[8.0] "I don't understand how can some people say Tenzan is a terrible wrestler. Are you people nuts? Tenzan and The Third Generation kept NJPW alive during it's Dark Ages. Tenzan is the innovator of Anaconda Vice and many great moves, as well the trainer of Hirooki Goto!"

[3.0] "Maybe Tenzan was once great. I really don't know, I haven't seen him in his prime. But my perspective on him as an avid watcher of NJPW since the start of their iPPV era is that he should not still be wrestling. He looks like, in his younger days, he was probably the archetypical stiff striker that puro was built around. But that's sure not how he wrestles in the present. He's slow and plodding, his offense is poor, and he's not charismatic. And oh my god do I hate his hair. There's just nothing I feel particularly interested in about the match when he's in the ring."

[8.0] "I like Tenzan a lot. He's not in good shape now but he still has charisma about him and can turn it up a little during big matches and G1's. A violent bull in the ring (pun intended), in his prime he put out some fantastic matches in G1's, for the heavyweight title, as well as being a solid tag wrestler. He really was a "big match" wrestler. However, his peak came during the rise of Inokism and he wasn't treated the best which robbed everybody of some potential great matches. His heavyweight championship reigns were jokes, and he was coupled with Chono who was falling apart while a too-green Nakamura and MMA guys were being pushed hard. Then came the neck injuries... He can still pump out a few really good matches a year but it's almost time for him to give it up... History won't look at him or the rest of the "Lost Generation" well, but he deserves a lot of credit for being a bright spot in a dark time."

[8.0] "Though Hiroyoshi Tenzan has filled the role of singles champion (winning both the IWGP and NWA World Championships), it will be his work as an elite tag specialist that sets him apart from the rest. His work with Satoshi Kojima as part of TenKoji has arguably been the highlight of his career."
