[5.0] "I remember this era being better than it has been so far. Only one match went longer than 5 minutes here. This Jeff Jarrett stuff where he's playing hokey pokey with the Four Horsemen seems a little poorly booked. Malenko and Eddie had a good short match and Syxx running away with Eddie's belt was a highlight, even though Eddie stopped him. The test for Diamond Dallas Page by Randy Savage and Sting was the most interesting segment of the show, especially given what was to come with Page and Savage. I am so not interested in Piper/Hogan 235...."
[4.0] "Malenko vs Guerrero was a good match but I disliked the count-out finish, even though it made sense with Syxx stealing belts for a few weeks. It was an anticlimactic finish that just made the match fall flat for me. The tag team championship match was essentially a squash mash against unheard of jobbers and was a waste of time. Too many of the other matches were so short. Regal v Mysterio was the match of the night for me despite the time-limit finish. A lot of the out of the ring work was pretty good, especially the heel work by Bischoff and the NWO during the segment with Randy Anderson."
[8.0] "Really loving nitro at the moment. The matches are generally short but they are entertaining and often advancing a storyline. The babyfaces are really over with the crowd, the storyline with sting and Savage continues to be engaging, Piper in another great segment with Hogan."
[2.0] "What a bore of a show. A bunch of sub-5 min matches that weren't just uninteresting on paper but which also failed to gain anything from their overly short allotments. Eddie vs Malenko was fun for its time, featuring lots of impressively slick technical work and flashy agile exchanges. A shame Syxx's dorky interference that totally derailed it. TS;NR (too short; no rating). DDP seemingly being tested/initiated by Sting and Savage was quite cool and interesting, but I really wish the anti-nWo force would just form already. Best segment of the show, still. Konnan vs Eaton was a quick and dull squash. No clue what this accomplished. TS;NR. Bischoff preventing Luger from wrestling due to his hand injury got good heat, but it then gave us Giant vs Powers -- another dull squash. It at least had purpose in continuing The Giants babyface push, but that isn't interesting to begin with. TS;NR. Giant's post-match promo was melodramatic and featured lots of YELLING because of how unskilled he is. Luger agreeing to team with him was extremely underwhelming, too. Steiners vs High Voltage was ANOTHER sub-5-minute match, but at least it had the usual fun and mindless Steiner action. TS;NR. The nWo being confronted by the ref who Bischoff fired AND THE REFS FAMILY was classic sports entertainment nonsense. A match between that ref and the nWo ref also sounds like hell. Who possibly wants to see ANY of this? ? ? Nash & Hall vs 'The Extreme' was yet another worthless squash. Its not like Nash and Hall needed this, so why bother? TS;NR. Nash & Halls post-match promos were pretty immature but their delivery was confident. Regal vs Mysterio was fine before the BS. Regals technical bruiser work was good, while Mysterio's high-flying and acrobatics were mostly good apart from a few slight slip-ups. They had some good ideas but mediocre chemistry, and then it ended terribly in a... 7-minute time-limit draw? LOLWCW. **. Sullivan vs Wild was, oh wow, another pointless squash. At least Jacqueline got over with her attacks on the outside, but neither her nor Sullivan needed/deserved this screen time. TS;NR. Sullivan continuing his weird IRL-based feud with Benoit and Nancy in his post-match interview remained uninteresting, especially with Sullivan's awful promo delivery. Wright vs Morrus had a couple of fine high spots but Wright botched the finish, and it all ended after like 2.5 minutes. What a joke. TS;NR. Not even the main-event could get a proper time allotment. Benoit and Chavo were decent, but Jarrett and Mungo offered nothing, and 'Debra distracting Jarrett' story was dumb. TS;NR. The Horsemen's post-match promos were mixed. Arn and Flair's were good, Debra and Mungo' fine, and Benoit's quite dull and directionless. Piper and Hogan's show-ending promo was decent. Piper showed good babyface fire and relatable emotion while Hogan was good as the cocky heel in response. It didn't develop their feud/story much but did well to maintain mild interest."
[8.0] "Regal vs Mysterio was a hidden gem, I wish Regal would get that push to the US belt but it's not going to happen. Tonight was a great night for the faces, Sting and Macho man got the crowd hyped with their test of DDP. Dungeon of Doom is still stuff for some reason but I don't know why. The Giant is fully over with the fans, I'm actually really hyped for him. Too many jobber matches for the episode but I was entertained."
[7.0] "Wrestlerisch war diese Nitro Episode erneut nicht groß? der Opener hatte tolle Ansätze und auch Mysterio gegen Regal war eine stabile Angelegenheit. Die erneuten Wiederholungen waren störend, die Referee Story wiederum kreativ. Sting war mysteriös wie eh und je. Luger und Giant tatsächlich ziemloch interessant, Sullivan erneut lahm, aber die Four Horsemen haben gerockt. Piper ist für mich langsam ausgelutschter Kram? es ist so viel passiert!"
[9.0] "Great episode from WCW's peak - and arguably the peak of the entire Monday Night Wars. Hogan, Bischoff and the NWO were on absolute fire. The Sting/Savage story was developing. Piper, Giant, DDP and Luger are all really hot as faces going up against the bad guys. The Randy Anderson angle is a real highlight too."
[9.0] "Another great Nitro! In the ring you've got a personal dream match between Regal and Mysterio (which was great), an over the top hoss battle between the Steiners and High Voltage, and Kevin Sullivan utterly wrecking a guy with the help of Jacqueline. Outside the ring you've got the DDP/Savage/Sting segment, Bischoff telling Randy Anderson's little daughter to pass on the message that her daddy is still fired, that big Sullivan promo, and a Piper/Hogan showdown (via satellite, but still) to end the show."
