[6.0] "A real fun evening mashing New Japan and ROH in the American promotion’s atmosphere. I’m still learning and adjusting to myself to American indys, but being a fan of Japanese wrestling, this combined both worlds in a satisfying way. Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson (c) -vs- Tetsuya Naito & BUSHI – (ROH Tag Title) [*** 1/2] Screw their highflying. It’s their cocky attitude showing off that counts. A fun one, for sure, though didn’t utilize Naito enough after that cool entrance kicking the belt like a football all the way to the ring! Still, the Young Bucks were on form prick-flying their way through for what I felt was the best match on the show. Will Ospreay -vs- Jay White [*** 1/4] Two sides to this. For one: Overly fancy stuff and some pathetic excuse for offence. No, I prefer how Ospreay fight in Japan. Here he was close to ridiculous. Tone it down and wrestle like a man, not a kid looking for attention. On the other hand: Him and White came up with some surprising stuff, and it was spectacular. I was appreciating their enthusiasm, I’ll give them that. The crowd was hot for it too. More than for any other match on the show. Hiroshi Tanahashi -vs- Adam Cole [***] Good, Tanahashi special with a pinch of Cole…. baby! Little we haven’t seen before, but they worked a real fine match for the ROH fans regardless of Tanahashi looking leagues above Cole. Christopher Daniels (c) -vs- Cody -vs- Jay Lethal – (ROH Title) [** 3/4]"

[8.0] "Overall an entertaining show with no bad matches and most matches being very good . Only one stand out match and that one being a bit of a surprise . If you can swallow them hitting devastating moves and getting up to hit more devastating moves within seconds the White vs, Ospreay match was great . Every one on the show worked hard . The announcing was bad but that is to be expected . But it really strains the bounds of beleivabilty to state that Cole is in any way the on the same level with Tanahashi . I wish companies would get over the multiple competitor singles mathes and the multiple team tag matches , especially for titles . They kill credibility and almost never makes a match better . Matches worth watching: all of them and my top match was Jay White vs. Will Ospreay ."

Three Way Tag war recht ansehnlich ***.

[8.0] "Marty Scurll joining the Bullet Club was an amazing moment along of course with the firing of possibly NXT bound Adam Cole. But the matches itself were quite good, with Will Ospreay and Jay White putting on a belting mid-card match. The Young Bucks showed their talent again when they put on a good match. The Young Bucks vs. BUSHI & Naito was another excellent match and every other match (besides Page vs. Kaz) took nothing away from the show, to me, a man who at that point was not too familiar with more than a few NJPW wrestlers; it was a great introduction showcase and nobody really besides Matt Sydal came out of it looking poorly. Overall a damn good show!"

[6.0] "The Hammerstein is an exceptional building to take-in a wrestling show and it's unfortunate I've seen but a solitary show there, J Briscoe defeating K Steen for the title. Tonight's M Event showdown wasn't nearly as over b/c CD is a poor face champ, and Cody is an exceptionally medicore in-ring talent whose timing/body-placement was off enough that it appeared CD/Lethal tweaked their knee in trying to work with Mr. Overhype. Yet the building sold-out quicker than any other previous ROH events. Chalk that up to the promise of NJPW superstars and the continuing success of the Young Bucks. Yet I didn't depart the show feeling excited about the future. What most amused me about this gig was observing how the current American indie wrestling culture juxtaposes itself with NJPW culture. For example, in NJPW everyone must have an alliance; no one man is an island. So 'the Villain' cannot build his own head-of-steam, he's foreign & iconoclastic and thus must be B Club. Ospreay has amazing fighting spirit; he fits in w/ Okada-Goto-Ishii in today's CHAOS. American wrestling culture allows for bigger but undeserving names to take higher spots on the card than they would be allowed in Japan b/c there it's dishonourable for a company to put forth a talent on a higher plane than he/she deserves w/out a deliberate build. So Cody's a lower mid-carder there, but Main-eventing NYC shows in ROH. Yet I wasn't enraged b/c I liked the booking of CD/Cody in Toronto-NYC. Anyway, of tonight's matches Ospreay would get my MVP as not only did he bump mad-hard for JW, but his finishing stretch was believable & sharp. I thought JW looked polished and intent; this past week is far more how he should have been booked when he first went on his excursion... putting forth a top effort while losing to the mid/upper carders. A Cole worked hard but he's now an average in-ring worker and thus perfect for the Roode era of NXT. More when the Recommended's start popping-up. 5. 75"

[8.0] "Overall the show was really good. Perhaps one of the better this year. It has surpassed my expectations. The best point is White's fight with Ospreay and what happened after Tanahashi's fight with Cole. Weak points I did not see. I would recommend anyone who loves wrestling and anyone who would like to love him because the show was wonderful. A nice jump for those who spend most of their time at WWE, which is not that great. 8. 75 / 10"

He went toe to toe with one of the best high flyers in the world and produced an absolute fantastic wrestling match(****1/2). Rest of the matches were all enjoyble. Nothing else to say."

[6.0] "Good opener (**3/4), Page vs Kazarian was decent (**), Three Way Machine was really fun (***), Ospreay vs White was just awesome, MUST SEE match (****1/4), ROH Six Man Tag was a fun brawl, i enjoyed (***), Scurll vs Sydal was bad, no sense of urgency, just spot after spot (*3/4), Bucks vs Bushi & Naito was a fun spotfest, the stupid ref bump don't hurt the match for me (***), Tanahashi vs Cole was average at best, Cole work was not good and Tanahashi doesn't care about this match (**), Main event was disappointing (**). This show starts good, but the last two matches was really disappointing to see. Ospreay vs White is MUST-SEE, the rest was just average."

