With a crowd of non-paying, likely not Wrestling fans, you'd think it would be a low effort show, but they were really trying to put on a spectacle with some of these matches. [1st match] Decent opener, but totally the wrong crowd for this type of match. ***1/2 [2nd match] Story driven match, as Ice Train is in an injury angle. Ok for what it is, but also weak for this type of angle also. ** [3rd match] Started off really fun with Nakano ragdolling Madusa with hairmares, and then wore her down with a submission move, until Madusa fought back with attacks. The dumb false finish really ruined it, and made the post match stip sort-of irrelevant. **1/2 [4th match] Long and grueling match for them as well as me. ***1/2 [5th match] solid match but finish was lame. **3/4 [6th match] Again a solid match, but like Malenko/Benoit this had no real momentum swings and maybe outstayed it's welcome. *** [7th match] I suppose this would have been a big return match from last month? but really just becomes another basic formula Tag match with the inevitable nWo run-in. **1/4 [Main] Low effort match with many ridiculous moments of Hogan overpowering Giant, which just looks so wrong. Giant's offence really wasn't much better. * Post match angle of Hogan attacking Ed Leslie was something I really didn't know about until I saw it. PPV itself is interesting for the oddness of it all, but nothing here that is all that special. |

Their technical/agile exchanges were impressive, but the unfamiliar crowd sadly didn't care much. Their work was all still really good, and their more creative stunts eventually won the crowd over. ***1/4. Norton vs Ice-Train was a very short and bland showcase for Norton, with lots of mindless brawling as Norton targeted Ice-Train's shoulder. *3/4. Nakano vs Madusa had a ridiculous "trash the loser's bike" stipulation, and the match itself was pretty dull. Nakano's aggressive strikes and power moves were decent, while Madusa had uninspired but still decent attacks of her own. They unfortunately rushed through all their spots, and the finish was immensely confusing. **. Malenko vs Benoit was good but performed in front of the wrong crowd. Their intensity, aggression, athleticism and physicality were all really good, but the crowd always died on their many technical exchanges plus the long duration and constant restarts. They had some exciting high spots, but not enough to justify a match that long and methodical. ***1/4. Harlem Heat vs The Steiners was basic but alright. Heat smartly played up their showboating to turn the crowd against them. The Steiners played well off that hatred for Heat, with their beefy power moves and strikes eliciting good crowd pops. Heat's long control segments were sadly pretty tiresome, and the screwed interference finish was very disappointing. **3/4. Flair vs Eddie was decent with a few really good moments. Flair's heel-selling was good (with minimal melodrama), and his strikes and general control work were solid. Eddie showed nice fire as the defiant babyface, also impressing with his agile attacks. His many hope spots in the second half were fun. Sadly, we got yet ANOTHER interference finish as Woman helped Flair get the win. ***. Luger & Sting vs Nash & Hall was very underwhelming. All of their exchanges and spots lacked creativity and intensity. Nash and Hall at least had some solid beatdown work while entertaining with their showboating, but they still never did anything too interesting, and the babyfaces lost momentum being contained for so long. Luger's hot tag was very mild and only lasted 30 seconds before the ref randomly turned on Luger and counted a quick, cheap pin for the heels. That was really, really lame, and the 4TH interference finish of the night. **. Giant vs Hogan was a joke. No heat or creativity, just heaps of bland 80s-style spots. Giant's attempt at playing the face was a total failure, and Hogan's control work was aggravatingly dull. At least Giant had some okay attacks and bumps, but Hogan put zero effort in. Nash and Hall interfered to gift Hogan the win (5th time tonight with this nonsense). *. The NWO post-match celebration and Hogan's hyped-up promo were fun, but Bootyman's involvement was pretty lame. |

The main event was weak, as were a couple of undercard matches, but for the most part it was a good event. The ending with Hogan spray painting the belt is iconic. |

Heat/Steiners solides Match für die Titel. Steiners waren super over und Harlem Heat zogen gute Heel-Reaktionen(***1/4). Flair/Guerrero hatte kein besonderes Wrestling, aber gute Charaktere(***). Selbe Sache auch beim Co-Main Event. Sting spielt den geliebten Face und die Outsiders dominieren hart(***). Hogan/Giant hoffentlich nicht noch einmal, denn da funktionierte so gut wie nichts. |

