221.12.2016see base 2cubed4.0This promotion is feeling more and more like a dumping ground for NJPW refuse . Some good matches but the killed this show . Two of the contestants are not workers so they take one of the guys that could actually carry the match and tie him to the guard rail for a long portion . Disgraceful for a title match . Matches worth watching : Atsushi Kotoge, Captain NOAH, Hitoshi Kumano & Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Suzuki-gun (El Desperado, Taichi, TAKA Michinoku & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) , Taiji Ishimori vs. Yoshinari Ogawa , Daisuke Harada vs. Hajime Ohara and my top match was Go Shiozaki, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Masa Kitamiya & Maybach Taniguchi vs. Suzuki-gun (Davey Boy Smith Jr. , Lance Archer, Shelton Benjamin & Takashi Sugiura) .
317.08.2016jboyaquar6.0Only 825 people showed up for this NOAH Korakuen built around a tag title match and three others for a chance to enter the (supposedly) vaunted Super J Cup. For those who spoke and will speak of Suzuki as a potential IWGP champ let me proffer the following: the man has never been nor will he ever be a draw on his own. Hasn't the year or so he held the NOAH belt, went undefeated, and drew tiddlywinks statement enough on this fact. People do not want to pay to see him main event. Likewise, I adore Ishii, but I'm not going to suggest NJPW place its biggest title on him, (winning G-1 is a different matter but KO showed that he deserved it this year, ) as Ishii refuses to or just cannot come out of his shell. Anyway, of the three singles bouts only the stylish Ohara and steady Harada put on a contest worth watching. Ogawa's too old and lacks the will to put forth anything memorable in a singles contest, and Genba is a joke though he did take a mad 360 flip bump on this night. A word to Ohara & Harada - U both can be a little too cute with their moveset when they're both more impressive as bruisers. The tag title match was garbage but that's to be expected with Y, Iz and the absurd amount of interference that is Suzuki-gun w/out ever being DQ'd. In other action, the eight man is solid; it's always a thrill to see rivals Shioz/Sugs battling each other... Sugs's chest blistering from all the chops. KN->SB for G-1. Finally, 20 yr old Kiyomiya got a suprise, keen pinfall on Desperado.
