| 11 | 11.02.2024 | MarkJira | 4.0 | I see what people would see in Kane as a prospect, he's got the build, he's got a couple of recognizable hallmarks with his "Bomaye" schtick and his array of suplexes, he has a degree of physical charisma, but he's not a prospect. He's a (now former) world champion in MLW, past his thirtieth birthday, and it's hard to imagine him finding the right connective tissue to sew those pieces together and really elevate himself. His strikes are lethargic and visibly unimpactful, attempts at any sort of fire feel halfhearted, his bag of moves isn't so deep, and sometimes he looks like he's moving at half-speed in the ring. Wish I felt the way other people do about him, but my eyes tell me different than my ears do. |

I liked his reign with the National Openweight Championship, although he definitely should've been allowed to defend it on the indies like Davey did. The Bomaye Fight Club will eventually outgrow MLW, and I'm excited to see where they'll go and what Kane will do. [EDIT] I love that he is now the top guy in MLW, he's perfect for the role. |
