222.03.2024jjcharg771.0I try to rank old shows on if the crowd enjoys it and on the rewatchablity. at most George Steele/ Macho Man match and Jack Roberts/ George Wells nut even those are just filler matches that aren't that good and are extremely short. not a fan of the boxing match either. there seemed to be weird undertones

624.02.2024VileVirgil2.0A terrible start to Wrestlemania 2. The best match was Savage vs Steele and it wasn't even that great. One okay match with three boring stinkers. 2/10

2001.11.2023TrailsOfPersona3.0The first part of Wrestlemania 2 doesn't kick it off well. All in all, it's probably the worst part of the event, but part 2 is barely much better. The boxing match is incredibly boring, and all of the other matches are either equally boring, or have bad finishes. I think Jake's match gets his character over very well, but it's s squash match at Wrestlemania of all events. And I don't think a double countout is exactly a confident way to start off such a huge show. For what it's worth, I think Susan St. James is EASILY the best of the 'guest commentators' for Wrestlemania 2. She's far from an expert, but she actually has some insightful things to say as an outsider. She's worlds better from Cathy Lee in part 2, who barely seems to be there, and Elvira in part 3 who adds nothing but annoyance.

2509.09.2023Wieczus2.0The worst part of the second WrestleMania. There was basically no good match, as even when you had one tallented guy his opponent was quite the opposite. Orndorff vs Muraco was a lazy count out finish, Roberts had a squash match against Wells and Savage had to put up with Steele's awful stuff. The main event was a horrible idea and it had no right to work at all. Poor Uniondale got the worst things on their plate.
2620.08.2023Itayboi1.0One of the bigest wastes of time in humen history, that is the only way i can describe the new york portion of mania 2. The opener is not the worst but the finish rightfully got bulshit chants (bulshit chants in 86 btw) . Savge vs the animal was a mistake amd a waste of one of the best ever by puting him with a man who just can not work to save his life. The jacke roberts match was booked backwards with the no name jober kiling jake untill jake wcws (as in gose out of the ring and atckes his aoponent when they get back in) the jober and hits the DDT making him look like a loser, but the after ware cool. And the main event was worked boxing done badly . Also the coumentry on this show was real bad. At least this is as low as it gose
2705.08.2023Hitman262.0The first part of Wrestlemania 2 was dead pretty much. The show starts with Paul Orndorff fighting Muraco which is too short and it ends in a double count out. Then after that Randy Savage wrestled George Steele who is a funny character but his wrestling skills aren't so good. So this match was more of a comedy to be honest. After that there is a squash match including Jake Roberts so nothing to comment on that really. And then the main event a boxing match of Piper and Mr. T this was soooo slow and boring. Despite being a historical ppv I wouldn't recommend watching the first part.

3122.07.2023celticinvader2.0This New York portion of Wrestlemania 2 was pretty terrible. One good storyline to a very poor main event, and a series of filler matches with talent who deserved better.
3220.07.2023Rjepic12.0WrestleMania 2 is not that good of a show. I gave the show as a whole a 4 but I will give separate ratings for each Halle for Cagematch. Halle 1 (New York) gets a solid two, Halle 2 (Chicago) a 3, and Halle 3 a five. There's like two, maybe three matches I remember fondly from this show as a whole.
New York konnte man also leider komplett vergessen, was mich dazu bringt 0 Punkte zu geben.

3728.05.2023CMFunk0072.0April 1986, I was 11 years old and my best friend came over on a Monday night to watch the big Wrestlemania 2 card in which Hulk Hogan and King Kong Bundy would fight inside a steel cage. The WWF decided to split the card up between 3 different venues, which I feel would have been a rip off if I had attended live. This first section, in New York, was the worst of the trilogy. As a kid, I loved Mr. T and would have loved to have seen him in person, which I did in 194 when I attended Starrcade 1994, but him in a boxing match trying to emulate his Clubber Lang role was never good. Orndorff and Muraco had a quick match that went nowhere. George Steele and Randy Savage continued their neverending feud with Savage getting another victory over him in a bad match. And Jake Roberts squashed George Wells. I used to watch Wrestlemania 2 on a loop, mostly due to not having a vast library of wrestling back then. This beginning card was terrible.

4201.05.2023DanTalksRasslin1.0The first (New York) part of WrestleMania 2 was very much a dud, and an early indicator that the three-venue experiment just wasn't going to work out. We get a short double countout from Orndorff and Muraco, a passable but short IC Title match from Savage and Steele, a decent (but short) semi-squash from Roberts and Wells, and the disastrous Piper-Mr. T "boxing" match, all totaling less than 23 minutes of in-ring action. Honestly, the best part of this was the prospect of hearing Ray Charles sing, and they couldn't even get the PA system working for most of that. Imagine driving out to Long Island for this.