Flair gegen Eddie war wiederum objektiv nicht schlecht, aber so gar nicht meins. Der NWO Block, mit einem guten Match mit grausamen Ende und einem absoluten lahmen Match mit Story Entwicklung und einem wilden Aftermath. Die Show hatte eine echt coole Atmosphäre und eine ganz eigene Energie! |

The biggest headache of the event are the 5 times in a row interference heel finishes. The Outsider winning through the ref disguised as accident actually seems like a nice idea, which was however really terrible executed whit Luger getting pinned in most unspectacular fashion. Madusa vs Nakano also had an nonsense-finish. |

Der Veranstaltungsort war etwas ausgefallen gewählt und er brachte sehr diese Biker-Treffen Athmosphäre rüber. Auch die ständigen Motorengeräusche der Motorräder trugen dazu bei, was teilweise etwas nervig ist, aber auch etwas einzigartiges ist. Der Opener war stark und Rey Mysterio und Ultimo Dragon sind beides hervorragende Cruiserweights, die ein gutes Match abliefern, in dem Rey den Titel verteidigt. Scott Norton vs Ice Train war ziemlich langweilig und kurz und danach gibt es eines der Aufeinandertreffen von Madusa und Bull Nakano, was nie schlecht ist, aber hier auch nicht das beste Match der beiden ist. Chris Benoit vs Dean Malenko ist das MOTN und beide sind die vermutlich besten Techniker des Rosters. Sie legen hier ein hervorragendes technisches Match hin, das sehr viel Zeit bekommt, was definitiv gut getan hat und am Ende schafft es Benoit tatsächlich den Man of a thousand Holds zu besiegen. Das Tag Team Title match ging ziemlich lange und war okay, am Ende gewinnen Harlem heat. Ric Flair vs Eddie Guerrero um den US Title war gut und ist eine hervorragende Ansetzung. Auch dieses Match bekommt genug Zeit und das ist auch eine stärke des PPVs, weniger aber dafür längere Matches. Der Co-Main Event war solide. Die Outsiders besiegen Sting und Lex Luger im Tag Team Match, was Story-technisch natürlich absolut Sinn gemacht hat und die wohl beste Fehde damals weitergeführt hat. Der Main Event war dann ein typisches Hogan gegen den Riesen Match, wie er sie in der WWF schon zur hauf hatte, hier war es aber spanned, da diesmal er der Heel war, wenngleich der Giant auch kein richtiges Face war. Am Ende schafft es Hogan tatsächlich nach etwas overbooking den Giant zu besiegen und WCW Champion zu werden, womit die Ära der nWo beginnt, was auch in diesem legendären Moment, in dem der Titel bemalt wird visuell sichtbar gemacht wird. Starker PPV der WCW, den man sich anschauen sollte. |

I expected to be put off by the setting, but it was actually not too bad, the crowd seemed reasonably into the show considering they were mostly random bikers, and the scenery was actually quite beautiful. Mysterio/Dragon was a great opener, no surprise, and Norton/Train was actually a good short hoss battle, I liked the story they told around Train's injured arm. I honestly loved the women's match, sprint though it was. Bull Nakano is freaking awesome, and Madusa ain't too bad either. The gimmick with the bikes was whatever, but still a super fun short match. Benoit/Malenko was technically fantastic, a borderline MOTY contender overall I would say. The tag title match was actually great as well, the best match either team had had in a while, and Flair/Guerrero was quite good as well. The Outsiders/Luger & Sting tag match was quite enjoyable, it dragged slightly with Nash working a slow heat segment with Sting in the middle, but Luger has a fantastic hot tag where he really cleans house. The main event was the weakest match on the show unfortunately, but it was passable considering it was a Hogan match. Definitely loads better than any Hogan/Giant match from before the turn! The finishing stretch was very climactic, with Giant fighting off Hall and Nash only to be taken down by Hogan with a shot from the belt. Huge moment with Hogan winning the title, and a very entertaining epilogue as Hogan disposed with Brutus Beefcake, who tried to suck up and get into nWo. Part of what made them so strong originally was keeping their membership tight, so this was a great call. Extremely strong show, I'd say no bad matches at all really and many good-to-great ones. |