[6.0] "Der Opener ist ein nettes Match, das passt zur Eröffnung der Show. Luger soll aus dem Match rausgehalten werden als Story ok. Die Randy Anderson Sache keine Ahnung was das soll, aber passt natürlich zu den Outsiders. Regal gegen Mysterio ist ein gutes Match mit schlechtem Ende. Sullivan Promo fand ich sehr cool. Die Horsemen sind immer gut."
[7.0] "A good episode of Nitro, there are only short matches but some of them are good and the angles this time are great. The Hogan vs Piper feud goes on, The Giant wants revenge on the nWo, Sting and Randy Savage are fantastic as usual. Finally an episode to enjoy."
[7.0] "Es war eine sehr vollgepackte und lebendige Nitro Ausgabe mit vielen Entwicklungen, die im Gesamtpaket eine gute Show ergaben. Nachdem Syxx wieder mal versucht hatte einen Titel zu klauen ging auch die DDP Geschichte in die nächste Runde. Hier wurde alles richtig gemacht mit Sting, Savage und DDP und das Segment zog gute Zuschauerreaktionen. Luger, der mit einem gebrochenen Arm kämpfen will wusste auch zu gefallen und war klassisches Face Booking, genauso wie die Allianz zwischen The Giant und ihm. Die nächsten 20 Minuten waren für mich persönlich das klare Highlight und Comedy pur. Die Reaktionen von Hall und Nash in dem Anderson Segment und auch in der Promo nach ihrem Match waren zum totlachen. Wie Nash am Ende herausposaunte, dass Patrick undefeated sei und die beiden sich durchgehend als "The Working Mans Champions" bezeichneten sorgten für ein pausenloses Grinsen bei mir. Die 2. Stunde konnte dieses Niveau nicht mehr ganz halten, hatte aber mit der Benoit vs. Sullivan Fehde und der Horsemen Promo ein bisschen was zu bieten. Das Endsegment zwischen Piper und Hogan war auch herrlich verrückt, wenn auch nicht so stark und emotional dargestellt wie letzte Woche, da Hogan nicht anwesend war. Mit Malenko vs. Eddie und Regal vs. Mysterio gab es auch gutes Wrestling zu sehen, etwas das ich bei den letzten Ausgaben vermisst hatte."
[4.0] "Wenn man mit Malenko gegen Eddie Guerrero eine Show kickt, kann es ja so schlimm schonmal nicht sein. Leider bekommen beide nicht die Zeit für was Brauchbares. Schade. Danach wird es interessanter, denn DDP wird von Sting und dem Macho Man konfrontiert - Botschaften tauscht man aber nicht so wirklich aus. Bobby Eaton jobbt seit Monaten fröhlich durchs Roster. Bischoff gibt Luger frei, der eigentlich nicht wirklich Bock darauf hat, während der Giant Ron Powers nach allen Regeln der Kunst zerlegt. Die Steiners müssen sich erst wieder durchs komplette Roster arbeiten, um eine Chance auf die Gürtel der Outsiders zu erhalten - und deswegen machen sie auch kurzen Prozess mit High Voltage. Die nWo zeigt sich von der sympathischen Seite und Randy Anderson bleibt gefeuert, während die Outsiders sich kaum die Finger schmutzig machen. Ein Time-Limit Draw nach krummen sieben Minuten zwischen Regal und Mysterio ist dramatisch unlogisch, auch wenn das Match ganz solide erscheint. Der Taskmaster entwickelt an der Seite Jacquelines ganz neue Aggressionen und spuckt auch Gift und Galle in Richtung seiner Ex. Die Wiederholung des Piper-Segments der Vorwoche sind ketzt keine News. Letzte Woche noch Super Calo besiegt, heute von Hugh Morrus überrannt - keine einfachen Zeiten für Alex Wright. Chavo ist nicht das Kaliber, das Jarrett zu einem Sieg über die Horsemen verhelfen könnte - und das sieht er auch schnell ein. Jarrett will zu den Horsemen und versucht den Weg über Debra, was McMichael weiter auf die Palme bringt. Das abschliessende, über Bildschirm geführte Face-to-Face mit Piper und Hogan ist solide und würzt die Story nach der peinlichen Nummer mit Pipers Sohn in der Vorwoche entschieden nach. Keine Meisterleistung, sondern ein eher zweckdienliches und höhepunktarmes Nitro mit überwiegend grauenhaften Matches."
[7.0] "Insgamt besser als die Ausgabe der Vorwoche. Opener macht schon direkt Bock, bei dem Eddie am Ende durch Count Out verliert, weil Syxx sich erneut einen Titel klauen will. Außerdem hat Randy Anderson die Chance, sich seinen Job wieder zuholen, bei einem Match gegen Nick Patrick, welches angekündigt wurde. Danach dann schneller Sieg von Konnan gegen Bobby Eaton. The Giant springt danach für Luger ein, der von Eric daran gehindert wird, mit einem Gips zu wrestlen. Danach wird das Tag Team Luger/Giant beschlossen. Schnelle und kurze Tag team Matches. Regal gegen Misterio macht dann wieder mehr Spaß. Danach geht es flott zu Ende. Die Storys werden weiter fortgeführt und so freut man sich schon auf Super Brawl VII"
