügen hinein lässt ( auch hier gute Charakterdynamik mit diesen Heeltendenzen). Die Unerfahrenheit von Ospreay zeigt sich jedoch wenn er wiederum entscheidende Fehler machen, die ihm das Match kosten. Gut erzählte Story und gut vorgetragener Styles Clash. Insgesamt würde ich dem Event 7 Punkte geben. Der Main Event ist vorhersehbar aber gut. Dennoch störte es mich, ein "einfaches" Match im Main Event zu sehen. Zudem gibt es zwei gute Matches (Junior Titles und Yoshi-Hashi gegen Sanada), zwei anständige Matches ( IC Title und Naito gegen Taichi) und zwei eher belanglose, die auch nicht schlecht waren. |

Sanada/Hashi was very good nearly great with hot crowd and good nearfalls. Naito/Taichi again delivered though it wasn't as good as their january match because of shorter time. Suzuki/makabe over delivered here-very good. Suzuki was great and the mvp of first 3 months. Makabe did better than usual although his selling was pretty spotty. ME was great. Love the mat sequences early. Although okada dominated a bit much, the match was still enjoyable with great back and forth action and hot crowd who were total behind ospreay. |

Jr Title Match ****, SANADA vs YOSHI-HASHI ****, Naito vs Taichi *** 3/4, Makabe vs Suzuki *** 3/4 und der Main Event **** 1/2. Taichi hat mich brutalst überraschend, genauso wie Makabe. Yoshi Hashi ist immer eine überraschung, ob das Match entweder Boring oder richtig gut ist. Der Main Event war das was man sich erwartet hatte. |

The word that comes to mind when thinking about this match is tame. This really was a B Level show so they wen't out there and had a B level show tame match. Great by the end. Pretty good show. |

Nö! Der Hautkampf war ein sehr schöner Kampf, welcher sogar ihren ersten Fight in den Schatten stellen konnte. Hat die Niederlage die Jr. Division runtergemacht, wie einer unter mir schrieb? Hell no! Ospreay war immer wieder kurz davor zu gewinnen verdammt. War Naito gegen Heavyweight Taichi langweilig? Absolut nicht! Der Kampf war für mich, auch vor der Show, höchst interessant wegen der Geschichte bei TAKATAICHIMania. Das Match von der genannten Show haben Naito und Taichi auch hier überboten. Young Lions die von Liger zertrimmt werden? Immer cool! Chaos (hehe) im Jr. TT Titlematch? Ebenfalls ne solide Angelegenheit. Ich habe mich rundum unterhalten gefühlt mit dieser kleinen aber feinen Show. |

Three way IWGP Jr. heavy tag team championship was interesting fight in many ways, ***1/4. Sanada vs Naito and Naito vs Taichi were two watchable bouts, ***. Suzuki vs Makabe was good in storytelling but execution was lame af ***1/2. Okada vs Ospreay started with interesting chain wrestling and then they went for some good fight in the air. Ospreay selling of the neck was acceptable but that was ruined after first Tombstone Piledriver. This match disappointed me because I never felt that Ospreay have some chance to win this bout and crowd felt it too, so the atmosphere wasn't as strong as in some other jr heavy vs heavy champ matches. But still this was very good match that showed that Ospreay has future in the heavyweight division, ***3/4. One time it's gonna be awesome. I think that this show deserves 7/10 |

Half of the fights are filler that basically do not contribute anything, even the same six and ten man tag team matches of every show. The only fights that are worth seeing are Suzuki gun Vs Roppongi, but it devalues ? the title once more by making it a hot potato, which New Japan has been doing lately with the junior division, although the fight was decent. Suzuki vs. Makabe was good, putting the intercontinental championship in the skies as it should. Okada vs. Osprey was a show worthy of the Main Event, although again, it devalues the junior division. Nice show, but lack of Gaijins, especially the BC. |

| 56 | 06.03.2018 | arrancar | 7.0 | A very solid show from NJPW with a lot of diverse match-ups. I briefly saw the opening multi-man tag matches and they were all fine, but skippable. Roppongi 3K vs Hiromu & Bushi vs Desperado & Kanemaru was lots of fun. Further focus on Sho's back from the Suzuki-gun team, and Sho sold well in real-time (though his long-term selling was basically non-existent). I liked the story of both the LIJ and Suzuki-gun teams fighting over who would get to work over the inexperienced champions. Hiromu was great every time he ran around delivering some ridiculous moves. Great finish with all the heel shenanigans but very disappointing result with R3K losing. ***1/2. Yoshi-Hashi vs Sanada was yet another good match between these two. The early stages were quite slow but things quickly picked up and we got some very nice exchanges. Both men looked great. Yoshi is still a great underdog and Sanada shows more emotion ever since his Okada match. I liked him beating Yoshi with the Dragon Sleeper into Moonsault combo that failed to beat Okada. ***1/2. Naito vs Taichi was very good. Taichi finally proved his worth to the NJPW fans, and I was not the least bit surprised. The guy was always very good in-ring wise (on top of being a great genuine heel too). He pulled off a lot of new stuff here and had fantastic chemistry with Naito. I loved both of them trying to out-heel each other only for Naito to prove himself to be the one true heel of NJPW. ***3/4. Suzuki vs Makabe was good, though a bit disappointing. Makabe isn't a great striker, but he had some good striking exchanges with Suzuki still. Some awkward chemistry due to Makabe at times. Result was never in question. Nice hard hitting match. ***1/4. Okada vs Ospreay lived up to the hype. It was awesome. Started with some great technical wrestling, slowly we see the ego of both men, and eventually both wrestlers are performing incredible exchanges and counters because they know each other so well. ****1/4 |

Taichi gegen Naito mit einer der besten Matches, in denen ich Taichi bislang gesehen haben. Makabe gegen Suzuki auch durch und solide und zum Abschluss ein richtig cooler Main Event. |