[7.0] "Opener: **1/2. Way too much going on. Would have been much better as a singles. Page/Kazarian: *1/4. This was a nothing match. At least it wasn't long. Triple Threat tag match: **3/4. Not a fan of War Machines new music. Sounds like generic WWE music. This was worked like a New Japan match. Crowd really didn't have any energy. Gresham and Sabin did not need to be in this match. Ospreay/White: ****. So happy they got the time to have a great match. You can't put the title on Ospreay, but at this point he should be in main events. 6 Man Title match: ***1/2. Very Happy we got plenty of interaction between Hirooki Goto & Bubba Ray Dudley, which is not something I thought I would ever see. Lots of spots, lots of chair shots. Tv Title match: ***1/2. Very good, but maybe this could have been better. Away Sydal goes. Tag Title match: ***3/4. Crowd was hot throughout. Good stuff. Cole/Tanahashi: ***3/4. Very good. Not great. A little too much playing around. Bye bye Cole it seems. Main Event: ***1/4. Crowd really didn't care. They were respectful, but not really interested. They saw who they paid to see already. As dead of a crowd for a Main Event World Title match as I can remember. Also the weakest ROH World title match on ppv that I can remember, excluding the Lethal vs Cabana debacle from last year. Finish was interesting. We'll see where they go from here. Show was alright."

[8.0] "Another very nice PPV from ROH, which seems to be the trend despite wavering interest in their product. The 4-Way was really well-paced for a 4-Way of its length, with everybody getting to shine and Castle getting the rightful win by pinning the right guy; perfect opener (***1/2). Page/Kaz has had a build to it, but it was incredibly basic despite that, barring a couple cool dives, and obviously meant to extend the angle (**1/4). 3-Way tag was another really nice, well-paced match with Sabin as the veteran and the other 5 being fantastic young talents; Gresham did his best to impress on his first PPV outing while LIJ & War Machine did their thing well, and I personally probably enjoyed it a bit more than others since I love pretty much everybody in the match (***1/2). Ospreay vs White was MOTN; about as good of a crazy back-and-forth as you can get without much story to it, and some spots I'll be remembering for a while; White's best match of the year so far and close to Ospreay's best (****1/4). Briscoes & Bully vs CHAOS was actually really good, I loved the absolutely dirty vibe they had with all the chairs being thrown and brawling that looked sloppy and drag-out in a good, intended way; Deathmatch Legend Shitty Greg was a star as usual (***3/4). Scurll vs Sydal really under-performed; the crowd was really into the heel so it was already off, but the crowd mostly didn't pop for anything other than Marty's spots and the match didn't elevate beyond some spots (**1/2). Bucks vs LIJ was a really fun tag, good balance between Bucks cliches and LIJ antics; Naito looked like a legend (***1/2). I didn't care about Cole/Tana because it was a Cole match, but the crowd cared and there were some neat character interactions (**3/4-***). The main event died because the crowd loved Cody and not the 2 faces; a bunch of 3-Way spots happened that were just solid, but from Daniels going through the table until the finish it got HOT, barring an anticlimax finish (***)."

[7.0] "A very good, nearly great show. The 4-Corner Survival match was fine. Nice chemistry. Kushida stood out. ***. Kazarian vs Page was an alright heated brawl. The crowd wasn't interested until near the end, sadly. **3/4. The 3-way Tag Team match was quite good. LIJ's tactics and shenanigans were very entertaining, Gresham and Sabin's high flying and speed was exciting, and War Machine's power displays were great. All 3 teams offered something unique. ***1/4. White vs Ospreay was a genuine US MOTY contender. Amazing chemistry, spots, technique, impact, aggression, near-falls, uniqueness, etc. A star-making performance from White. ****1/4-****1/2. The ROH 6-man Tag Team Title match was very good. Crowd was very hyped. The no DQ stipulation added a lot, with many nice chair shots and brawling sequences. The Briscoes were very energetic and RPG's teamwork was dynamic. Goto looked a bit out of place. ***1/2. Scurll vs Sydal had great character work from The Villain. His limb-working was good too. Sydal's high flying was great. ***1/2. The Young Bucks vs Naito & Bushi had fun Naito character work and good spotfest moments from all 4 wrestlers. Lots of great finish teases. ***3/4. Cole vs Tanahashi had very good character work and crowd-investment. ***1/2. Scurll joining the Bullet Club was a great surprise. Daniels vs Cody vs Lethal was solid, but dull and occasionally messy, at least until the dramatic and surprising finish. ***1/4. This show's 2nd half is all worth checking out."

[7.0] "The four corner survival match was meh, KUSHIDA did get some solid stuff in & that was pretty enjoyable, but overall very dull match (*3/4), Kazarian/Page started & ended well, the stuff in the middle wasn't very interesting though (*1/2), the 3-way tag was OK, Gresham was the MVP definitely (**), White/Ospreay was a really good sprint that ended just at the perfect time (***1/2), Bully & The Briscoes vs. CHAOS was really awesome; just a wild, fun brawl (***3/4), Scurll/Sydal was dull as expected - worst match of the night (*), Bucks vs. LIJ was really fun (***1/2), Cole/Tanahashi was fantastic, much better than I expected it to be - MOTN (****), Daniels/Cody/Lethal was solid, yet super forgettable main event (**1/2). Overall the show was strong - couple of really good to great matches & nothing completely awful outside of Marty/Sydal."
