106.03.2024Burning V Sternness7.0This show had a lot of good wrestling, but the crowd sat on their hands for long periods despite this, which left the event feeling kind of flat even though the in-ring aspect was one of the best WCW shows all year in that regard. Things went south somewhat during the Hogan portion of the show, with the Main Event not really being capable of kicking it back up once that section was over with. Still though, terrible crowd aside, theres a lot of good wrestling on this show and, by 1998 WCW standards, its pretty darn good. Recommended Show (but maybe shut it off following the Goldberg match)
210.01.2024Tasmo124.0WCW/nWo The Great American Bash ends up yet again back to the underwhelming formula from WCW and when I thought things were getting better in WCW with Slamboree last month and then they gave us this. It's very mixed and their are good matches but the BAD really weighs out the good. WCW was starting to get more and more holes as people became more and more critical of the product. [**1/4]

923.08.2022Giantfan19807.0you got FIVE matches on this show that are 6 stars or better, so it's a no brainer to check out. Just be aware that everything with the nWo blows donkey balls as usual. I would have gone 8 stars, but the bad stuff holds it down.
1012.06.2022Derek Joists4.0The usual card of two halves from this era, with the undercard being pretty good but the top half pretty abysmal. The absolute low point was a sub-2 minute squash match for the World Title somewhere in the mid card, and as usual just about everything the NWO touched was poor. The only reason to watch this show is to see the end of the Booker/Benoit series, and that's the first match...
1118.03.20225nicoShuffle6.0Fairly solid but unspectacular show with plenty of good matches, but lacked a real killer match also. Drinking game for when someone picks up/uses a Steel Chair. [1st match] Great opener & finish, which came very suddenly. *** [2nd match] Probably MOTN for me. Saturn has been having some great matches, and this is another. Cool moves by both guys, especially Kanyon's corner Rocker Dropper. The Flock of course have to ruin things though. ***1/4 [3rd match] Another good contest, although Jericho was a little too comedic. Finish ruined it however, especially since it was for a Title. *** [4th match] Bad, finish very sloppy. Reese showed some agility and little else. Very sultry Juvi vignette preceding this match also. * [5th match] FrankenChavo is unleashed! match is a little less-fluid to matches earlier on the show, but still good. Chavo & Eddie certainly didn't go easy on eachother either. **3/4 [6th match] slow paced and methodical, with some rough moments. **1/2 [7th match] Squash match. DUD [8th match] Dull. Hogan & Piper do far too much work, which is a recipe for disaster. *1/2 [9th match] Starts immediately after the Tag match... and ends almost immediately too. DUD [Main] Quite an explosive match. Short but good, not sure why this was the Main though? ** An entirely skippable PPV with too much nWo inner fighting storylines that are so tiring by this point.

1422.05.2021AnB7.0There's a couple of big blunders here. The main event(s) were awful, and Reese is one of the worst wrestlers in a PPV ever. All matches, except the four final matches and the one with Juvi and Reese, were excellent though. My main gripe with the undercard matches is that I don't like it when someone does double duty in a match, like with Booker T. Finlay looked great, but the fact that he loses to a battered and bruiesd Booker T makes him look weaker.
1523.03.2021Makai Club 7.0The show was really good at times. The matches that involved Booker T with Benoit and Fit Finlay were excellent. The Guerreros match was really good with a good story. Malenko/Jericho was also story focused with less actual wrestling behind it. The main events seemed terrible but they were actually okay matches and not too long to the point where they waste your time. Skip the Kanyon/Saturn and Juvi/Reese matches and you? ll be good.

Genug davon hatte man doch. (o. W. ) 8. (1*) 9. Piper gegen Savage. (o. W. ) 10. ME war dann schlecht. No Go, da doch viele Kiddies zusehen.
2720.08.2017Mizzle Assault Ant6.0As usual in this era of WCW, a really good undercard is undercut by lousy main events. The show peaks at the start with a fantastic Benoit/Booker match to round off their famous series, and Saturn/Kanyon is a pretty great follow up, though it gets a bit muddled at the end. Jericho/Dean is a good match but it's really Jericho's character that puts it above and beyond. I love the ending when he literally flees all the way across the street into another building. Juvi/Reese is a passable big man/little man spectable, and Chavo/Eddie is a great intense match, though the crowd for some reason doesn't seem to appreciate it. Finlay/Booker is another great one, Booker has a hell of a resume in '98. Goldberg/Konnan is just a squash but that's fine, the crowd is insane for Goldberg. Here's where the vent takes a terrible downturn. The Savage/Piper vs. Bret/Hogan tag match is a snoozefest with the Disciple blatantly interfering for some reason, and the follow up Savage/Piper match is pretty stupid as well. In the end Savage taps out twice in a row, which makes him basically look like complete crap without anyone else actually looking any better. Sting/Giant is very insubstantial, Giant has a couple good moves but you'll probably forget all about it as soon as you see it. The main event was really dire at this point, at least a talented undercard would keep WCW going until people started jumping in droves.
Was Finlay auch schamlos ausnutzt.

3105.07.2015Fountain of Misinformation6.0Okaye Great American Bash-Augabe.

3509.07.2009Scotty 2 Hotty6.0Eine durchaus ansehnliche Show.