4601.04.2023crs2853.0Commentary was pretty bad as was the openers ending. I enjoyed Savage vs Steele but wrestling wise it was not good. Roberts and wells was an average squash match. Piper and Mr T was not that good as their personalities barely showed in the ring except during the breaks.
4722.03.2023lukerocker92.0New York got the short end of the stick with this card. The opening match got the crowd chating Bullshit which is always a great sign. Savage/Steele was watchable but it doesn't feel like a PPV title match at all. Roberts vs Wells is a decent squash and the best out of the four bouts on this section, but once again it doesn't belong on this card. And to top it all off they got one of the worst Wrestlemania matches in history. Such a waste of talented wrestlers. At least it didn't last that long

4920.03.2023Matthew23claw4.0I thought this was bearable and actually slightly more entertaining then the first few matches at WrestleMania 1 at least in terms of characters with Macho Man and Jake Roberts making there Mania debuts, Macho Man vs Steele had some fun moments including a surprising elbow drop kick out, Jake Roberts attack with the snake was extra brutal here as well and actually quite terrifying. The boxing match started off okay with a big fight feel and ending terribly. In terms of everything non wrestling related Ray Charles performance was definitely one of the better and more iconic ones, still holds up and what does not hold up is the commentary god awful. 4/10.

5813.02.2023AG323.0Yeah the first hour of this Wrestlemania is pretty awful. Book ending with a countout and DQ is a choice but the IC title match and Jake Roberts match were decent. If anything, the absurd and ridiculous booking made it somehow entertaining
5910.02.2023KingsCrossing1.0The first hour of WrestleMania 2 is not good at all. The opener is a joke - that finish was a horrible way to kick off any PPV let alone WrestleMania. The Intercontinental Title match is decent for some light entertainment but doesn't belong on WrestleMania. I didn't mind Roberts vs Wells, and as somebody unfamiliar with George Wells work I thought he looked like he had some potential, but once again, this simply did not belong at WrestleMania. The 'boxing' match was just flat out boring. Also worthy of mention is that the commentary is horrible - Susan St James sounds incredibly fake and clearly couldn't care less, and I don't think there are many people out there that would be surprised to hear that Vince's commentary was poor. If something similar was on a weekly televised event then I would give a more generous rating, but even for an early WrestleMania I don't think this warrants a passing grade in isolation from the other two parts of the show. Nothing here is really worth watching outside of an interest in pro wrestling history.

6230.11.2022Der Galische Krieger4.0Not the greatest of PPV's not sure was this popular at the time looking back it could of easily been the death of Wrestlemania. Orndorff vs Muraco run of the mill 4*, followed by a poor enough match with Savage vs Steele. Roberts sold like a hero vs Wells but just another run of the mill match 4*. The finale not great at all, Piper kept it fun and outrageous. Overall with even the great atmosphere 3.5*

6920.08.2022weredet431.0The first part of Wrestlemania 2 turned out to be the weakest. The opening bout could have been better, it could have been given more time, but as it was, it started off interesting and ended terribly. The reaction of the audience was proof of that. The match for the Intercontinental title, which I didn't like. Despite the storytelling, which towards the middle I didn't care about, good acting by George Steele, which bored me towards the end, the only thing I can personally stand out is Randy Savage's performance. Then squash, what can I say, apparently I've turned on some weekly show. If it was any edition of Superstars or WWF ALL-Star Wrestling, I wouldn't even complain. Main Event, a boxing match on the main show of the year, I think that says it all. Pity those who bought tickets for that part of the show.
7024.06.2022TigerDiver3.0I've seen far worse, but this was still a horrendous start to the show. Orndorff/Muraco was just getting started when it ended, the boxing match was a complete and utter mess, Jake's was a squash, and while Savage/Steele was fun in some ways, Savage had way better stuff than this that can be found elsewhere.

8312.11.2021Mahrsbars3.0Why did they bother to split up Mania 2, that's stupid. I'm one of the only fucking idiots who actually likes Roddy and Mr. T in the boxing match. In fact, it might be the only thing I don't hate on this show. Besides that, this whole show sucks. In the case of the Long Island portion (my place of residence! ), Savage vs Steele was stupid, dumb and lame. Jake squashing a jobber is cool, but on Mania' Get outta here. Orndorff and Muraco' Could be good. Too bad it went 4 minutes to a fuck finish. God I hate this show.

