102.03.2019rykejamal9.0The opening 8-man contest was a fun mess, with lots happening in and out of the ring. There was a moment that had me gasping, when Grado did that rolling senton into the corner (not sure what its actually called) and crushed Kid Fite. Next match between Whiplash and Girvan was enjoyable and had room for growth, but I feel it was cut short to start off the feud between Whiplash and BT Gunn, which was an awesome setup. Mark Coffey and Stevie Boy had a solid bout. Nothing special though. One of the main matches here was Jackie Polo vs. Lionheart. This would be the first in their series of matches, which would continue in 2018. While I don't think this match was on par with the first two of their 2018 battles (Barramania 4 and Shug's 5), it was still an excellent match that played off Lionheart's injury, with Polo being as vicious as always. A sign of what would come 3 years later. Post-match promo was fantastic. Polo may have been the best talker at the time. Deserves an extra point. The next match... holy sh*t! Not only was the match a great battle, but the closing moments that led to the finish was the stuff of legend. I've always wondered when Wolfgang sides with the NAK, and I have found my answer. Fantastic finish to a great match. Also, Renfrew's entrance was cool. The women's match was a bit underwhelming, but what was even more surprising was that Carmel was beaten almost in a squash-like fashion. I can't recall much offense from her side. The post match speech from Liam Thomson was very heart warming, then BAM! Heel turn. Chair shot to Carmel. Definitely a shocking moment. May need to follow up on this angle. Okay, first, let me just say that Joe Coffey's entrance was awesome. The match itself was fantastic with lots of near falls and an insane dive from Joe Coffey to the outside, that he missed. It just made it cooler. Another awesome post match promo followed. Great show overall.
212.04.2015steviecw8.0Another strong event from ICW, probably the best promotion in Europe right now. Jackie Polo proves himself to be an absolute star, while Lewis Girvan showed himself to be so far beyond the ICW's "Spacebaws" level. Renfrew vs Divers was good and Renfrews entrance was excellent, so too was the swerve - got the feeling that maybe Renfrew would have been a poor ICW Champion at this junction, however. Do wish Layla Rose and Carmel could have had more of a match but it did tell a good story. Not 100% on Bram in ICW just yet. Main-Event was sensational, though the fans booing Drew Galloway (who at this stage had defended the ICW title in three continents and made it a World Championship and had gone to great lengths to be there that night having become the first ever Scottish DGUSA champion the night before) was actually a little disgusting. Joe Coffey is of course deserving of the top spot in ICW someday down the line, but right now there's none hotter than Galloway.
