„I’m better than the first match! Lee und Riddle musste natürlich was werdem.

[7.0] "Though I miss Ybor City, considering the '17 schedule Le Boom has, for all intents & purposes, become Evolve's homebase. It's NYC, the #1 market and as such gets many of the promotion's quarterly marquee match-ups. For the final time for awhile, both of Evolve's singles title will be defended on this show. ZSJ is a well-cast assertive, body-controlling champ and although Jaka didn't throw a ton of interesting moves, the rhythm of their aggression wept the crowd into a modest frenzy making this the first singles contest I've seen of Jaka that he broke from the realm of 'good, ' and approached 'great. ' As a whole the match wasn't close to 4 stars, I had it at 3 1/3 -3 1/2, but one of the many rewards in being a hardcore over a casual fan, is being able to pinpoint the moment a grander potential of a competitor has openly been revealed. He's not there yet, but Jaka may be the breakout member of Team Pazuzu. Riddle/Lee didn't feature much selling but unlike most K Lee affair, he was serious t/out. I particularly enjoyed the ending, not Riddle's flat bicycle knee, but KL' well-placed headbutt and the believability of each man's collapse. I also liked how the match ended a many begin, w/ two men squaring-off mid-ring. KL got in the last shot, but Riddle won. Cool 3 2/3. omething I wasn't a fan of was Trent/Austin, as the objective of the match, getting over Theory's perseverance via kicking-out of what hould be, in today's Evolve wrestling culture finishing manuevers, and then going on his own rampage, clashed w/ the flippancy of which Trent has these sorts of matches all-the-time on most indies he works for. Elsewhere, T Thatcher's facials/German influence & memories of his ridiculously long title reign continue to get him easy heat, ACH's humbling and eventual heel turn are being well-laid out, L Leonard did not put-over Dickinson's impressive deadlifting backplex as he was too busy proclaiming Yehi (3 star match) the WWN' '17 MVP. Maybe he is. Overall a 6. 75"

Trotzdem eine gute Show."

[9.0] "ACH vs Hot Sauce was a nice back and forth opener (***1/4). Thatcher vs Kincaid was the best heel performance by Tim since he lost his title in terms of being a total dick and making Jason's offense look even better than usual (***3/4). Yehi vs Dickinson had a lot of really good physical sequences, but what should've been a sprint was paced out much longer and that held it back (***1/2). Jaka vs ZSJ was meant to show off Jaka, and it did so with his strikes and offense (such as those headbutts to the chest) being awesome, while Zack was able to match that intensity even though his selling was poor (***3/4). Thatcher's promo and beatdown was great, except Zack selling his headbutt in a silly way. Page made Sharp look really bad in the latter's first real test as a singles guy in EVOLVE; a dull match that lowered Sharp's burgeoning stock (*1/2). Trent? has been on a tear this year and pulled a really good performance out of young Theory that got the crowd going (***3/4). Keith vs Riddle was a very explicit main event-style back-and-forth match with a ton of good reversals and physicality, and it was awesome, but the finish really blew me away; a good strike exchange leads to the knee strike Riddle established recently as a finish in PROGRESS, but Keith hits a huge headbutt on the rebound before they both collapse with Matt being in position for the cover; I adored this finish as a way to protect both guys and it bumped my rating by itself (****1/2). A much stronger show than 86 with 4 very good matches and a tremendous main event."

[8.0] "ACH/Hot Sauce was a good opener - flowed well (***), Kincaid/Thatcher was another awesome performance by Thatcher much like in his match vs. Theory the previous night - Kincaid looked the best he has so far in EVOLVE too (***3/4), Dickinson/Yehi was good, some nice, physical action, it did went on a tad bit too long, but it was still very enjoyable (***), ZSJ/Jaka was built around Jaka proving that he can hang & he sure proved that here - really good match, intense from start to finish (***3/4), Page/Sharp was super dull (*), Theory/Trent was really good - great seeing Trent back in EVOLVE & his string of impressive performances continued with this match (***1/2), Riddle & Keith Lee had a great match at Beyond the day before & this main event was like an epic version of that - an absolutely fantastic match between two of the best in the world (****1/2). Overall EVOLVE 87 was a super strong show - some awesome matches & the non-match angles in Thatcher attacking people & the Priscilla Kelly deal were done super well."
