[8.0] "An indie standout, who became a true highlight of one of WWE's lesser periods, Evan Bourne was largely wasted, having been thrown from ECW before he was able to capture the championship, onto RAW before they really had a plan for him. He always performed well, but often on the losing end. His only main-roster title success came with a WWE Tag Team Championship run, which ended abruptly due to his own mistakes, followed by an injury and an eventual release. He has continued to perform beautifully in NJPW and ROH as well as on independents like PWG, RPW and EVOLVE. He's extremely decorated as a tag team wrestler (WWE, ROH and three runs as tag champ in NJPW) but could really do a with a signature singles title victory to compliment his early reign as Open the Brave Gate Champion. His promo ability has never been strong but he's extremely likable and so talented in the ring that it barely matters."

[10.0] ""One of the best flyers of the past decade, and YES that absolutely includes up until today. I'm sure it was nice to cash WWE paychecks while sitting at home, but for us fans it's fantastic to see this guy back in the ring, looking as good if not better than ever. The thing that I love most about Sydal is his insane precision, it's not just the great flying and strikes and mat work, but all of it is so impossibly on point! You know you'll get a great show every time you see this guy. ""

[9.0] "He may have not a over the top personality as a wrestler, but he surely has awesome in ring ability as he can transition himself from high-flying style into submission style in such quick fashion. He also can work perfectly as both singles and tag team wrestler. I'd say Sydal is the most underrated high-flying wrestler today."

[8.0] "One of the more exciting American high-flyers to watch today, with some spectacular aerial skills and great selling ability. While his singles performances are always strong, he has had his greatest championship success thus far in the tag team ranks, holding the WWE Tag Championship with Kofi Kingston and ROH World Tag Championship with Christopher Daniels, and is currently regularly teaming with ACH in ROH and Ricochet in NJPW. His time in WWE was definitely hurt by the company's lack of a cruiser/lightweight division; his size and selling ability ensured that despite his popularity he would be used largely as a jobber-to-the-stars in the singles division. Definitely a better fit for the independents and companies like ROH where talented lightweights are better appreciated."
