[7.0] "One of those eternal card-fillers. You want a match on the card that's gonna be painless and get a reliably positive reaction from the crowd? You get Sakura Hirota to show up. I think it's a shame that her comedy was the ONLY thing that she ended up being known for because if you look at her pre-goofy work in GAEA, she could actually go fairly well for her experience level. She had solid agility and a decent understanding of how to pace a match, probably could've been pretty good if she'd kept under that serious path. I can definitely appreciate what she brings to the table with the varied prop comedy alongside some surprisingly in-depth wrestler impressions (her match with Toyota and Yoshida in particular have some really good moments where you could tell she had a good idea of the stuff they'd do lol) but her matches are very hit and miss depending on who's with her and how long the match goes. If it's someone good and the match goes sub-10, usually worth watching. Anything longer with someone substantially green or bad and it just becomes groan-worthy nonsense that drags really bad. There are few things quite as awful as a bad Hirota match because they typically feel like they go on forever and a half. That said, has a undoubtfully massive impact on the history of comedy wrestling and is still worth watching on occasion when she drops the comedy and works semi-seriously."

Arguably the first "cosplay wrestler", Sakura's intricate imitations of pop culture figures and her peers within the Tokyo scene feel ahead of the curve even to this day. As for her current persona, it seems almost like a parody of Japanese pro wrestling, with her Mutoh tributes and intentionally botched high risk moves. Although her decision to lean even deeper into comedy after her return is something of a double edged sword (workrate guys loathe this woman! ), she's still an undeniable presence in the joshi scene, for better or for worse."

Her ability to mimic practically any wrestler on the planet is amazing, and she never fails to bring a smile to my face with her antics. There's nobody like Sakura Hirota."

If you're all about m'workrate and in ring classics, she won't be your cup of tea. Do know that she can actually wrestle, and if she wants to have a good serious match, she's still capable of having good ones."

She ruined more matches than almost anyone in wrestling history with her "comedy" performances that were rarely funny. Anyone who exposes the business that much when she wrestles should not be considered a good wrestler."

She can go when needed to as she used to be quite a good wrestler, as expected when you're trained by Chigusa Nagayo. Anyone who likes comedy wrestling needs to watch her matches, she's a genius and never fails to make me laugh"

No real actually bell to bell talent, that I've seen. Maybe there is some japanese cultural stuff going on here I just don't get. I skip her stuff whenever it's on a sendai card."

Und das in jedem verdammten Match, das ich mit ihr gesehen habe. Vermutlich kenne ich nur Kämpfe nach ihrer Zeit als Comedian. Für mein Dafürhalten passt das alles nicht zusammen. Exposing the Business. Big Time. Geht gar nicht. Und das in Japan. Ich bin durchaus entsetzt."

She was trained by Chigusa Nagayo and if you want to know how tough that was just look up Gaea Girls on YouTube. Her tag team matches with Chigusa against D-Fix are comedy gold. Great comedy and very playful I hope she keeps doing what shes doing and wins some more gold."
