109.12.2017PUNQ3.0Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano & Beretta & Chuckie T -vs- Raymond Rowe & Hanson & David Finley & Katsuya Kitamura [* 3/4], Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr. & El Desperado -vs- Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa & Leo Tonga [* 1/2], Hiroshi Tanahashi & Togi Makabe & Henare -vs- Michael Elgin & Jeff Cobb & Tomoyuki Oka [**] Big Oka. Hangman Page & Yujiro Takahashi -vs- Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima - (World Tag League 2017 - Block A) [* 1/2] Loved the part where Kojima screamed at Tenzan to kick-out, almost making him jump-scare his shoulders off the mat! Otherwise very ordinary action. "King of Darkness" EVIL & SANADA -vs- Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi - (World Tag League 2017 - Block A) [*] Dull. The veterans didn't have much to give this match. At least they weren't awarded for their lazy work. Minoru Suzuki & Takashi Iizuka -vs- Juice Robinson & Sami Callihan - (World Tag League 2017 - Block A) [* 1/4] Pretty standard, but imagine Sami Callihan and Takashi Iizuka fighting. That's worth something, isn't it? ! Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI -vs- Bad Luck Fale & Chase Owens - (World Tag League 2017 - Block A) [* 1/2] Wouldn't call it very interesting, but they worked hard enough to at least bring some life into this semi-dead show. Kazuchika Okada & Will Ospreay & Gedo -vs- Tetsuya Naito & BUSHI & Hiromu Takahashi [**] Happy moments. Okada went out looking like a king. So while the match wasn't anything special, it did send the fans home in a positive mood.
204.12.2017jboyaquar Toyohashi, Japan's largest import and export hub for automobiles (close to Toyota, ) and site of a professional Quidditch team {;o), }, is home to Night 11 of NJPW's Tag League. Tonight's tourney commences with TenCozy and B club wrestling a fast-paced, no rest-holds nor extended heat segments, if a tad soft contest. Kozy hit a nice lariat late on Page over the W ropes, but soon afterwards Page did his somersault -> clothesline on Kojima and clunky Yujiro hit a short-arm DDT for the victory. (2 1/4) Nakanishi sold his left knee and played face-in-peril t/out the majority of the first 2/3rds of his bout with LIdJ. I don't know if I would call the 3rd-Generation's "lazy" here, I mean MN did complete his 'beautiful' NE top-rope X-body/fall upon LIdJ, but Nagata wasn't called-upon to do much except sell for EVIL on the outside. MN ate the pin after double-teaming involving a chair and then the 'Magic Killer. ' (2) Newly crowned Observer Hall-of-Famer Suzuki disallowed Juice to do his ring-entrance pose leading to the expected brawl of which Juice got the worst of despite Minoru-san taking a nice front bump to the SE ringgguard. I know it's absurd of me to ask but why is Desperado not disqualified from ringside for his involvement? Sami played face-in-peril for a few, Juice got the hot tag and and DeathJuice went 'wild' (not the Soya-Omori sort though... no fur) on the heels for a couple. But in the craziness Iizuka snuck in (smoother-quicker than usual) with his metallic best friend, handed Juice in the throat, Suzuki Gotch piledriver, and that's all. (2 1/4) I wonder if the native fan knows of the 'Cease-and-Desist' re: his 'Too Sweet' chant during the opening moments of the final Tag League bout. CHAOS featured some tag-team-tandem offense on Chase but to-be-honest, it didn't look that great; (Those two have had a poor '17. ) I agree with 'PUNQ, ' the effort was there but I wasn't that interested.
