126.05.2021XXDoubleHHXX8.0Everything leading up to the main event was perfect, you had a fun aerial assault match that got the crowd hyped, you had fantastic title matches with Strickland proving his worth as the new face of CZW and MJF being the biggest heel in the company. We had also fun comedy in Tim Donst, hardcore brawling with japanese legends and the match of the night Lio Rush vs Janela. This all lead to a medicore main event that ruined the feeling of the show.
202.04.2020Wrestling Forever 6.0Langer Opener ohne Sinn und keiner checkte was das ist aber solide (**1/4). CZW Wired Title Match solide (**1/4). Three Way Tag Team Match solide (**1/4). Ace wurde gesquasht und das von Tim nun Ace war da noch Grün aber DUD. CZW World Heavyweight Title Match (**1/4) auch solide.
330.01.2020Paul Allain5.0The opener had action, but felt too bloated and scattered to be truly good or fet somebody over. MJF/Silver had supreme efforts from Silver, but lacked a spark when MJF controlled with boring wrestling, almost good. The Triple Threat Tag Team Match made little sense and felt again too scattered to be interesting. Ace/Donst is a serviceable midcard match that kept momentum for Donst. Strickland/Masada legitimize the champion as tough and dangerous, in addition to being a damn good match itself. Joe Gacy's angle is an admittion that his main event push was a failure, and maybe he will be better as an anarchist heel. Janela/Rush you either love or hate, as it is excessive ion all aspects and kills disbelief, personally I was entertained and call it comfortably the best match of their interminable series, a good sendoff for the meteoric tenure of Lio Rush. Tremont/Onita never appealed to me, but the bait-and-switch was simply insulting to the crowd, making for a lamer main event that still had violence , but not nearly the promised epic event, instead building for a rematch in another promotion, cheating the fans of CZW. The undercard underachieved and the main event was an abomination, but it must be recognized that an entertaining, albeit atypical, streak of good quirky wrestling wrestling marked the middle of the show, with Donst/Austin, Masada/Strickland and Janela/Rush all providing an unique approach to their match and providing me much enjoyment, making for an uneven card that feels average but definitively unachieved.

721.09.2017PUNQ5.0An intriguing CZW show. I couldn’t resist seeing old Atsushi Onita doing his trashy thing in the US, and besides that curio, most of the other matches were quite good even if there were “indy issues” with them. Atsushi Onita -vs- Matthew Tremont – (No Ropes Barbed Wire Exploding Baseball Bats Match) [*] Was this ever going to be pretty? ! HELL NO! But it’s legendary Atsushi Onita’s first time wrestling in the US since 1992, in what must be a boyhood dream for Tremont and the CZW promotion itself! Call it a hardcore tribute, for that’s what it really is when 59 year old Onita does his FMW thing these days. Pure ugly chaos with the explosion of the baseball bat being off and not a wrestling move in sight. And naturally his guys invaded. So did Tremont’s guys, which changed the match to a 6-man tag where the ugly chaos continued. Lio Rush -vs- Joey Janela [***] Lio Rush trying to say farewell in a epic way before going off to WWE. He had a “emotional” match with Janela, who didn’t impress, nor did I believe in. So this was all a 33-min Rush job. Looking past that ridiculous no-sell moment, this was fairly good. Rush definitely has talent, if only he can work smarter with that passion of his, not just recklessly outrageous. Aerial Assault Match [** 3/4] A messed up finish, ruined a otherwise action-packed match. But this was a indy trash spectacular, so the trouble at the end was only fitting in this environment.
827.08.2017Reptilian8.0This was a spectacle and CZW deserves credit for getting Onita in to US for one last time. Shane Strickland vs. MASADA ***¼ and Joey Janela vs. Lio Rush ***¼-***½ were good upper card matches that could have main evented any other CZW show. Lio Rush no selling/"hulking up" after the powerbomb was bit too much and kinda killed the momentum, but it wasn´t that big of a deal as some people made it out to be and overall the match was good. Apparently the city of New Jersey doesn´t allow FMW type explosions that Onita is so used to. Onita was Onita once again and made hes demands and the ME turned in to a six man tag. The exploding baseball bats filled the void a little and made a nice highlight for the show. Still the match had a very special atmosphere and Onita put on a show.

1107.08.2017ianhates7.0Aerial Assault match ***1/4 Maxwell Jacob Feinstein vs John Silver *** Hideki Hosaka & Raijin Yaguchi vs The Awakening vs The Storm of Entrails *** Ace Austin Shakespeare vs Tim Donst * Shane Strickland vs Masada ***1/4 Lio Rush vs Joey Janela *** Danny Havoc, Matt Tremont, & Rickey Shane Page vs Atsushi Onita, Hideki Hosaka, & Raijin Yaguchi ***1/4 Aerial Assault match was a great opener with lots of cool moments, though slightly marred by an unsmooth finish. 3 way tag was a highlight of the show as well with lots of brawling and weapons. I love Tim Donst's obsession with the number 2 and wanted to give his match a full ** but it was just too short at 2:22. Strickland vs MASADA started slow but picked up down the stretch. Janela vs Lio Rush was good but would have been better without Lio Rush no-selling the big ladder spot. Between Lio's painfully slow ring entrance, his match, and his and farewell speech after the match, I felt like I had seen more than enough Lio Rush for one evening. Main event was exactly what I expected from an Onita match and the crowd was into it. A fun main event to end a good show.