TT Match war eine zähe Partie. Dazu auch noch dieses bescheuerte Finish. Hier musste man sofort merken das Patrick mit absicht gegen Luger gekracht ist. (1 3/4*) 8. ME war dann grausam. Die 15 Minuten bestehen fast nur aus einer EINZIGEN Kraftprobe. Beide tuen auch ihresgleichen und bewegen sich kaum. Doch die Crowd feiert das & feuert Hogan och kräftig an. Dazu wurde auch noch die nächste Schreckenherrschaft Hogans eingeleitet. (1/4*) Das Aftermath dann ist auch so eine Sache. Als Dark Segment okay, aber nicht noch beim PPV. Mir gefiel der PPV überhaupt. Da sind die aktuellen WWE PPVs besser. Allein fast in jeden Match ein bescheuertes Finish. Die Location versprach einiges, doch die Crowd machte gleich alles zu nichte. Dazu ein grausamer ME, der schon Arbeitsverweigerung vermuten ließ. |

| 43 | 10.07.2016 | Smi-48 | 6.0 | Eine interessante Show, die zwar nicht durchgängig mit wrestlerischer oder bookingbegründeter Brillianz besticht, aber mit der Location einen hohen Wiedererkennungsfaktor hat und sicherlich einige wirklich interessante Szenarien mit sich bringt. Zunächst ist das zwar optisch eine reizvolle Gegend, aber die Biker sind eine höchst undankbare Crowd, was sich gerade beim absolut Highlight der Show, dem tollen Match zwischen Benoit und Malenko, unvorteilhaft bemerkbar macht. Der maskierte Opener der Show ist ansonsten ebenso okay, wie es das Match zwischen Guerrero und Flair oder auch stellenweise das Tag-Match zwischen den Steiners und Harlem Heat ist. Eher schwach erscheinen die Damen, die in dieser Konstellation und ohne diese bescheuerte Stipulation sogar in der WWF bereits wesentlich bessere Runden absolviert haben, und auch das eher behäbige Augfeinandertreffen der Jungs von 'Fire & Ice' kann man eher vergessen. Bleibt noch die nWo, welche einerseits durch den Referee begünstigt einen weiteren Erfolg über sting & Luger einfährt, und andererseits wieder mit Hogan den dicken Titel einkassiert. Gerade der Titelgewinn Hogans schmeckt mir so kurz nach seinem Comeback mal gar nicht, da es dioch zu sehr nach altem Murks in neuer Verkleidung schmeckt, auch wenn Ed Leslie ordentlich eins verbraten bekommt. Insgesamt führen die positiven Erwähnungen dann zu soliden sechs Punkten. |

Das Frauen Match war da sogar stärker, nur schade um das Bike 3/10. Benoit gegen Malenko war dann das Highlight des Abends und das MOTN. Auch wenn es 2x unterbrochen wurde auch das Zeitlimit 9/10. Tag Team Title Match, war auch nix besonderes dafür mit einem miesen Finish. Das hat echt genervt 5/10. US Title Match war dann wieder stärker und das 2. beste Match an diesem PPV. Hätte mich über einen Titelgewinn von Eddie gefreut kommt aber noch 7/10. Das Outsiders Match, konnte auch net überzeugen irgendwie wirkt es als ob jeder grade so das nötigste tut 4/10. Der ME war dann noch mal echt hart anzusehen. Total ohne Tempo und mit einem Finish das einen nur den Kopf schütteln lässt. Warum wird Hogan nicht disqualifiziert? Nach dem 2 Leute eingreifen? Wo war denn der Dungeon of Doom, war das denen so egal? Dann liegt der Giant dieses Monster, fast 10 Minuten im Ring ohne sich zu rühren? Ach ne das war nur doof. 2/10 Insgesamt gibt es trotz schlechtem ME und mieser Crowd noch eine 6/10. Da doch schon starke Momente da waren. |