8716.08.2021denierstragedies4.0Wrestlemania II is in a weird position. Being between the first ever Mania and another incredibly iconic show in Wrestlemania III, it was always going to be tough to live up, but the additional gimmick of emanating from three different cities definitely didn't help in retrospect. Focusing on the first third of the show here, there are some really enjoyable moments but nothing amazing, and it must be said that the last match really hurts the overall show. Being a worked boxing match on a wrestling show it was always going to feel a little out of place anyway (I don't think many people are going into a wrestling show for boxing) but it's a very slow plodding affair with a whole lot of nothing going on. There are some decent moments here but they are few and far between and not part of the boxing; Orton throwing a big bucket of water over Mr. T and Piper chucking the stool across the ring are some nice highlights. The other matches are quite enjoyable really, Roberts getting his first showing on PPV and as always a unique character, Savage putting up a somewhat-entertaining affair against Steele with some fun tactics such as crawling under the ring to surprise his opponent, and the opening being a solid contest with what seems like a very over Orndorff. Overall a solid third here but not without its downsides - mostly the closer. Match Ratings: Paul Orndorff vs. Don Muraco - 5/10, Randy Savage vs. George Steele - 5/10, Jake Roberts vs. George Wells - 5/10, Roddy Piper vs. Mr T. - 2/10.

9223.12.2020Strong Zero Machine3.0
9321.12.2020Bhandu3.0Just commenting on these four matches, the rating however is for the overall show. Uniondale certainly got screwed over by WWF here. A random opener with two wrestlers that deserved so much better, that ends in a double count out after a mere 4 minutes, a Jake Roberts squash, Randy Savage defends the IC title against George Steele and finally a boxing mach that is badly worked and completely exposes Mr. T (who is out of breath before even reaching the ring). Only highlights were whenever Piper was near a microphone. This part of the show would get a 1/10 rating, out of love for Roddy Piper only.
9418.11.2020JokerDeSilva1.0Wrestlemania I has historical importance, weight, and sheer spectacle to drag it up to a whole that is far more than the sum of its parts. Wrestlemania II has little such excuse. The Nassau Coliseum portion is especially rough, though really, all of them are. A double-count out that gets bullshit chants in the 80s is a bad start, and while the Randy Savage/Steele match is a fun piece of character and comedy, it's a pretty subpar match. From there we get a glorified squash in Jake Robets, and a truly dismal, embarrassing worked boxing match as the main event. There is nothing at all worth watching here. Give it a miss.
9519.10.2020jajt19894.0Wasn't that bad i believe but Orndorff v Muraco could of been so much better, Steele v Savage was ok and Wells v Roberts was just a squash so no point even it being on the card and Mr T v Piper is hard to rate because it wasn't great but it wasn't that bad either.
9608.09.2020cmpunk5.0This rating would be for the combined event of Wrestlemania Ii. Only one actual match worth watching and a couple of decent ones including the main event. Had too much non-fights either through the short amount of time or the absolute cartoonish nature of the fights which lead to the quality of matches being down.
9726.06.2020UnderTakerFreak0.0If I have to rate this WrestleMania as a whole, it would be a 1 or a 2 but I am going to give it a big 0 as this portion had nothing to it, not even Randy Savage, Jake Roberts and Roddy Piper could save it! A double count out, 2 less than inadequate matches and a boxing match in a WRESTLING show ending in DQ and was really just a chore to go through. I feel bad for the ones that brought tickets for this portion to not even get a full live show but their portion was the absolute worse.
9818.06.2020Depe1.0
9916.05.2020btcaunce2.0The opening match had a horrible ending. The match wasn? t that great either. 3/4* The Intercontinental Title match was next. Boring match, especially given what a roll Savage was on. I would have much rather seen Tito get his rematch. *1/4 Jake Roberts faced George Wells in the third match of the evening. Wells looks kind of like a pudgy Bobby Lashley. He doesn? t put up much of a fight and gets finished by the DDT at 3:04. Jake introduces Damien after the match. * The Boxing Match is the main event of this part of the show. Piper gets frustrated in Round Four and slams Mr. T for the disqualification. The entourages get involved and separates them. Mr. T wins by DQ as the crowd boos the finish (10:15). Fairly entertaining. They should just start fixing real boxing matches? oh, wait a minute. **
10003.05.2020user2204020.0Paul Orndorff vs Muraco (3/4*), Randy Savage vs George Steele (DUD), Jake Roberts vs George Wells (*1/2), Mr. T vs Roddy Piper (-****), Overall (-1. 09/10). Really bad first part. Orndorff/Muraco was really boring and had a lame finish, Savage/Steele was really bad, Roberts/Wells was only a jobber match and the main event was horrible. Why would anyone want to see a boxing match between an actor and a wrestler? Other than that, the commentary by Susan St. James was one of the worst ever.
