"Ah, Vic Grimes. I remember reading about him extensively back on the news sites and discussion boards of the internets infancy, back in the mid to late 1990's. He was frequently in the news, seemingly as a hot prospect for the WWF, and because of his altercation with New Jack. VERY rarely saw him wrestle though. I caught a handful of his ECW matches, and his incredibly brief run as 'Key, ' Drug dealer for Droz and Prince Albert. Anyhow, based on the limited footage I've seen (I've have watched his XPW stuff, as well as some other indy work in subsequent years as well, ) I think he definitely had talent and potential. He was willing to take some amazingly huge bumps for a man his size, and was capable of doing so quite believably for a man his size. Honestly, I think his selling was his strongest attribute. He had some interesting and innovative offense, but he seemed VERY HEAVY on his feet for someone his size. Like, he looked to be significantly lighter than Bam Bam Bigelow, but when he jumped, he got all the airtime of OMG/Akeem. He actually appeared disproportionately heavy for someone for his actual wight. Also, I believe his listed height is grossly inaccurate. Both Wikipedia and this site (which wikipedia actually cited for the info on his height) have him as standing at 6' 4", however you can see he's significantly shorter than Darren Drozdov, who the NFL listed at a legit 6'3." Furthermore, during one of his Shotgun Saturday Night appearances, Kevin Kelly states that Grimes stands at an even 6 feet... I know wrestling announcers often exaggerate a wrestlers height, but I've never heard of them undercutting someone like that, leading me to believe that, if anything, Vic Grimes is actually shorter than 5'11". Nevertheless, he still cast somewhat of an imposing figure with his almost 6' tall, 330 lbs. frame. So, altogether, I'd say Grimes was a below average wrestler, who never fully lived up to his potential, likely only through fault of his own. With a little more more dedication and ambition, he likely could have improved his ring work, his conditioning, his physique, and his mic skill, but he just never seemed to posses the adequate motivations to do so. He was clearly talented, but he allowed himself to stand in the way of what could have been s successful mid-card career. I'm not going to even get into the New Jack debacle, but let's just say he could have probably benefited from improving his attitude and treating his fellow wrestlers and the business as a whole with a little more respect. His inverted crucifix power bomb was admittedly awesome though."

"Even though this dude had talent and could make up a good match, it's mind boggling that he preffered to be in shitty hardcore/deathmatches which requires no talent. He was big but athletic and because he chose to be involved in those type of 'wrestling' matches he didn't have to use any of his potential and was an idiot for that."

Aber Grimes allein daran zu messen, ist unfair. Der Typ konnte definitiv was.