Auch das US-Titel Match von Flair und Guerrero ist wirklich unterhaltsam. Wenn auch zu kurz. Ganz klar das Highlight des Abends ist aber das Match zwischen Benoit und Malenko. Hier treffen zwei Könner ihres Fachs aufeinander. Saubere Aktionen und schöne Konter ohne Ende. Aber leider null Stimmung durch die wirklich unterirdisch schlechte Crowd. Das Duell der ehemaligen Fire & Ice und das Damen-Match darf man gepflegt skippen. Harlem Heat vs Steiners ist in Ordnung, mehr aber auch nicht nicht. So weit so ordentlich. Aber leider sind die beiden Main Events richtig mies. Das Tag Team Match geht noch, aber das Finish ist schon echt frech. Und was Hogan und der Giant da im Main Event zeigen ist hart an Arbeitsverweigerung. Dagegen wirkt Hogan vs Andre bei WM 3 wie ein Cruiserweight Fight. Warum Hogan bei den ganzen Eingriffen nicht disqualifiziert wird ist schon fast müßig. Die beiden Matches ziehen die Show auf jedenfall auf eine durchshcnittliche runter. |

The event's best match by far was the excellent Benoit vs. Malenko affair, while we also had some decent stuff with Flair vs. Eddie, Misterio vs. Dragon, the Tag Title match and even the women's match, silly stipulation aside. The main event resulted in a key moment in the NWO's takeover, with Hogan spraypainting the World Title belt. And while the wisdom of holding a major PPV event in a setting with no live gate is questionable at best, the Sturgis rally did provide a cool aesthetic. |

Das World Tag Team Title Match war das einzige Match, wo ein bisschen Stimmung aufkam, da die ganzen Rassisten endlich mal paar Schwarze hatten, die sie ausbuhen konnten. Insgesamt gab es an diesem Abend 5 Finishes die durch Eingriffe von außen entschieden wurden. Das möchte ich nur nochmal erwähnen, weil ich das glaub ich noch nie zuvor gesehen habe. Sehr faules Booking. |

Mit mehr zeit wäre hier sicherlich ein gutes Womens Match drin gewesen. Das Finish war allerdings äußerst verwirrend (*1/4) Benoit vs. Malenko siehe Mg (****1/4) Im Tag Titles Match dauert es lange bis was passiert und wenn dann was passiert ist es leider nur mäßig. Von diesem match habe ich doch deutlich mehr erwartet (*1/2) US Title siehe Mg (***1/4) Outsiders vs. Luger & Sting ist wirklich schwach. Hall & Nash waren einfach im Ring in der WCW nichts und Luger sowieso nur selten gut. Das Finish seh ich zwiegespalten. Zum einen ist die Idee Nick Patrick turnen zu lassen richtig gut, aber das Luger nach diesem schlag gecovert wird ist einfach nur komplett wahnsinnig (*) Der Mainer war das was man erwarten konnte. Schwaches Match, das nur dazu diente Hogan den belt zu geben und den Leuten zu zeigen wie er sich entwickelt hat. Der Crowd macht das nichts, da sie schön fleißig Hogan anfeuern (3/4*) 2 gute Matches und ein sehr gutes sind schon mal nicht so schlecht. Wie für ein WCW PPV üblich bieten die Main Events leider gar nichts und so komm ich hier nicht über 5 Punkte hinaus. Die Storys steigern sich, aber so langsam könnte sich die Events auch mal steigern. |

Das Tag-Match war noch ganz okay, jedoch war Giant-Hogan mehr als langweilig. Bestimmt 50% des Matches bestand aus Holds & auch sonst zeigten die Beiden nichts. Harlem Heat vs Steiners war ebenfalls ganz ok. Zum vergessen waren Madusa vs Bull Nakano und Ice Train vs Scott Norton. Aber über allem stand natürlich der Titelgewinn von Hollywood Hogan gegen den Giant. Und am Schluss noch das besprühen des World Heavyweight Champion Gürtels mit NWO, einfach nur genial! |

Diese Matche und ein noch annehmbares co-ME machen die Show zu einer wirklich unterhaltsamen Show. |

Wirklich schlecht ist eigentlich nur Norton vs. Ice Train (fand die ganze SL einfach lahm). Den PPV kann man sich ruhig mal anschauen ! |

Mit Benoit/Malenko und Flair/Guerrero und mit Abstrichen Rey/Dragon gibt es sogar zwei bis drei recht ansehnliche Matches, aber im Großen und Ganzen plätschert die Veranstaltung einfach so vorbei, ohne das wirklich Stimmung aufkommt. Vielleicht liegt es an der Location und dem damit verbundenen Publikum. Daher nur 6 Punkte. |

Auch machte sich mal wieder die für diese PPV Serie typische Lustlosigkeit bemerkbar. Das Booking muß man offenbar auch nicht zu jedem Match nachvollziehen können. |
