"That picture is worth a million celebrations"

The Miz: "I had a huge celebration that was planned tonight, but in the end I didn't need it. I didn't need the balloons, the streamers, the pyro because I found something that sums up the feeling of the WWE Universe. First, there was shock. [zeigt auf dem Bildschirm das Foto eines schockiert aussehenden kleinen Mädchens aus dem WWE-Publikum] Boo-hoo. Then there was anger. [Zeigt dasselbe Mädchen noch einmal mit einem wütenden Gesichtsausdruck] They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but that picture is worth a million celebrations. That girl will forever be known as the Miz Girl and I wanna thank her.

I wanna thank her for reminding me of the struggle I had to go through to get here. Reminding me of everyone who ever said anything about me that I wouldn't make it. Everyone at MTV who said that I would never be a WWE Superstar, then when I got here and everyone in the crowd and everyone in the back said I would never amount to nothing! To the JBLs, John Bradshaw Layfield, to the Triple Hs, John Cenas, I say this: The Miz is WWE Champion!

What about the former champion Randy Orton? Randy isn't here tonight due to an injury, a knee injury. Yeah, right. The only thing injured on Orton is his pride because I personally injured him last week when I took his title, now he's ashamed to show his face. But he shouldn't be, because he's just the first in a long list of people I'm going to demoralize because when I say I'm going to do something, I accomplish it, and mark my words, I will be the longest-reigning WWE Champion in history!

You remember anything about this speech, if you take anything with you, take this: If anyone ever says you can't do something, if anyone says you can't live your dream: Believe them. You can't. It takes someone exceptional, and all of you will go through life never accomplishing any of your dreams, but I'm one in a billion, because I actually have achieved my dreams. You know two weeks ago, Rowdy Roddy Piper stood in this very ring and he said that in his generation, they went out and they made things happen. They made things happen! Roddy never made anything happen. In this book, hold it up, the rich history of the WWE Championship, Roddy Piper isn't in it because he never won a WWE Championship, Ricky The Dragon Steamboat isn't in it, because he was never a WWE champion, and the list goes on, so-called Hall of Famers, Don Muraco, Mr. Perfect--"

Jerry Lawler: "Hold on, Miz, Miz, Miz... Miz... as a person whose name is on that list, let me just say this: Congratulations are an order, you're the new WWE Champion, but let's face it: You were facing a guy who was beat down by seven other guys. Now that may make you clever, and that may make you an opportunist, but that doesn't make you awesome."

Miz: "Really? Really? Because to me that sounds like the ramblings of a bitter old man who fought for four decades and never did what I did in one night."

Michael Cole: "King, will you stop please, it's bad enough that you've been out here downplaying the Miz's victory all night, at one point you even called it a fluke, so can you please just sit down and let Miz have his moment?"

Lawler: "You're right, you're right. I'll do that, but you know what, Miz, if you're the champion, you'd call out someone who hasn't already been beaten down by seven other guys and give them a title shot."

Cole: "King, you've gotta stop or else Miz might end up making an example out of you. You may be that guy."

Lawler: "Hey Miz, you hear what Cole just said? You know what? Some people who were on that list of names of people who never became WWE Champion, are on that list because they never had a championship opportunity, and to be honest with you, I've been here since 1993 and I've never had a WWE Championship match, so how about giving me a WWE Title shot tonight."

Miz: "Yeah... that's a great idea, but I'm not really in the mood for a championship match tonight."

Lawler: "Well Miz, I think you just verified exactly what I'm saying. You may be a champion, but you're not awesome, you're a coward."

Miz: "How dare you? You sit there week after week and criticize everyone, all you are is someone who has been in the business for 40 years and has never gotten anything, you have done nothing, you are a shell of a Hall-of-Famer."

[Das Geräusch, dass eine eingehende E-Mail des anonymen RAW-GMs signalisiert, ertönt]

Cole: "Can I have your attention, please: I have just received an E-Mail from our general manager. And I quote: Congratulations Miz, what you did last week was impressive, but that was last week and this is tonight, so while you may not be interested in defending the WWE Championship, I am. So that's why I'm making tonight's main event The Miz vs. WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler, for the WWE Championship tonight! But wait, there's more. In three weeks, there's a PPV known as TLC, Tables Ladders and Chairs, and I can't think of any better way to kick off the countdown to the pay per view than by making our main event tonight a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match."
