Superstar Of The Week 12/2024
They were childhood friends and his biggest dream was to end his career alongside his friend, however his friend had other ideas. This is the story of Adam Copeland in AEW so far, Copeland and Christian Cage met yet again in a match for the AEW TNT Championship but this time it was in an I Quit Match. In a grueling, nearly thirty minute match of back and forth action Copeland managed to force his former "brother" to say the famous two words "I Quit". After a long and intense feud the TAFKA Edge not only won the AEW TNT Title for the second but also for becoming our new Superstar Of The Week for the first time in thirteen years. We at CAGEMATCH.net would like to congratulate Adam Copeland on his recent success!

[] "A company with an embarrassment of riches in terms of talent but with very little ability to harness that and create momentum. You can guarantee quality, state-of-the-art wrestling matches but many of them feel like exhibitions with a handshake at the end and no heat. There are no heels or heel stables with a clear purpose who you can love to hate and therefore you don't feel compelled to tune in every week to see them get their comeuppance. Christian is the only heel who makes any sense. The initial buzz and the promise of having a megastar like CM Punk on the books have no faded or gone, and I am not sure anyone in the company recognises why ratings are on the decline. In summary: less than the sum of its parts. PPVs are worth watching for match quality but I've totally lost patience with the weekly shows."
[7.0] "Solid above average match. Both men showed incredible skill and ability in the ring. It was a nice back and forth contest with both men getting most of their signature offense in. Great build up for Cena Vs Owens as well with Cena on commentary."
[6.0] "I love Blake Christman. But, unfortunately, on paper his match against Santa Claus looks much more entertaining than it ended up being. The match had some interesting moments, but the pace was too slow and the match itself felt like it lasted longer than it should have. The first five minutes turned out to be very boring. ***"
